One of my favorite Dynasty episodes (and scenes) between Blake Carrington and Alexis Carrington. Alexis finally reaches her ultimate goal and destroys Blake but not without taking his mansion first!
I love the way Alexis has a single sheet of paper giving her title to all Blake's holdings. I remember when Blake gets everything back from her in the next season, the papers are about two pages. These people have very efficient and very concise lawyers!
That's good old Alexis Maurel-Carrington-Colby-Dexter for you, dear kjdnyhmghfvb !!! We were all entertained by those receipts being brandished alongside poor Krystal's clothing being flung earthwards from heights !!!
I remember watching this at a gay club in SF called Midnight Sun. It was packed on Dynasty night. The crowd went absolutely nuts when Alexis stood on the balcony saying those lines and throwing the furs over the railing.
I LOVE how she calls the Vuitton luggage junk and chucks it over the balcony! Just brilliant!! Unforgettable! This is one of Joan's unforgettable moments. She'll have it on her tombstone! LOL!
Lol Alexis pulling the papers from her pocket was pretty awesome. Only topped by Blake when he gets everything back from Alexis and Ben with the never ending documents from his jacket pockets. ^_^ such a great scene. Ben wasn't much of an partner tho- he was smiling as Krystal tried to break free. Naughty Ben
That's the fascinating part, where she is fighting for her life, and he's wishing he didn't have to hold Krystle back so he could have both hands free for popcorn.
This is my favorite cliffhanger...it isn't over the top like the Moldavian Massacre...it is just backstabbing dirty business deals that drive a man to the brink.
When I met Joan Collins in London at her book signing, I asked her to write out the line that she says to Blake at the top of the stairs. I thought it was a great line from the show but she didn't seem to remember it as fondly as I did....LOL Oh well.....I thought it was the ultimate power struggle between Blake and Alexis!!
I’ve seen this clip at least a thousand times and just realized the passion Krystle had trying to protect her husband. As she runs to stop Blake and is held back from Ben, she shouts, Don’t, dooonnntt as if to stop her husband of doing something that will ultimately cost him! You can feel her anguish and love in her screams! This show was iconic then and is iconic now!
That score is under appreciated. Despite the high camp this was an extremely high budget show. Sadly, gone are the days of prime time network high brow camp!
@@10293 Please, Alexis is guilty of attempted murder AND murder. Season 1 she deliberately fired a gun when Krystle was riding and watched the horse drag her along, causing her to lose her first baby.
Malcolm George it was on the verge of being canceled. When Alexis/Joan came on for the first time, the rating soared. She literally saved the show and it ran for 9 season.
I got chills when I watched this HAHAHA! I used to watch Dynasty with my Grandmother when I was a kid, I totally remember this! I think it was a season finale episode....so over the top dramatic and campy :-)
Between the one handed to Blake by Ben and the one Aleixs dangles, I've never seen two pieces of paper act so wonderfully. Bravo 10# Classic Crest, Linen!
Oh, there was one more piece of paper that did some great "acting". The termination letter in the "Temptations" miniseries ( when David Ruffin was fired by both the group and Motown executive Shelley Berger ) gave a great "performance"! 😊
My personal opinion (just simple little me) is that this kind of cliffhanger is more interesting than over the top things like the Moldavian Massacre. And it wasn't just Blake choking Alexis, I believe this always ended with the fire at LaMirage.
Weirdly enough, this scene remains to this day as one of very best crafted moments in American nighttime soap opera history. It is truly thrilling. Even now.
I know I'm in the minority, but I always shipped Blake with Alexis. Krystle was just a broom with a wig, getting in the way of them getting back together, for me. That why I loved season 7 so much :).
Apparently Joan thought John was mad at her due to an incident at the Golden Globes where she ended up doing the "Thank You" speech instead of John, so when they came to shoot this scene, she insisted on her stunt double doing it! 🤣
LMAO..... notice the smile on Ben Carrinton's face...he wanted Blake to kill the old witch.....also notice how perfectly wicked Alexis looks even in the face of death....lol they don't make them like that anymore...
I'm sure I once read somewhere that one of the original ideas for this cliffhanger was that Alexis had pushed Blake so far that he had a heart attack right there as he climbed the stairs. Imagine.
