On January 29, 1992, at Manhattan's Sheraton New York hotel, sportscaster Bob Costas' inducts into the New York Sports Hall of baseball figures not in attendance: Lou Gehrig (for college baseball), Bill Terry, Christy Mathewson, Lefty Gomez, Frankie Frisch and Leo Durocher. Costas then introduces Duke Snider, a legendary Brooklyn Dodgers baseball player, who delivers his New York Sports Hall of Fame acceptance speech.
