"Dude, The Doctor Died!" - Doctor Who S4 E11 "Turn Left" Reaction 

One thing I love about his episode is that through the series and this ep you initially see Donnas mum as this Domineering, strong woman. She's always putting Donna down and comes across all opinionated/in control. When the world goes to hell though she spirals downhill quickly she's the first one to give up hope, and Donna despite feeling inferior she digs deep and saves the day in the end. Its little story touches like this I really enjoy in Doc who.

Such an iconic episode!! David Tennant was barely seen in this episode as each year its said the production schedule requires the Doctor Who team to film two episodes simultaneously. Previously, this resulted in both the Doctor and companion being largely absent from one episode (“Love & Monsters” in season two with Rose and “Blink” in season three with Martha). For the year of this episode release, Russell T Davies decided to have separate “Donna-light” and “Doctor-light” episodes. So while David Tennant was spending a week-and-a-half confined to a single set in “Midnight,” we got to see Donna and Rose takeover in this episode :)

This episode was shot alongside Midnight so while Donna was traversing a world without the doctor, the doctor was struggling to understand the creature from Midnight. With of course little bits of cross over here and there.

One of the most amazing - and scary in a different way - episodes ever. Shock after shock as we see what could happen in a world without the Doctor. And Martha, Sarah-Jane etc doing their brave bests even without the Doctor around to help. Must admit I teared up a couple of times when I first saw this episode. And it sets us up to what I think is the best-ever season finale of Doctor Who with the most brilliant pre-credits sequence (and titles) too!!

As a matter of interest (and no spoilers!) the next 2 episodes of the series showed a MASSIVE surge in popularity and public interest in the UK. There were items on News reports, current affairs programmes, chat shows and in all the tabloid and broadsheet press. In actual fact, the next episode you're gonna watch was rated the 2nd most-watched programme across all channels in the entire country, and a week later, the season finale reached number 1...

"There's something on your back" Season 4 episode 2

Garrett: "What happened that Christmas episode?" Me: See, Garrett really is so over Astrid. I like this episode for us showing what Donna was like when we first met her and what she would be if she traveled with the Doctor. We also get to see how important she really was from the first time meeting the Doctor and how much she has grown as a character. But ofcourse, as always, granddad Wilf steels the show, goofy or serious emotional. As for David Tennant not being there, as others commented it, he was filming another episode, but I just like to think of him having to work double so hard in the season finale. (Can I get an amen on that, Josh?!) =D

Im so glad you guys finally got here... this is probably my favorite Doctor lite episode of all....

I love when Doctor Who gets grounded and this episode really does that well. Donna definitely grew on me from her screamy-self in her first christmas special. Not sure I'd put her in the same tier as Rose and Donna, but she had some banging stories.

One of the two episode in series for being nominated for a hugo award. Turn left is probably the second best episode in series 4

Look, I know Noah is reading ahead, and Josh you need to monitor that shit coz 'River Song's Catchphrase', but as an Aussie who grew up on this stuff in the 80s, I still love Americans discovering it with mild surprise. Will they get through it all before the 60th Anniversary? Probably not...
