I'd love to see a video on that home brew welding positioner

I made one of those for removing dust caps on steering idler arms. Found a large metric socket in my 3/4" drive Harbor Freight socket set. Then applied a bit of heat shrink tubing over the cap and that made a tight fit for the socket and is also protects the finish on the cap. The heat shrink stays inside the socket after the first use. Shove in a socket extension and it works great, just pop it on the dust cap with a tap from the end then whack the end of the extension to the side and off pops the cap. To see it in action, check out around 2 mins. into this video on my channel: "Toyota 4WD/IFS Idler Arm Upgrade, Part 1" But yes, once you have a tool to do that job, it's so easy.

Enjoyed the video. Agree with DumbCarGuy when can we see more under vehicle action, I miss it too. By-the-by, did you get your eye roller part repaired?

Definitely a must have for any tool box. I see a lot of these missing on axles probably from being beaten on

You can get an inexpensive rotary from Vevor the 10kg one is under 300 euro. The heavier the more expensive. The 50KG is 620 euro. Nice looking unit.

I did see the vevor one after I posted this video. I really like the quick release chucks, which is why i posted the picture of the one in the video.

Add a hobby motor with a rubber band and a variable resistor to make a very one-off rotary positioner 😅

Very nice, really. So when am I going to get to see you press out bushings, replace springs and work under vehicles in your pit again? I miss that stuff. Don't make me go somewhere else.

DOM (drawn over mandrel) tubing is legit for this kinda thing. H/T make it kustom

I need your advise on my 15 F350 single rear. It has a utility bed on it and it’s constantly riding on the overload springs. Is there a heavier duty spring pack available anywhere to fix this? Thank you.

there are a few options. If it came into my shop I would give the customer a couple different ways to fix this issue. 1. 43-1717 is a F450 rear spring, it usually lifts the vehicle about 1.5" and will give you some clearance for your helper springs. 2. add an extra leaf in the spring pack. This will ride a little rougher when empty compared to the HD springs, however because of the weight of the flat bed on the truck, you won't notice too much. 3. Air bags. these would be my least idea suggestion because you would probably be running at 30-40 PSI just with no load on it, and would have to pump it up to 70-80 when you have a load in it, it would be annoying and would require more work each time you load the vehicle, and if you add a compressor it would be the most expensive option as well. Extra leaf would be the cheapest new springs would be the best/middle price air bags would be the most work, but if you add the compressor, would be the most expensive. So, lots of options.

Set up your parts so you can just reach over and put them together without having to flip up your helmet every time. You're losing time when you have to raise your helmet to set up for making the next remover tool.

good idea for when I put these into actual production. We'll be making about 50-100 in a batch, so any time savings will help
