Yes some personal experiences with two fantastic tires.
They are in slightly different categories based on the manufacturer's development.However, they do offer very similar sizes, so can be used mostly for sport bike, sport touring, naked bikes, and a some adventure bikes.

The reasons I chose the RS4 is #1 the APPEARANCE...the Road looks like there is less rubber with all the wide sipes. The RS4s last me right about 3300 miles mostly twisties. Also I dont ride in the rain. Now I ALSO have read complaints that the road 5 suddenly can let go if you are really really pushing where the RS spme say might not be as sticky but gives better warning. I dont know if the RS slowed me down on my Tracer 9gt but I DID immediately notice that where on the OEM B Stone T32 I used the ENTIRE rear tire edge to edge with the RS I have always maintained a little chicken strip of maybe 1/8" eventually ....took a bit to get my confidence where for some reason I innately trusted the the T32s which I think of as high milage S22s ....btw my OE S22s on my MT-10? what a JOKE! Yes they are WONDERFUL tires but 600 miles I was to the rear damn wear bar! By 900miles that OE rear was too dangerous to leave on another mile! By 1500 the front OE looked like a maul edge! REALLY sharp VEE with just a narrow bit of stell deeper center tread....I doubt there is any great tires for high miles riding twisties Pirelli Diabl Rosso 4 rear on the MT 10 "lasted" 1300 miles if you count it being TOTALLY bald by then! Still was 400 miles more than the OE tire And I never liked the Pirellis cause they are so tall profiled and I am shat at setting suspension ride height etc

Great breakdown. Here's the thing, when I'm riding twisties, yes, I'm riding hard. But I'm getting wear from 95% of my tires. So my question is, why are you only getting 3300 miles when I'm on 4k miles and still have 75% life left? 85% of my riding is on long straight roads at high speeds which kills center life and creates squaring off (RS4's have had the least of this thankfully). And yeah, my s22's were awesome...for 1,000 miles ):

Who else HATES hearing all the folks saying they get 8 ot 10k miles of the same tires we twisty riders only get 1500 -3k on? ...damn unfair lol I dont want to hear it!

Who HATES hearing you get to ride twisty roads all the time !#$^%^& LOL, what I would not give to say this! We go to the Smokies/Blue Ridge area twice a year for 4 or 5 days of hardcore riding. The rest is booooring Florida miles. Enjoy!

So torn! If i should go sport touring, which id get the rs 4. Or a tire like rosso4, power 5, s23. 2024 street triple rs. Dont care a ton about wet grip as u would be avoiding it. But i wont be riding super aggressively so i want a tire that maintains grip. Also the roads arent very good in my state, so i want something that will handle uneven pavement smoothly. Any advice?

Sadly, the US roads are falling apart everywhere, we used to be the envy of the world. To me the 2 main differences in the 'tour' tires are 1) They are def heavier. You can feel it vs full blown hypersport tyre. But nothing 'game changing' for me. The hypersport tyres also feel like they are 'sticky' like track tires whereas the mileage tire give a more neutral feedback. I slightly prefer the rs4 feedback as the 'sticky' feeling is not always best for me on the streets. To answer your question, I am super happy with my RS4s. Only complaint, I am seeing how long they last before I test another tire and I can't wear them out!!! I do have a set of Corsa's on my other bike and they are exactly as I described. Sticky. Not neutral feeling. They do feel great, though. Very similar to the Power 5s. I am a former racer so that hypersport tire is a familiar feeling to me. Dunlop has the most aggressive deals right now and if you go hypersport, slap on the q5s before end of the month. They will get you $120 rebate too! RS4's still have $60 rebate and again, that would be my recommendation!

@EvMc305 Thank you so much for the detailed reply! Yea I'm heavily leaned towards the rs4. I'm not super concerned about milage more so how it feels and handles the road. And I've pretty much only seem great things about the dunlop. I lived in California in the Marine Corps when I had my last bike, couldn't ask for better riding as I'm sure you know. Riding the Malibu canyons and Mulholland are still some of my highlights. It's not 14 years later and I just got my second bike finally, now living in South Carolina, flat and bad roads lol. But I can get to some mountains about 3 hours away :) I'll be happy just cruising around in the country for awhile as I get back into it!

@@pines2000 oh goodness...I cut through SC to get to the NC/TN twisties and yeah, those roads are THE worst! If you aren't concerned about mileage, Q5S is a crazy great deal. Wish I were only 3 hours from twisties. Ride safe!

@@EvMc305An now wondering if I should look for softer sidewall tires. Reading a thing about dunlop and bridgestone having stiffer sidewalls and metzler/pirelli being softer. The m9rr and rosso 4 are very interesting to me. I just know I want something that heats up quick or doesn't have to be heated up really. I tend to always over analyze and get myself into these situations lol. Sorry for all this. I care about how the tire feels, grips, and handles bumps more than miles or wet.

@@pines2000 I also research the heck out of things...all these tires GRIP amazing. You won't be looking for grip! I do believe that the less demand for pure performance the easier the tires can do their 'thing'. The warm up time on the RS4 and Road 5/6's is ridiculously fast. Likely a bit faster than the hypersports, but those are also fast. For caution, assume a couple of minutes, my real world experience is under 2 minutes unless the roads themselves are cold IE 60 degree ambient temp and below, add an extra minute or so.

There is absolutely no way you got 2500 miles out of a power 5 im over 4k miles on my rosso 3 much more of a sticker softer compound and can probably squeeze in another 500 to 1000 miles out of it before switching them seems odd 🤨

Rossos are definitely more durable. Very underrated. This was also on a ninja 1000sx which is considerably heavier than your gixxer.

My Rosso rear was TOTALLY DONE at 1300miles I mean edge to edge bald and stupid I kept it so long! It is all about where and how you ride you cant compare tires except SAME rider SAME routes SAME pace my backyard is the twisties I basically only ride twisties it just destroys tires fast....the only way to make tires last is with a lot of vertical straightish miles and not much spirited pace. Spirited twisty riding just scrubs the rubber off with every tilt in and out of turns due to the changing diameter contacting asphalt at same speed...SOMETHING has to give! and it is NOT the asphalt!
