Thank you for sharing this. I "came back" to the Lord a few months ago after many years living in sin. I say "came back" because before I found Ono's channel I thought I had lost my salvation. Shortly after, wanting to please God and get to *know* him, not just about him, I got caught up in reading the Bible, praying and sometimes singing to Him. I got the feeling you are talking about. It has "worn off" and I started thinking maybe I am not really saved after all. I was getting depressed and anxious about it. Then I saw your post and it reminded me that, no, salvation is not a feeling. I try to remind myself all the time that He will never leave me or forsake me, that because I call upon His name He will in no wise cast me out. I'm not going to let the enemy win the battle for my mind. He already lost my soul thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!

Same here. I believe I was saved 20 years ago while on a missions trip to Mexico with my church. I remember kneeling down in prayer to God, believing that he died for my sins and rose from the grave. I just remember it felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders at that moment, but shortly after that I had expected to “feel” different or start magically changing my lifestyle lol. That didn’t happen like I thought it should and I remember going back to the same sins I did before I believed and it led me to doubt my salvation for nearly 20 years. But about a year ago I found Yankee Arnold, Tom Cacuzza, and Ono Diamonte on RU-vid and I gained the assurance of my salvation by looking to God’s Word instead of chasing a “feeling.”

I think it is because so many denominations, most of them, are works based and many think you can lose your salvation. Then you have the likes of Ray Comfort, John MacArthur, and Paul Washer sowing seeds of doubt.

@@willp.8120 Macarthur and Paul Washer are excellent preachers. Their message has always been the same: if you are saved, it will be evident by your fruits. If you have no fruits, and no remorse when you sin, then you may need to examine yourself a little closer.

There is so much access to information about Christianity now. You have people sharing their Christian testimonies and people telling their deconstruction testimonies. You have teachers giving their interpretations of the Bible saying theirs is right when every interpretation can be contradicted by something in the Bible. Then you have the horrific stories in the Old Testament that all the Christian teachers ignore like Numbers 31 that could be brushed under the rug in the past.

@@tororosso7046 Fruits are not an accurate indicator of whether one is saved or not. There are many devout Roman Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Calvinists, Arminians, etc, etc, who all have "fruit" in their lives all in the name of Jesus Christ, but are not saved as they all have another "Jesus" that front loads/back loads works into the salvation equation. There are some saved Christians who are totally paralyzed full body and bedridden 24/7 who cannot produce any fruit at all, but they are saved if they believe on Christ and His finished work on the cross. You don't know MacArthur well at all as he is a false teacher who teaches that one can take the mark of the beast and still be saved. This false teaching blatantly goes against Revelation 14:9-11. MacArthur also denies that children can be saved and also denies the blood atonement of Christ as far back as 1976. On September 25, 1990 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Brewer, Maine (Rev. Larry Pawson, pastor), John MacArthur was involved in a question and answer session which was publicly taped. During that session he said the following about child salvation: "Now let me say this and I don’t want you to panic when I say it. Saving faith is an ADULT ISSUE. Saving faith is an ADULT EXPERIENCE. Salvation is an ADULT EXPERIENCE. Am I saying that a child cannot be saved? I’m saying that salvation is a conscious turning from sin to follow Jesus Christ with an understanding of something of the sinfulness of sin, its consequences and something of who Jesus Christ is, what He has provided and that I’m committing my life to Him. At what point can a child understand that?...I tell parents that salvation is an adult decision....There is no illustration in Scripture of childhood salvation. There is none. People want to throw the Philippian jailer and his household; well that’s talking about his servants so there is no reference there about his children. In his commentary on the book of Hebrews, Moody Press, 1983 MacArthur denies the blood atonement of Christ 13 times within a span of 3 pages: (pages 236-238) MacArthur states, "Blood is a SYMBOL of death, and therefore follows closely the idea of a testator's having to die in order for a will to become effective. ... "It is possible to become morbid about Christ's sacrificial death and preoccupied with His suffering and shedding of blood. It is especially possible to become unbiblically preoccupied with the physical aspects of His death. It was not Jesus' physical blood that saves us, but His dying on our behalf, which is SYMBOLIZED by the shedding of His physical blood. ... "The purpose of the blood was to SYMBOLIZE sacrifice for sin, which brought cleansing from sin. Therefore, without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. The below Scriptural passages show how utterly WRONG MacArthur is. Whether MacArthur and his followers realize it or not, the denial of Christ's blood means that there will be no redemption, and they in essence are offering the fruits of their labor like Cain back in Genesis. That is WORKS SALVATION which is very rampant in all the false denominations within mainstream Christianity. Romans 5:6 - For when we were yet without strength, in due time CHRIST DIED FOR THE UNGODLY. God didn't tell the Israelites to hang the physical body of the lamb on the doorposts. This is very significant. IT WAS THE LITERAL BLOOD, NOT THE DEATH OF THE PASSOVER LAMB AND ITS BODY. In regards to our eternal salvation however, it is BOTH the SHED BLOOD and DEATH of Christ along with His resurrection that makes the free gift of eternal salvation possible for those who believe on Him - Romans 5:6, Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and all the Scriptures that talk about His blood.

The Institutional church in most denominations teach some heresy.

If you have dementia or don't, as long as you have believed on the Lord, Jesus Christ, that is all that matters. Remembering the date you were saved through faith has no bearing on your eternal sealed status.

There are different commandments for different situations. The only commandment we need to follow for salvation is to believe the record God gave of his son, which is to believe in what Jesus did for you on the cross. For fellowship, we should love God with all our mind, body, and soul.

Do you need to love Jesus Christ or just believe in him? i.e. Does believing and loving go hand in hand?

Believe to be saved forever. John 3:16, John 3:36, 1 John 5:13. After that, you SHOULD follow his commandments as his disciple. The former is easy and instantaneous. The latter is hard and costly.

The repent part of believing the gospel is just acknowledging your sinfulness and realising you need Christ. You can only know you're saved in your own heart - if you believe in and rely on Christ

Lutheranism is just a step from Catholicism....they don't have the truth. Do you believe that baptism saves you? Do you believe works saves you?

Martin Luther in my opinion was no Christian. Although he may have done some good doesn't discount how we said some hateful things. Also look at how he treated the Anabaptists. He did exactly what Catholics were doing to the protestants in the Inquisitions or hunting them down for not adhering to their doctrines. Be careful who you believe is true. Instead read the Bible for yourself alone and study it diligently asking for God's wisdom via the Holy Spirit. Then after reading it a few times , then see if the teachings and actions of those ppl are Christian or not. Not thee other way around, Let God be true and every man a liar! Be humble enough to recognize that a certain view you may have right now could actually be wrong.
