Dyson DC17 airflow test 

Thanks! I've got a ball animal 2 on the way as well it'll be interesting to see how that does, i've seen that it's airwatts are somewhere between 270 and 306 depending on the source. Oddly I couldn't find them listed on dyson's website.

I think I’ve seen five or six of these Dyson DC 17s and sold two

I currently still have One for parts and one fully working

@@VacMaster2020 Yeah you definitely don't see quite as many of them as you do the 7s and 14s, the higher price point is most likely why. I also think people may not have understood what made the 17 differ from the others

Now if only the brushroll weren't so harsh

@@jonathanchung7209 I honestly can't answer that I just picked out the cheapest option. I'm totally unaware of what the options are and how they compare.

Yeah they've never really been known for their ability to deep clean.

The dyson ball animal 2 is know by its Power and ability to deep clean carpets. Although the dc17 has more airflow, more agitation and probably more suction, the animal 2 still does a very good job on carpeting.

@@eduardopaulin3744 I have several Eureka/Sanitaire F&G vacuum cleaners and I have several Kirby vacuum cleaners. I also have a Hoover Elite Commercial C1404, Hoover Elite Commercial C1414, Hoover Concept One U3103, Hoover Convertible 700 U4497, as well. Eureka/Sanitaire F&G machines, Hoover Convertible/Decade machines, Kirby machines, Royal All Metal machines, are unbeatable for deep cleaning carpets and rugs. They pick up fine dust under carpeting that Dyson and other “Clean Fan” aka “Bypass Fan” machines leave behind.

@@Blackheartvacs I bought my two Dyson machines for shits and giggles. They collect dust and take up space in my collection while I use my Kirby’s and Eureka/Sanitaire F&G machines. Dyson’s pull up a lot of carpet fiber and they pull up a lot of sand and grit. They pull up very little fine dust though.

@@robertgwisdala5795 Ok but direct air motor vacuums have more airflow than clean air motors, i know that, but clean air motors can do things like using the accessories a lot better than direct air motors, but if you prefer direct air motors, thats ok, I can't judge your vacuum preference.

Hmm i'd check the wand and hose for clogs then check the hose for tears. If that's not the case i'd also look at your filters making sure they're clean lastly there's the diverter where the machine directs suction to either the hose or to the floor. I know like on the 07 line that connection would kind of get stuck rather than fully seating with the seals. Hope this helps

@@Blackheartvacs I think I found the problem. The back of the base near the bottom is a "U" shape tube. It has a twist lock. I took out that "U" shape tube and it was jam pack with junk including a eye brow pen. It was really packed with crap. While I discovered that I previously rinsed the removable filter. Tomorrow I will put the filter back when it's dry and I am just about 100% positive all will be working again. There is the other filter near the motor should the cleaning of the tube doesn't solve the problem but this "U" shape tube was really clogged bad.
