Ivette, haven’t made a dump cake “cobbler” in years. Thanks for the reminder! You know what impressed me the most? How gracious you are to all of your viewers with suggestions. God bless you. Awesome scripture at the end. Debbie, LA, Calif.
I made this just once in my life and because of how things turned out I've never made it again. I took it to a company picnic, my hubs job. Not one single serving was eaten/taken from the pan. I took the entire thing home. I know it was good because I personally ate at least 1/3 of it. It left a "bad taste in my mouth" pun intended. It just turned me off because of how ungracious others were, imo. The store bought cookies, etc were eaten! I'll probably try this again but among my own family. Actually this wasn't the 1st time that no one has touched something that I've brought to a potluck. One Thanksgiving the 1st year my husband and I were married his family (mom, sisters, etc) put together a potluck dinner. I took an entire huge Crockpot of my delicious (if I say so myself) green beans with bacon, cooked all day, and returned home with yet again 100% of it. His family treated me like they figured I had no idea how to cook. And I am indeed an excellent cook, I love to cook! Many recipes had been taught to me by my southern grandma, from Alabama. I'd been preparing huge Thanksgiving dinners for at least 9 years prior to that one, literally everything and all from scratch, no boxed stuffing from my kitchen! No potato buds! To this day, 30 years later they still have no idea that I can prepare an excellent meal. Oh and as a side note, at least 80 company employees came down with food poisoning from the company picnic, including me. It wasn't until I'd eaten my burger that I'd realized that the "grill guy", a man at least in his 50's, had been using the same spatula to slide the raw burgers onto the grill then remove the cooked ones immediately after. Now that's someone who DOES NOT know how to cook/grill. 🤢🤮
Oh wow! I would have felt bad too that no one ate what I took to a potluck😡. Wow! Even the hubs fam huh? Never again girlie.. put me down for disposables lol. Who in their right mind didn't know not to use the same spatula???🤷♀️ just feel bad you all got sick. Thank you so much for watching beautiful 🤗😘🥀
@@gabyivette66 You're sweet, thank you! 🤗❤ Isn't that disgusting about using the same spatula for the raw ground beef (of all things!) then removing the cooked beef? Eeewwwwww!!!!! 😂😂😂 I can laugh about it now but I have to admit that after having 2 severe cases of food poisoning over the years that I'm extremely particular with food. And fyi....subscribed! 😻
Instead of chunks of butter on top, try melting the butter and drizzle on top, mixing lightly with the cake batter to eliminate any dry, powdery areas.
I remember my fiance, he said he did it that way melting it. Do you happen to know if you were to do this with cake mix and cherries, is it cherry pie filling? I'm just trying to make something he used to make for me. And since he passed away I obviously can't ask him. Any help is appreciated ☺️
Thank you! I’m definitely gonna make this for my family. I’m so busy and this quick recipe is perfect for my crazy schedule. Love the Bible verse at the end of your video! God bless
Hi Janet, your family is gonna love it. Our favorite side is the cherry side. Remember you can use any fruit of your choice. Thanks for watching beautiful 🥀
I loved the recipe and Bible verse as well and I could tell you have a very sweet spirit. Thanks for this recipe and I have hit that subscribe button. Can't wait to see more of what you do. Be forever Blessed in the Lord, stay encouraged and keep on doing His Will in your life. ✝️💜
My mom makes this exact recipe for church dinners and everybody absolutely loves it she does a few things differently though. She mixes the pie filling with crushed pineapple and then after she puts the cake and the butter on top she also adds flaked coconut and pecan pieces and it is so amazing! I don't even like coconut but with the coconut it gives an amazing crunch to the top that I love!
I made this the other night and it came out amazing! I used the Land O'Lakes squeeze bottle of butter that i had at room temp. Super easy to drizzle and less mess. Worked like a charm. So good!
You are one of the best .😊 you have everything ready and you explain everything super. No waisted time, but done excellently. AND YOUR RECEIPE IS ABSOLUTELY SUPER DELICIOUS.. THANK YOU 😉
This is first time I have seen your channel. I’m subscribing. I have never seen anyone do peach and cherry like the way you did it both but it looks great and I’m making it today. I will be praying about your back . Looking forward to more great videos. Thanks again!! Be blessed!!
Michael Williams : What she did is not COOKING!! If she had canned the peaches and cherries herself and measured out the dry ingredients from scratch, you can then call it cooking or baking……she didn’t even melt the butter! I can remember when there were no cake mixes……only cake FLOUR!
Awww she said because my baby is having a baby 🥰🥰🥰that’s so sweet.... I just had a baby so it’s cute to see how moms feel about their baby having a baby!!!🤗🤗
Congratultations mama on your precious baby. Yes girl, my daughter is my baby... her baby is my baby too. They both came from me lol, that's what my mama says about my kids too. My kids are still and will always be my babies. You should watch my videos with my son, he's the oldest..35 yrs old, but still my baby lol. Thank you so much for watching beautiful 🤗😘🥀
Ahhh. But cherry filling and a chocolate cake mix go perfectly together. Just top it with cool-whip at the end when it cools, and you’ll have a great Black Forest dessert
@@lynnentler5725 Well that would depend on how quickly you plan to serve it or otherwise apply the whipped cream freshly upon serving. Some cakes it's just impossible to not use cool whip. I bake a Christmas poke cake (which is unbelievably delicious!) and have no other choice to using cool whip. Fresh whipping cream would ruin it. It must hold up or the decorations, coconut (it's covered with coconut, to look like snow) whip cream would melt & drip off. There's definitely a "must need" for CW depending on the recipe you're using. And I'm the type of baker/cook who is a firm believer in everything being fresh, real, highest quality, a purist, but I stand by my belief in CW when needed. And yes, fresh whipped cream does sound delicious on the chocolate/cherry recipe mentioned above.
A helpful hit I just saw regarding the cake topping is to add a 1/2 cup of melted butter to the cake mix and mix together til it turns into a crumble then sprinkle it over the fruit. (Instead of the dry cake mix with the pats of butter) It makes for a more even topping. Thanks for sharing your dessert.
Hello,it looks awesome so I will be trying it and since you are a believer in our Lord I will be praying for your back, thank you and I hope u r feeling better soon.
Amen, thank you so much for your prayers. you are gonna love this dessert, remember that you can use any fruit of your choice. thanks for watching beautiful ;)
Awww, I love this comment, I'm so happy that you feel like I'm right there with you. That's how I come off, as your friend in the kitchen. Thanks for watching 🤗😘🥀
Just like you..I don't get it. If this person is into keto and intermittent fasting, why are they even watching this video?!!!🤦♀️🤷♀️ thanks Joe for watching🤗😉👍
Hello Evy, I try your recipe last night the dump cake it was a hit my company loved it, and I was proud to say my sister in Christ shared it with me thank you so much sister and I am continue to pray for your back thank you🙋
Next time try my mother in laws recipe: 9x12 also, use spread 1 can of drained crushed pineapple in the bottom of a sprayed dish. add 1 cup (or less) finely chopped walnuts add the cherry filling all over. from there the recipe is like yours.
I just subscribed. This is the first time I have watched your videos. You are awesome. You have a patient voice. I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos. Have a Blessed day!
Awww, you're so sweet. I've never had anyone tell me I have a patient voice... if you only knew that I'm so opposite of being patient lol. Thank you so much for watching beautiful 🤗🥀
Yes you can.. this recipe is so easy and moist!!! You'll need; 1box of cake mix (any flavor) 1 can of soda. (you can use any flavor soda you want) That's it. Mix together well, pour in pan and cook at temperature listed on box, for like 30 minutes. So moist and yummy, you won't need frosting! Use like orange soda with white cake mix. Or use root beer with white or choc cake.. etc ..
@@sherahbrown1411 yes you can.. just follow the cooking directions on the box but only add cake mix and one can soda. It's moist and delicious. Don't even need frosting.
Hay mira. I was looking for new recipes for my family and I came across your channel. New sub for sure. I love your demeanor. Very calm and soothing. You have that Christ love pouring out of you. Se te ve en la cara. Anyways looking forward to watching more vids. God bless!
Thank you beautiful, this comment means so much to me, it made me cry. There's a Christian song that says LET THEM SEE YOU IN ME... and this comment reminded me of this beautiful song. thank you so much🤗😘🥀
My Mom has made this since I was a child . We add whipped cream on top before serving because my Papaw had dairy cows and the fresh cream was awesome !
Yes I also like to add spices to my dump cake, I have used the canned 🍑 peaches in there on juice not heavy syrup. Then mix in a canned 🍍 pineapple you only need of the 2 cans to have the juice from. So you can drink the pineapple if you like.
I am going to try this amazing recipe tonight for friends. Try a microwaveable heating pad in a towel - hot but not burning and put it on your back for 30 min on and at least 30 min off for your back. There are microwaveable tie around waste or shoulder types and you can use it while standing. It helps the muscles of your back! All natural.. feel better and many prayers for your back
thank you Randy, this is what i'll do from now on. thank God i haven't had anymore back pain. thank you so much for all of your help, really appreciate you. thanks for watching
Just a suggestion before you add your yellow cake mix sprinkle a teaspoon of cinnamon over the entire fruit and a little bit of nutmeg on the peaches .3cheers from Canada
@@joannebacot3607 I agree, margarine is terrible. I remember being shocked as to how it was created and what for. I suppose it's okay, on occasion but I prefer butter.
I've tried this recipe with peaches. Will definitely try with the cherry filling. You can also use the squeeze bottle of butter. Just squeeze entire bottle over the cake. Thanks for sharing!!
This dump cake will taste really good with the spice cake/butter cake mixes as well. A crockpot works well if you don’t have time or have it cook while you’re at work or something else. Freeze your butter (2 sticks) then grate it over the top evenly. I also sprinkle a little cinnamon on after I put the butter on. All add according to your taste. Enjoy!
I am 63 years old I rember making this YEARS ago, wow thanks for sharing. It is so easy to make, I am going to make this soon. mmm 👍 good💞I enjoyed your presentation
I just turned 60! I've never heard of these dump cakes until the commercial on TV 😄 I'm going to make more of them!😋 I love everyone's ideas. I'm in Montana!😊 Are you in the US Jennifer? 💖
@@jlove7839 Well it's nice to meet you. I'm just an old cat lady 😻. 5 of them! They are my babies. I hope you don't live where the weather is so horrendous... like Houston. I pray for the people who do. If you're on Facebook look me up. Maybe we can chat, one old lady to another. Take care.💖👍😊
I used melted sweet cream butter (so I don't get the dry cake mix on top) But its just what I prefer. Everyone is different...Also I use the Betty Crocker Super Moist Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix and instead of 1 can of cherries I used 2 cans of the Lucky Leaf Organic Cherry pie filling (again just what I prefer) in the same size pan...then while it is still warm I put a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top....Tastes so much like a Black Forrest cake but a heck of alot easier!
Butter or margarine works perfect for this! Yummm, I love how you made a 1/2-1/2 version of the cherry and peach vs having to make a full pan of each...clever!
@@gabyivette66 Sis, I think they're calling Genifer a "crybaby", but they need to understand everyone has different income levels. That doesn't make them a "crybaby". Sheesh!
Evy you have inspired me to bake , I’m not a baker my daughter makes all the desserts ... your receipt looks fun n easy. I’m making it tonight ... thank U for sharing 😇🙏. New subscriber
Made this for dessert tonight - it's a hit! The only thing I switched was I used 🍎 apple filling, and added some cinnamon. Yummers! 😍 Thanks for sharing your recipe!
Mmmm, "I'm going to rinse this off" (me) licking the peach syrup off, then rinse!😁 Thanks for posting, great idea, if people dont like one, or other fruit!
Never thought about grating the butter. I guess it would be easier to spread on top, like shredded cheese. I do keep my extra butter in the freezer, so it's ready to go.
Ivette Montalvo My Mom may she RIP, made homemade peach cobbler in her cast iron dutch oven when I was a kid. I never paid enough attention, my lil' sis did. And now I don't have to ask her how to make it. I don't love to bake like my Mom and lil' sis, so this is perfect for me.♡ I can't wait to make this. God is good.
So this looks like a quick easy dessert to do while going through this COVID isolation. I have all the items in my pantry. I wouldn’t call it a cobbler though. Lol! Girl! Lol
Different regions of the US have varied recipes for cobbler. Some are more cakey others are more pie crusty some are more like fruit with biscuits on top.
Call it what you want, but its a yummy easy treat to make, even with the kids, especially as we're all "stay at homing". I have all the ingredients in my pantry and I'm sure many of us do...thanks for this yummy "cobbler" dessert
My family puts crushed pineapple on the bottom and walnuts on top. If you make an all cherry onea chocolate cake is good. We also like blueberry pie filling with a lemon cake mix.
I just wanted to say, I have seen so many recipes for Dump cakes, yours by far was very simple, and I made it for the first time on Sunday...I did melt the salted butter and poured over the cake mix per one of your comments that was left...the salt and sugar is crazy good! Thanks for posting this, I will try the cherry next Sunday!
I can't wait to make your version. It looks so yummy. If you want to try instead of butter you use whipped cream cheese in a room temperature. The cake box mix, mixed iz with half a cup of melted butter. 3.50 dg. Half an hour until it gets golden brown. Yes of course Vanila Ice Cream with it.. Yummy.. GOD Bless you as well. Many thanks for sharing your delicious recepies.
OH yummmmmm, that looks delicious and thank you sooo much for plating it at the end so we could see the inside yumminess!!! I'm going to make this!! :-)
hi caroll, you can use any fruits of your choice. some ppl also like the cherry and pineapple combo. i've never tried it but..i will be trying it soon. thanks for watching beautiful ;)
Margaret deVries You are so welcome, what would we do without prayers, and thank you for the receipt,I will do peaches in mine, since it’s my favorite fruit and I know I will enjoy every bite I take.
@rustylee98 Now I drain the pineapple into a sauce pan and add the stick of butter to it. I heat it on medium until the butter is melted. I don't mix the pineapple with pie filling, just layer it on the pie filling then spoon the juice/butter mixture over the top of the cake mix.
Hi Ivette 😀I have tried this it is very good I didn't freeze my butter because I made it before I saw the way you do it, but I did subscribe just now it is July 18th 2019 I hope to see more from you thank you and may God Bless you❤
Ivette never said it was keto. If you are looking keto friendly recipes, you need to search lo carb and sugar free recipes. Ivette, keep doing what you do. You are a beautiful person and you shared a dessert that is both simple and so good and you shared your tips that have made it better for you and your family ❤️ Good job and Good video 👍 keep sharing, dear sister in Christ!
Hi Nance, I did use the 9x13 dish.. and yes I used all the butter. What works better... if you put the butter on the cake mix in another separate bowl, mix then pour over the fruit. Thank you so much for watching beautiful and say to the kiddos for me.🥰🥰🥰
If you mix the melted butter in another container with the cake mix is alot better and all the cake mix would get cover with the butter. Thats how i do it.
