Yeah, I chose the new RoboCop game over spiderman 2 and I couldn't be happier. I'm honestly sick of the direction that new AAA games are going.

@@shadearcahonestly I love Dungeons 4 but there was a couple of lines that stood out. Primarily one where Thalya called Thanos old white man once. Just an odd thing to throw in.

I like WftO enough, but one thing Dungeons has over it is room efficiency. If a room has any openings it loses 10% per open tile. You can correct this with doors. Efficiency is a variable that determines resource speed. Due to efficiency you have to plan out your rooms to avoid downtime. Unfortunately WftO never implemented efficiency so I'd just clear out everything and throw rooms down so my creatures could just go anywhere quick. It cut back on planning. There's obviously a lot of other differences.

I agree about the Undead. I ended up going with just Horde and Demons in the last few levels because the Undead are useless until you have a few vamp queens unlocked, since they can't heal without sleeping. They're also underpowered until you have a temple built and stocked for minions. I would rather focus on 2 factions to maximise levels and exp gain so that's why I didn't use them in the end. But when I did play with the Undead they were definitely the best with vamp queens and minions (and maybe a few undead heroes).

I love the undead at high levels but Demons are very powerful early on and stay powerful. Doing missions as Demons made it far easier to get achievements frankly. The gazer is so useful and the imp has a great range attack on top of it. Once they level up they're like a hot knife through butter. I cut through maps that I had to struggle with when it came to Horde or Undead at low levels. Biggest issue is you're screwed if you have no evil for reviving.

@@geneanthony3421 I went back to get the achievements for The Duel.. mission and used Demons and it was such a cake walk using them. Tanos's HP bar just evaporated under their firepower. I don't think Gorgu even hit 90% by the end. Undead are tanky AF and have very little needs upkeep. Demons are insanely powerful for damage but have the lowest defense and require Evil to resurrect and a fair amount of needs. I haven't done much with just Horde, but I'm gonna be messing with them next. They did an outstanding job of balancing the three factions to both stand strong on their own as well as work extremely well in tandem with each other.

@@skyesfury8511 I like them all for their own reasons, but when I want to get my accomplishments they’re far easier. Undead are fun later. Horde get pretty powerful powerful but really suck if you can’t build them up. Undead and demons together work well though.

War For The Overworld has the possession spell so you can control a minion in first person.

Possession never made sense to me due to it completely changing the dynamic of the game. I hate 1st person games, so why would I want it merged in a game that has nothing to do with it?

@WorthABuyreviews they're very wacky games. I'm not sure they would be up your street. Best played in Japanese with English subs. The side content is very funny but the main story is good (but that's cause I'm very invested in the games now) They're kind of ARPG/JRPG style. A smidge of GTA feeling but very small sand box. 100s of hours of content

dungeons 3 had more stuff to micro manage like demons needed to make mana, horde for beer, etc, but after beating d4, d3 is the simpler game. in d3, you just need 1 isle of evilness and you can turtle up and get unlimited evil. you could beat every map on hellish with just arachnids, which you could unlock at the start of a map. d4 requires the player to be more proactive. you only get evilness by destroying good or a late game tech with the torture chamber. since all jobs are done by snots, you need to manage them better or you'll get bottlenecked fast. there's a lot more, but i think you get the idea. also, these games in general were never deep to begin with.

@@iamdopeasfcuk I felt like Dungeons 2 had more depth and the humor was more on point. The games have been getting more features true but it did casualize some bits which is continuing even harder in 4. Dungeons 2 having demons, undead, and evil be their own factions is an example of having more depth. Instead since 3 they have been all lumped together which removes the need to add new creatures to fill out each of their rosters and playstyles. Dungeons 2 was also a slower game compared to 3 and presumably 4. Slowness in technology and production, and upgrading breeds strategic thinking. The larger map for 4 and the Evilness mechanics in 3 are welcome changes but it doesn't change the fact that some things have been simplified and casualized once 3 was released. My hope is that the positives added by 4 is able to get the series closer to the quality of 2. Basically my point was that 2 was better than 3 and I was worried that 4 would continue a downward trajectory. And it does seem to be the case from this review that some things did get more casualized, but the question is whether it adds enough to at least turn out closer to 2 and perhaps surpass it.

@@darken2417 Having your soldiers do manual labor is not added complexity, it is an artificial difficulty increase. You literally have actual slaves but sure the Naga that you already pay in gold, food, and shelter has to brew its own beer...

It actually IS Dwarfs. Dwarves was made popular by the Lord of the Rings and other works by Tolkien. But prior to that,the standard plural of dwarf,was dwarfs.

Might not work. Most all of the DLCs for Dungeons 3 have received poor reviews.
