The pre alpha seems beautiful to me, the lighting and the vegetation moving with the wind, maybe the blinding light required some adjustments, but in general I think it looked superior, the zombies were more scary and the architecture corroded by mold was amazing, I regret much not having been able to play with that pre alpha version
Don't worry there's a e3 mod coming out and they have gone very far with it. Look up on RU-vid e3 definitive mod and the name of the channel should be scar go to the description and click on the discord server if u wanna see how much they have done
@@trizard3940 Ah yeah I worked with them, I restored one of the outfits skin and looks amazing! It's a great mod and improves Dying Light in a lot of ways.
@@quartermaster2809 I feel like Dying Light 2 is worse because they lied about a ton of features that weren't in the final build. The decisions didn't make nearly as much of an impact as they said they would.
*Kicks a door* *Punches the burning zombie* *It doesn't die* *Another one joins in* *Chaos ensues* *Realizes he's about to fuck up the comparison, quickly grabs on to a pole* bro this is just like 2013 gameplay idk what you saying
Honestly, i really think overall the finished product looks and feels better. Though i think i saw some better textures or higher resolution ones in the Pre-Alpha. At some point it also had Wall-running, i really hope they don't scratch it this time around for the sequel. Pre-Alpha looks way too bright and overblown. I just get the feeling of Battlefield 3/4 Flashlight Lensflares. It is really not nice to look at for a longer period of time. Also in the pre-alpha you play as Brecken. I really don't like that. Crane is a well introduced character coming from outside the city and still has to learn everything, which fits way better with the setting and to tutorialize stuff, also that makes it more interesting to discover the in and outs of the city. I really like Dying Light and i am still playing it despite it being indexed in Germany. Please let us get a nice Dying Light 2, hopefully uncensored and most importantly, finished. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Good night and good luck.
@ Yeah that's what i basically wrote. Overall release looks better though. Lighting Change plays a huge part in this. Also this footage is at dogshit resolution.
Not for me. I think it looked just slightly worse. I can tell that they made the game have more distinctive qualities in the environment. Bushes and trees looked too illuminated compared to not only real life but to the aesthetics they were going for. Now the shadows are darker and the light looks like it’s bathing the environment rather than it just striking it.
If I remember correctly, all of this is because they had budget limitations and problems with the executives. Also, there's people who wants the Alpha version to be released, and Techland is aware of it.
Tbh, i think vanilla looks more photorealisic. Even though some textures looks better on the alpha. The lighting doesn't count as much because you can set it accurately to the alpha on the vanilla version, although i actually prefer the vanilla.
I think you missed an opportunity to fully recreate it, since all the stuff in the demo happens in the game, but only during the mission that introduces nighttime. The zombie gnawing at your foot in the building, the kid in the closet, Rais's men at the drop zone, the big guy smashing through the wall. It's all there.
It's actually not. The plane drops the stuff in two batches, the first you don't see, the second is somewhat similar to the one in this one, then the side quest with the kids didn't get implemented at all, and the main mission has a cutscene that makes crane burn the antizin, then starts the pursuit, instead of it happening organically.
@@kovi567 But I'm not talking about the side quest stuff. I mean that you could visually fully recreate the whole demo as all those events happen, but are easily missable.
@@ianmitchell5979 I literally just told you they don't. There is no zombie gnawing on your foot, no kid in the closet, rais's men are there, but the big guy, which turns into being a goon and not a demolisher happen AFTER the quest. Only thing this video missed was the setting sun and rais' men.
There’s a good chance consoles had a hand in this, since originally Dying Light was supposed to be on ps3 and Xbox 360 (thankfully that didn’t happen). Though even with PS4 and Xbox one being stronger consoles they probably still weren’t strong enough to handle the game in this state. Still love Dying Light
They shouldve used the weapons, i know they used more then 4 in the demo but they couldve cut it and also couldve used kyle's yellow outfit so you could campare more
Hopefully DL2 will improve and be the closest thing to the alpha version. Although it's recommended to have your expectations lowered, because the chances of a game like that to be a total disappointment are low, but never zero
The pre alpha honestly has better graphics and game mechanics. The game is still good but I wish I could go and play that demo just for the experience.
@@maverick4668 the pre alpha version seemed like a nightmare with that wind that pushes the vegetation, and God, that vegetation !!! Why the hell did they remove it, why did they remove that architecture corroded by moisture and mold, I would love to be able to play in this version of the map, in the final version everything is very flat, there is no wind, it gets a bit interesting when they add fog or rain, but the pre alpha has those zombies similar to the movie of the nun, with those satanic eyes, all this art was lost

@@fercoxilustracionyanimacio826 exactly bro, i agree with you 100%..especially during night time, the pre alpha feels very dangerous and nightmare ...even during the day time, the zombies are real threat and it seems like breken had quip when he sees hordes or for certain situations...it feels like your on that situation and you dealt with whats around you..they removed those special bushes, palm trees, some unique buildings, buildings with signboards, yellow rock mountains, hijab zombies..retail versions of zombies are trash and not scary at all...techland also removed a lot of features and e3 2018 maps for dying light 2 lol..why they always do that..i dont know..they create something incredable but then they destroyed it
The final game is better, plus I don't think people would have liked Antoine like they did Crane, the textures are lower probably because of consoles, I don't think this is one of those games that changed for worse during development
@@MembersOfHistory the part of the game shows lots of promises but ultimately falls shorts and couldnt stick the landing...old town part is trash, quests arent good, zombies are dumb, one hit kills and you dont care about zombies no more..final section of the game turns into cod..Pre alpha footage sets in brazil and there are lots of palm trees, bushes, mountain which is cut..old dying light is dark and gritty...i hope dying light 2 captures that feeling which was lost in the first one
So how come some phone based games look almost as good as the pre alpha version and older games with less powerful systems like the once new ps4 have nerd for speed and its amazing graphics and rain on your hood and looks like an xbox one x game. Yet newer systems or refined ones with more power have the alpha look... Why is it even called alpha.... Alpha implies its better but it looks worse.
And lets not forget the game Black either. That game was like something they produce now but for the very first xbox... Like what the hell gives... What bs they playing at here.
@@DinaricUbermensch shut the fock of you dumb???? This aplpha much better graphics right???? And this game has downgrade right??? But still good but what we talking alpha is better.
