I’m glad I’ve found your channel as you’ve reminded me to check the most basic thing first which is the fuse!! However, in my case I knew it was a motor as there was smoke and sound and finally died…. So I bought a YDK motor from Amazon and managed to successfully change it but it was not working so I thought it was the motor to which I sent it back thinking it was faulty so bought a second one and again I’ve gone through all the checklist and yet again failed to work. I then found your channel and first thing you pointed out was the plug and that hit me instantly that I didn’t check the fuse and luckily it was the fuse and as soon as I heard the motor buzzing the instant relief and achievement was amazing especially someone Like me who is rubbish at DIY (so am told by my partner)
Oooh you repair Dysons! what do you think of the old vs new dyson uprights and what do you think are the best old school uprights and the best newer style models they made?
I personally don;t like the newer models but I guess a DC41 would be okay. The best machines by far in order of age are DC33 DC14 DC07. Simple solid and reliable. We use a DC33 at my place. Great question by the way. I am sure you already have some knowledge to ask like you did.
Robonza nice! I agree with you 100% except I found the DC14 to be a bit more heavy duty than the DC33 as I’ve seen quite a lot of Dc33s with snapped bodies just above the cyclone exit And the hoses seem to be shorter too and the foam seals like to get damaged in the cyclones vs rubber in the 14 But they’re quite similar 😄 I’d love to see more Dyson videos from you
@@parwaz7861 You are perfectly correct. The DC33 has the advantage of being newer. Its weird how some of the bodies crack. I have seen 3 so far. I think you have to abuse them to crack them. You don't need the hoses these days. Whip out a V6 for those jobs. I might do some more Dyson videos when time permits. Very busy here. Never seen a DC33 cyclone gasket fail yet. The DC39 is the worst gasket. I make em here on the laser cutter too.
Robonza haha that’s true I guess, the big Dyson for the serious vacuuming and the cordless for the quick jobs! I’m not a big dc39 fan, it’s a nice machine but the original dc19 with the flatout head and dc08 style hose and wand is better as the connections don’t leak air compared to the newer ones for some reason
@@parwaz7861 Yes DC39's and DC54's are very bad compared to a DC19. I think the DC20 is better tho with its compact storage and solid wand. DC19's always get the hose trashed because they dont fit in the cupboard.
