I still remember that time in puppet's bunker where my entire alliance was killed because the other alliance had aimed their robot's laser at us. I laughed so hard at that I don't even care if it was on purpose lol

Unpopular opinion: I absolutely love the choas of the Nier raids and love the occasion break from the monotony of Crystal Tower raids. Edit: Didn't expect so many people to agree with me.

at 21:10 you mention the stairways that go nowhere, but if you look at your map the pathway to the Red Girl boss makes a "14". Just a fun little detail they decided to put in.

nier raids take about 30 minutes even on Aether during prime time hours, they need to stop people from being able to force crystal tower in alliance raids roulette, its killing all of the alliance raids past heavensward.

Honestly, the fact that you died a few times due to not remembering every single mechanic from 2 years ago made me feel better. For so long I've had this idea in my head that everyone except me somehow just never forgets old content and it's always caused a small bit of anxiety when I jump in to roulettes while leveling alt-jobs etc. Maybe I can let some of that go now and just try to enjoy it.

I was gonna say the Neir raids are probably gonna go a bit better because of being the moogle tome raids last patch but it looks like there's still plenty of pain to be had.

I absolutely love the NieR Alliance Raids. Yes it's abaolute chaos but especially for the music i always love going through it

I once had a DRK in CF that gathered and lived through 9 vuln stacks on 9S. Those were the best 2 minutes of my healer queue.

I really hope to see an Ivalice Raid version of this someday. Those raids were brutal when they came out and I enjoyed bashing my head against the wall with Hashmal and the Thunder God. I'm sure some people are gonna flunk at the Math Boss and we'll have fun voice clips to joke around with.

The entire dps section of the party getting smoked at the start of puppets bunker was pure comedy gold and damn near made me choke on my dinner.

During the last Moogle Treasure Trove, I (and I suspect many others) did the Nier raids so many times that many mechanics became muscle memory. I think doing this experiment this soon after the event made it less of a gong show than it otherwise could have been, plus it looked like two people made for fairly competent safety doritos in Copied Factory and Paradigm’s Breach. As long as most people caught on to following the herd (something I’ve always relied on when I don’t remember the fight, especially during 24-player raids), they were okay. Now, even though I SAY that by the end of the Treasure Trove I knew all the fights by heart, there are still some mechanics in Puppet’s Bunker that for the life of me I still don’t understand (e.g. how the drones and screens work when both types of aoes overlap during the fight against the tank), and for that reason, I still think it’s the biggest crapshoot of all the 24-player raids. First timers are also prone to accidental PVPing, especially with the stack markers during the 3-airship fight. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been sniped there. 😵‍💫 Still, I think there’s a certain amount of weird personal gratification you get playing as a healer, actually remembering the mechanics (or making lucky guesses), and then living to sweep the bodies off the floor (especially those who clearly have no idea what they’re doing and seem to die to every mechanic). It’s painful, certainly, and definitely when your co-healer is new and any rez-mages are oblivious to rezzing, but somehow that makes it fun, in a weird masochistic way? At least it heightens the chance that I get to use my super-pretty Astro LB3. 💫 Anyway, please keep up the good work - watching other people (and yourself) ride the strugglebus makes for good entertainment. I think if you really want to suffer, you should try out the Ivalice raids next. Never ceases to amaze me how many people don’t remember math class - or overlapping mechanics from previous fights.

As a healer main can agree, that one person eating it constantly can just leave me feeling exhausted

This is so relatable. Nowadays, I only queue into duty finder as healer, hoping for as much chaos as possible so I don't fall asleep XD So many DPS jobs are just boring to play under level 90 and I can't take it anymore.

Something about a slightly different mic input with a deadpan MrHappy saying "It's day 3" is just comedy to me

I really like these video, it makes me not feel so bad at how I play , sometimes it’s fun when it’s all crazy and people die.

I did this for the first time the other day and had absolutely no idea what was going on. I prefer to do content before watching guides or there's no surprise or wonder in it at all and ofc my first time I can easily die 6 times.

Every time I got Puppet's Bunker I would yell in chat "50 Gil if you put me in your pocket!" at the final boss when they turned into the giant robobabe.

1 thing i really dislike with the old raids and the new ones too is that the bosses dies so fast u dont even get to see all their attacks

WHM main here. Can confirm the stress of trying to save everyone is exactly what makes healer fun (and gives us a god complex). Having to watch everyone's health bar after every single mechanic is the healer rotation. The class is boring as HECK when everyone knows what they're doing. Nier raids are great for healing because half the mechanics are almost impossible to dodge unless you remember it from before... so I'm using more resources than in Extreme or in even Savage and it all feels recoverable. Some of my favorite content.

I think the reason NieR raids took so long at the start of Endwalker was the ilvl sync making the sub stats of gear worse than the gear people mainly had at the end of Shadowbringers. Now that people have gear that’s ilvl 620+ the substats given from ilvl sync is a lot more comparable to the gear we had in shadowbringers the fights go a lot faster than at the start of endwalker. We’re probably gonna have the same issue with the EW Alliances at the start of the next expansion.

This isn’t necessarily a suggestion for a duty to do on this series, but I just feel like sharing a relevant anecdote from earlier today I was main tanking Zurvan, died, got rezzed, ate his phase transition and had HP in the sub-1%. Okay, whatever, mix of factors, may even be my fault. But what happens next… Because there’s no way in hell I can survive his autos, I decide “Alright, I’ll let the off-tank pick up aggro” and resume going through the motions of DPSing … … …Why the fuck does that Red Mage have a Tankbuster on them? Realising my cotank is stanceless, I picked up aggro in a panic while the healers rezzed the RDM, hoping to prevent any further disasters - my own survival be damned. And then we wiped to Infinite Fire/Ice. So the second time around I just silently LB2’d it and we cleared Those weren’t the only shenanigans in that instance; we had a reaper die to the falling platforms in phase 1 literally immediately, ran straight into it, and there was some general chicanery and weird behaviour with Soar, but the standouts are definitely my cotank asleep at the wheel and the Infinite Fire/Ice wipe in the aftermath as everyone gradually lost their grip on the situation and the poor healers couldn’t keep up with with shenanigans

I predict Copied Factory going relatively okay but the other two being quite painful. Well I was right about pain on those queue times. Having competent tanks in Paradigm's Breach helps a LOT to prevent wipes, though. :P

5 months later and I've finally completed the nier raids, so I can finally finish this video lol. I only just graduated from sprout, so these duties are very funny and relatable. Also, a good chance to learn about a few things. hope to see more

For puppet's bunker, often people don't stay with their parties, get targeted for the stack markers and wipe other alliances.

I get the feeling you'd get faster queues earlier in the day; the people I know do their roulettes first, and social and raiding in the evening so chances are people are doing other stuff and aren't filling alliance raid queues.

I just finished farming Copied Factory for the healer hat; it took 23 runs over three days (queues were anywhere from twenty minutes to two hours) and I am pretty sure I used revive more in that one instance than in the entirety of my leveling career. I feel the paaaaiiiiiin..

If only you could of done this with my FC.. We used to do them each night these raids last month for glams for like, 3 months in a row. People would go out of their way to see who can get the most Vuln. stacks or kill others via "PvP Lasers" . Doing these raids with them made me learn far better my Sage skills and why they make me regret agreeing to healing them some nights.

Healer main myself, I love jumping into the Nier raids. They're chaotic but a lot of fun!

Healing the nier raids is absolutely funny in the sense of absolute chaos. Nothing makes me feel more alive going from like raid nights to 24 mans like the niers and orbone monastary.

I actually play healer a lot… now I’ll be upfront with this… I actually have NEVER been in Alliance A or B for Euphrosyne. I always get group C and almost 60% of the time, both Alliance A healers die and I end up resurrecting them multiple times each run. I actually had an alliance A healer call me out, saying they don’t deserve me after the 5th or 6th time I resurrected them. Look, if you are a healer wearing anything other than white… you are hurting yourself! Because when I see dead players in white on the ground in an alliance, there’s a 100% chance I’m going to resurrect you no matter what.

I did an all healer raid of that alliance raid. It was quite the hilarious catastrophe and so much fun.

I just ran all three helping my brother to get clears for the three raids. All three had incredibly lengthy queue times, nearly an hour for each. The first two raids were easy enough but the third one had a number of wipes.

iirc the estimated queue time is more along the lines of 'it took this long for the last person who queued up for this" than "its gonna take about this long for the queue"

My husband once spawned into Copied factory as a tank and asked his healer if he could collect vulns to see how high they get. They let him, and it was 16 on the final. AND HE ALMOST LIVED THE WHOLE TIME

He also has a video for a series of outtakes from RE5, also hilarious. =^.^= My introduction to Nier was actually the raids in FFXIV, so I didn't have that experience or recognition for them prior to FFXIV. However, I'm a big Resident Evil fan, so on top of the Wesker/saturation bit, the final boss in Puppet's Bunker always make me think of Carla's mutated form in RE6.

Just started playing FF14 a couple months ago, so it'll be my first time doing this raid set in a couple days. Wish me luck! (Video was hilarious)

I recently did the NieR raids for the first time and I got REALLY lucky. As a DPS, I had to wait 25 minutes for the first one, 10 minutes for the second one and 30 minutes for the third one. ... As a DPS. So your waiting times surprise me. Different continent and server might be the factor here, but still...

Not to endorse these kinds of players, but this stuff is why I enjoy playing healer. The role, outside of harder content, gets pretty boring without the chaos.

Lol Ive found that the Neir raids reliably show up in roulette after midnight EST. I love running roulette then because i enjoy these raids, and most people know the mechs and have very few deaths.

I really wish FF14 would do something similar to WoW for alliance raids. There's tons of people in an alliance raid, if one or two end up declining or it takes a while to find the last couple of players needed to fill all available slots, it should still let you in. Being short one damage dealer for example isn't gonna make the raid impossible, and someone's probably gonna join mid-raid anyway, so its no big deal. Also Nier raids best alliance raids. Followed very closely by EW's, followed by a tie between HW's and STB's and finally base games.

I play healer in FF14 and the nier raids are the hardest of them all . Very fun because i always have something to do as a healer. It's peak FF14 content

Oh man, every time I see that alliance raid roulette has landed me in Paradigm's Breach I ready putting on the danger dorito because its usually me who survives all the mechanics(so long as its not a tank buster that I'm suddenly taking because the tank died). The biggest gripe I have with Tower is the Hansel and Gretel fight because some tank won't pull the mobs apart.

Nier raids actually pop fairly often in Alliance roulette. More than the Mhach/Void Ark and Ivalice raids, anyway.

To be fair, Copied Factory can pop fast some days because glam. I played that darn raid 6 times in one day (and an unknown number of times prior) to get the freaking casting top. Hated every minute of it, but it was worth it anyway.

If anyone ever needs to go to the Nier raids, go as rez-mage, and save yourself some trouble.

My "disaster" was I queued for Paradigm Breach and my healer...the poor dear...roulette queued and was HEALING FOR THEIR FIRST RAID. They did well, but the poor thing spent the entire raid on the verge of a panic attack.

Lmaoo I've never seen mr.happy more frustrated with queue times lol. Me too friend. Me too.

As a materia resident I feel like I can provide some insight on estimate wait times, since all of our level 51+ dungeons have times like these alliance raids. It doesn't actually mean whatever time it is. The time is an estimate of how long someone has been sitting in duty finder for it already. Nothing is scarier on materia than an under 5 minutes wait estimate because you'd better believe that isn't filling in 5, and you'll be sitting there watching the estimate tick up to match your personal wait time guessing if your patience will break before a party forms. Only crystal tower is really doable in party finder, maybe the level 60 alliance raids.

i might be wrong but i always assumed the average wait time was based on how long the person whoever has been queued longest is waiting/averages out the people currently queued wait times? mostly cos as dps i've watched it tick up every time you get two or three minutes above the average wait time til you hit the max. and now someone is gonna tell my i'm completely off base here lol

I think you are very happy Yoshi-P put down the ban hammer and fixed alliance roulette to force people who unlocked YorHa to accept they might get YorHa instead of stripping naked to get into Crystal Tower. Then you would have never had to take two weeks to get into Puppet's Bunker. XD

Lucky you that the last moogle event was Nier, so at least some players were more familiar with it XD

You think this is bad? I had full party wipes on the level 50 raids. My healers talked about how they wished it was the Nier raids but couldn't even heal for Labyrinth of the Ancients.

I have only ever done duty finder for... basically all content. I got all the NieR glam. I haven't actually had a bad time in the raids, but queue times have extended to 2+ hours. I read an entire book while in queues

Started playing FFXIV during Shadowbringers as current content in 2020, I know the encounters like the back of my hand. Always nice to revisit the Nier raids for shits and giggles, Mr. Happy! Especially during last mogtome event.. Lots of death...

For me the giant robot and the red lady are probably the most difficult bosses in the Nier Raid

as soon as I saw Nier I knew it was gonna be fun. But it was even more fun than expected (and about your average DF Nier run). Not "on release" DF but still fun nonetheless.

Bunker is easily my favorite of the three nier raids by a long shot, not a contest Copied felt too slow/boring and tower felt too scripted (I really liked Hansel and Gretel though, great use of paired mechanics for theming) But bunker you’ve got multiple instances of having to watch where you are, you’ve gotta interrupt the bot paralyze, youve got the different angles the three mechs can go at to each other, you’ve got the screens telling you if it’s line or aoe and then they shift, you’ve got the hallway of destiny or doom depending on who you ask, etc.

I never get stressed as healer, I get bored if people aren't dying lol. I also get them up very quickly and will even take care of the other alliances, especially if I see a dps has been down for too long. I usually wonder why other healers are so slow at getting people up.

wow that magic spoon stuff has to be one of the most dystopian looking processed foods I've seen. Like they proudly advertise it has none of the normal stuff you would like make this out of, and looking at it, it seems to be filled with non/low calorie sweeteners, purified milk protein, a couple vegetable oils and flavor essences

Puppets Bunker always has terrible queues, I assume because the first one has the 2B set and the last one has unique glam while the glam in Puppets Bunker is not as good or unique by comparison which means less people farm it.

You know how the que works, gotta sit and wait for 15 minutes and then when you get and do something the que will pop

I play in the Japan dc and during Moogle event I did a lot of Nier raids, feel like Japanese players are really good with the mechanics and barely anyone dies..

Neir raid series is my absolute favorite in the game and love to do then when i have nothing to do and ngl 10:37 i I’m guilty of doing that unintentionally on melee

If you want to stream true suffering, you should take a spin at mentor roulette. Getting the old EX trials synced up and trying to teach people the mechanics in the limited time available is amazing fun.

I did these raids ~100 times during the month they rewarded Mogtomes. I'm sure a lot of people got reasonably proficient at them then, and we will all slowly get worse as the experience fades.

The Nier raids overall were an exercise in patience, high blood pressure, and general fatigue. Loved the setting but I try to avoid those raids now.

Did you already do Ivalice raid as disaster video? To me it feels those are lot more wipe and disaster filled. ^^
