This annoyed me as well. The temps are supposed to exceed 150F in the sun, and dude's jogging around with bare shoulders and a backpack like this is a Baja Beach Fun Run. Both the book and the movie make a point of saying you cannot survive outside in the sun without a stillsuit, and *everyone* wears some form of them.

Not in lore, the zen Sunni slaves that escaped from Poratran survived for months without stillsuits as did the original Zen Sunni settlers. It's just horribly inefficient. Whether they have stillsuits is dependent upon when this game takes place.

Established lore rule in dune universe, due to machine rebellion, "Butlerian Jihad". In trailer you can see some kind of fabricator, machine to create items from ingredients, which probably require advanced computer. This could be lore mistake of devs.

How are wheeled vehicles even a thing when the sand worms just pop up? If you wanted vehicles just make them all flying vehicles which is what they would be. They obviously dropped it because of the movie release suppose.

They said in the interview that wheeled vehicles will obviously attract worms but they can be outpaced if you time it right. The flying vehicles are obviously the ideal, that’s why you have to build up to those by starting on foot, moving to wheeled vehicles, and so on.

Dune is a universe probably where few things can be gamefied unless you take a certain genre-be-damned position and understand the scope of the themes and story. But here's a spitball, Conversations and combat with other characters are played out by a cardgame mechanic which stylistically emphasizes the internal mind work of different factions of characters. Slow paced planetary supply line management vs Harkonen/Choam/Sardaukar investigation. Not familiar with later books but Imm getting there

it'd be interesting to have enemies that can't be fought with ranged weapons due to the shields and you'd have to engage in Melee

Shields don’t work in the desert due to worms. Perhaps maybe in Arrakeen there will be more options for melee fights

Patch Note #1: * We have reduced the frequency of sandworms spawning inside of player buildings during a coriolis storm. * Players will hopefully no longer recieve a penalty in reputation with the Sardaukar for triggering a sandworm attack in the Deep Desert. * Adjustments have been made to the way shields work when seated as a passenger in Ornithopters to prevent players from using them to create makeshift nuclear missiles and griefing other players.
