Dysmantle (2021) - Zombie Apocalypse Open World RPG 

As someone who grew up in southern New Jersey, I can verify that crowbar fighting ladies in Wawa parking lots was/is an 8th grade social studies graduation requirement.

The way that you *immediately* weilded your crowbar with such authority and skill, particularly in melee/combat, tells me that you were born with this talent.

I love this game. Most of things you mentioned get addressed later as you level up and craft things.

- you need to read the hints, it would explain how to fight properly (knifes can be aimed), how to lock onto the enemies, that enemies re-spawn when campfire is used (not when chest is used), how to rotate map and other things - you haven't finished the cooking quest because you didn't find the recipe in one of the first houses to loot and didn't cook it, it would give you +5HP first time and would heal 15HP afterwards - there was another quest you completely missed in the starting area too (I know for sure since it requires level 5 to start) - you can reach level 10 by the time you leave the starting area without grinding much if you dismantle everything you can dismantle (need to upgrade smart and take advantage of some loopholes too to get max upgrades), it is time consuming and may be boring for a lot of people but the game is called dysmantle for a reason

dude i’ve been playing this game for three days now, bought it on a whim, and i’ve been blown-a-way. it’s so simple, but has depth, and is both exciting and grueling. legend of zelda vibes, and pure gaming joy.

I've got 100+ hours into this game and I strongly recommend you get it. You don't even need to be the hardcore survival modes' lover (I am not a fan of survival really), or any other type of mods that this game presents itself to be like, but I think Im becoming one. You can be a newcomer to this genre and I'm pretty sure you'll find some that you enjoy here. Its title talks for itself. You pretty much destroy everything to get loot and level up looting/storing materials/killing/sleeping/doing quests etc, anything in the game is breakable once you reach a certain level/tool that is able to break it, so if you're a loot-whore and can't pass by anything that is lootable before you loot the crap out of it then you guarantee yourself many hours in this game. I'll be honest, the 100+ hours I put in, I barely even did any quests just yet. I was just running around the huge map discovering new areas and exploring. That's how I like it. Some areas will require you to complete a certain quest and such to be able to travel to new area, but ya. It was fun for me just running around without even doing main quests. Yes, the game can be repetitive, I mean it is, as you pretty much loot and break basically the same things/items/obstacles over and over again and at some point you might want to take a break from it, but before you get to that point you might find yourself already spending over 30-50+ hours running around. I still have a few undiscovered map areas with my 100+ hours, but that's just me. I just loved breaking everything and looting as much as I can early on to not be short any sort of crafting materials that would be required for crafting mid game. Also, you need to get a "Sledgehammer" early on as well as "Katana" and "Axe" tools to allow yourself to enjoy the game even more early on as Sledgehammer will allow you to break even more stuff for more rare materials. Always break wooden poles and all the cars you come across. Literally when you get the game, go and check out where and how to get Sledgehammer and Katana quests and do those before doing anything else. I just dont remember if you needed some sort of game completion before those quests unlock, but check that out and activate early on. Also, once you get to "Digital Watch" quest and do get digital watch, do equip them as they will speed the running and game itself to 30% up, you'll do everything faster, which does help when you have Sledgehammer equipped, which is very slow to loot with...so ya, im working on getting "Power Fist" and "Khopesh" tools that would let me break everything, there is much more to it, but honestly if you've come across this vid and was just checking what this game is about and still havent made your mind and thought of moving passed it, just get it, at least on sale, and then try it for yourself. If you havent enjoyed the first couple of hours of it, you could try to return it on steam and refund, but i have a feeling you'll be stuck passed two hours. Do go over some tutorials and vods on what you should know before playing the game to learn the tricks early on unless you don't care bout them. The videos I watched of it on the net prior didnt tell the full story, so I went and bought it. I have a feeling I will have 200hs of it by some time of next year total even if I take a break from repetitiveness of it :) Enjoy!

what i like is, the game is intelligent enough to see, that you already have done things in your newest quest. So you dont need to redo them.

This game is solid as a rock, a very casual zombie survival game. You cannot be in a hurry with this, as the fun comes from exploration, easy crafting and slowly grinding up your abilities. My favorite indie surprise of 2021.

It's a really fun game, the progression works hand in hand with exploration and with every action giving xp, you don't necessarily feel the grind as it all organically builds in the gameplay loop. Upgrading gear and discovering recipes is also really engaging and satisfying.

I've never seen an option to disable trypophobia triggers in a game. That's really cool. I don't have that condition, myself, but I appreciate that the devs put that option in there, because I know that's one of the more common phobias out there. Good on you, devs.

Been playing 1.0 for like 10 hours now. Man the map is huge and there is a lot of stuff to do. It's kinda a good mix of "survival" (not really), hoarding simulator, base building and puzzle solving. A big leap from the older version I have played.

Although your combat abilities don't change (apart from the powered up attack you missed), there are a number of different ex-humans and ex-animals that vary in combat techniques. I honestly had no clue the gate keeper did that volcano thing, and got tired... it would have saved me a ton of time had I known... I usually drew it closer, ran up, hit him, and bolted. Your inventory gets a little insane if you focus on it. I usually grabbed one when I leveled up if I had that choice, plus the pack upgrades... you can eventually carry a ton. One big thing about this game is it's built for slow play, with some entertaining combat around the edges. You're meant to destroy everything in a house that you can, and move on to the next. Destruction gives experience to level up, and a lot of recipes and upgrades cost quite a bit. I believe I had a lvl 3-4 crowbar before taking out that gate keeper. I've actually found that one of the most difficult mobs in the game is the second one you find... That hurler is a pain in the nards, and there's plenty of them out there, as well as an upgraded version. Have fun... ;v)

I picked this up, because it is on sale, and a ton of fun. materials follow the sort of standard rarity scale. white-green-blue-purple-orange. you can upgrade the towers with different features, one of them makes the monsters killed permamently, another lets you respawn them as higher level and damage versions(up to 3 times) also causing them to drop better loot. that big blue orb that the boss monster dropped is needed to do the tower upgrades. a big part of the playing cycle is upgrading the damage to your blunt or slashing damage weapons, then going and breaking more durable things in order to get better materails. a tip for when you need to start looking for steal and electronic scrap. break the power line poles, they drop tier 2 wood, steel , and electronc scrap,jsut follow the roads

Thanks for video. Played this for free recently and after maybe ~2 hours I was bored for most of the experience.... Combat feels pretty bad, no knockback or stun on zombies, very very basic interactions and most of the game is just smashing stuff for drops to get upgrades so you can smash more stuff. Should honestly be a mobile game feels like?

Awesome game. Just bought it today from Google Play on my Android and figured I'd see if you had a video of it, just to see your experience of the first half an hour, cause you're awsome and I love hearing your commentary. To people that wanna play it, If you have a TV that can screen-mirror from your phone and a controller with Bluetooth, the controller support is so flawless that there's no reason to even get it on anything else. If you have a decent phone, your graphics really aren't going to be wildly improved upon by buying it on a console or PC, and it's probably the cheapest option. Now, if you don't have the ability to screen mirror, by all means, get it on console or PC, cause touchscreen controls are ass for fighting. Great game, though! It would just be nice to be able to create your own personalized character.

This is one of my favorite indie games right would highly recommend it. Few games seem to encourage exploration well and this game does.

The suck item to you "magnet" thing is an upgrade. Pretty good game. Only thing I don't much care for are the maze like sections of the map, but that is to be expected.

Not super stoked about this game. Feels like they couldn't choose if they wanted to make a mobile game or a PC game, and ended up making a PC game that feels like a mobile one, with a bunch of gamification and cheap animations and sounds.

Wanderbots played this multi player with Chelle, which was interesting. It basically clones you, and you share a bunch of stuff.

Bought it again, this time for the PS4. COUCH CO-OP. Man this game is a relaxing slow burn once you get it warmed up. If you have gaming OCD, stay far away from this or you will find yourself still awake, breaking all the things at 2am :D

It's awesome. 40 hours in i still discover new stuff, new biomes, minigames, puzzles, bits of lore and so on. Late game it even goes full on old school adventure game (gasmask quest...) Great game, there is a lot of thought that went into development , no doubt about it. EDIT: In germany these laundry hangers are called "Wäschespinne" (Laundry Spider) bc they look like a spider web.

You didn't go for the alliteration of Freeman Fu and instead went with Gordon Fu? For shame.

so When the game came out on ios I wanted to play it but I didn’t have enough money to buy it and when I did IT VANISHED and my memory of the game became faded and I became desperate and then after several hours I finally search up a lucky site that held a list of games and I found this game which was what I was looking for now Im contemplating to buy it cause the price got raised to 9.99 should I get it

Imo Kinda too High-key lighting for a zombie themed game. The bright colors make everything seem happyish instead of unnerving.

I mean you can dodge but its just more work. I do fine just backing up right after i hit them. Works for any monster really. dodging kinda wastes time and puts you in an awkward spot. especially for doggos.

Wow this game is fun. I Just bought it and it is one of the best running games (even though it's very graphically minimal..other games of it's type still seem to have performance issues). It looks nice, I love the different inventory system... only been playing an hour or so but really enjoying this one.

There's a DLC out for this game too.

something I noticed that is anice QOL feature is that doors can open both directions. breventing getting stuck or blocking items.

Here in the UK I call that laundry line a whirly gig. Why? Dunno it just fits.

Looks interesting. But the combat seems to leave a lot to be desired. Might pick it up since it is on sale.

Apparently there was "backstab" damage or rather it seems "first strike while unseen" damage. Your first hit did 13, your normal strikes did 12. Seems like not a lot except I noticed that 1 damage requires an extra hit. Apparently they have exactly 49 hp lol.

I don't need parrying and combos and whatnot. I like simple. Unless it's automated into the weapons/skill tree.

You can just interact with storage box and don't need to camp every time to store your goods.....

Just bought this today, great game. devs are nice guys as well. EDIT: went and played 2 hours. just been upgrading some stuff. There are some tougher Zombies for sure, the poison thrower guys can be annoying, but the orange jumpsuit ones are bad, especially when you get chased by a couple of them, and then some regular mobs thrown in. Just trying to work out how I get to the next mission checkpoint. also dude, undungeon just came out today. will you be playing this?
