Having a small shop means necessary innovation. That's what I've done here in the ongoing battle to control dust in my shop. Making dust collection easy means that I'll use it more often - even for small cuts.

Outstanding! A question: air leakage at the port-switching fixture? And a suggestion: everything I have seen recommends against hard 90 degree bends in dust hose or pipe. Some 45 degree bends or long radius 90s might help airflow. Best wishes!

The suction closes up the gap on the slider. This could be done better, but it will have to stay as is for now. On to other things!

These are great ideas! Thank you for sharing. I came here for the manifold idea but like the drill press attachment as well. How long are the different runs for the vacuum piping? Do you notice a big drop in suction?

You can see that they are pretty short runs - 3 or 4 ft plus the length of the Ridgid vac hose. The drill press hose is about 6 ft and it is a smaller diameter so it has stronger suction. Haven't really noticed any reduction in the suction. Thanks for watching.
