When I pulled my filter off, the bottom part stayed in the machine, and I had to dig it out. I thought I broke something until I found this video. Thank you!!
I just found out on my own also. They have to click in. Line up the 2 larger and 2 smaller, click in with thumb pressure. Then you can put it back on. Simple solution Dyson,, just put a darn arrow on the 2 parts 🤥. I will say my carpet attatchment broke after only using 5x light use. DYSON sent out a new carpet attatchment unit and worked like a charm. I can touch up and vaccuem carpet, and then I use the corner attachment to do all the corners on my wood floors, which is where all the cat hair and dust are , on one charge!! No worrying about plugging and unplugging going up and down stairs !
I have just bought a Dyson V8 absolute & find just little things can stop these vacuums from working & they need a lot more cleaning than other vacuums. It's a joke when you have to strip this machine down completely when they stop working & I find they stop working for the smallest of reasons . A lot Dyson keep quiet about . But for a vacuum cleaner that is so expensive we should be getting a better deal . I for one don't want to be spending all my time cleaning my vacuum rather my vacuum was cleaning my home instead
So when you pull the trigger, if the light comes on before the motor even starts you have an issue with the filter being "seated" correctly. That's what this video addresses. If the light comes on after you pull the trigger and the motor runs, it means the vacuum has just self diagnosed (computer detecting strained suction) that the filter is clogged. Did you separate the filter in to two pieces like I made the mistake of doing. If so, follow this video to be sure you put them back together correctly.
You are correct. But my first time cleaning it I hadn't bothered to read that and became very perplexed, like many, as to why the vacuum refused to function after I reassembled it (incorrectly).
