Sorry guy’s bit of a long one 🙈 thought I’d share how I look after all my chain on the v2, that being said I’ve always done this routine on all my bikes and it work for me 👍
thanks very much for this, really useful and interesting. would love to se a video on general cleaning and maintenance too! im new to the V2 and would love to get to a point where I keep it looking as good as you do without over doing it with chemicals and surfactants!
Hi there, my general cleaning is amazingly simple and absolutely fool prof !!!! General washing is done after every ride with warm water and plain old dish soap “washing up liquid “ dry the bike off take it out blow all the water out 👍 and for detailing “the fairings tank and screen” on my bike “star white silk” plain old glass cleaner and soft cloth 👍if you have the gloss red colour I’ve always used plain old spray on furniture polish I also use this to clean my wheels front and rear just being very careful not to get it on ya tyres 👍 it’s that simple, i did a video on brake pad ware check if there’s any thing else specific your interested in drop me a message I’ll either reply or if it’s worth a video I’ll make one 👍 enjoy your v2 there class bikes 😬👍
Hi, I'm making the first adjustment on my V2; what distance do you use in yours for the chain and the swing-arm? Also, do you know if you measure in front of the bolt or in the back?
Hi there It’s hard to answer your question really as I do it via feel and not a precise measurement per say and once I’m happy with the right tension as per the video I set my chain tool and just use it check chain tension every 400/500 mile or so !!! And to answer 2 part of your question I’m not 100% sure what you mean ??? To set the tension as per Ducati instructions, if you look/feel under about half way of swing arm there’s a plastic slide/ plate and that were Ducati want you to measure from to centre of you chain 👍 remember before you measure to push down on chain towards to ground and release then measure 👍
I think I’m rite in saying ?? Are you asking me am I still using the original factory supplied chain ????? If so Malcolm the answer is YES 👍 I’ve now got over 5500 miles on the bike now and it’s still in the same clean condition as it was in the video , and also I still haven’t needed to adjust it 👍👍👍
@@malcolmpritchard4882 hello mate , that to me sounds like a faulty chain and nothing to do with you !!!! 🙈 that being said I was taught by an old timer how to look after and how to adjust my chain and his advice has served me very very well !!! Not sure if I mention in the vid or not “I can’t remember “ but I got more than 15,000 mile outa my last chain n sprockets on my old bike and I only changed them as they had done 15,000 Mile not because they were completely dead 👍👍👍 chain maintenance + cleaning is key 👍👍👍👍
