Are you trying to figure out how to install a Dyson Wall Mount for the Dyson Cordless Vacuum? Our old Dyson DC59 that we have had for about 6 years finally went out on us when it fell off of the counter, and so we decided that we would do an upgrade to a newer one. We saw that the Dyson v10 was on sale, so we decided to buy one of those because we really like the Dyson Cordless Vacuums.
In this video I do an installation of the Dyson cyclone v10 total clean+ cordless vacuum wall mount. I discuss the tools that you need to install the Dyson v10 and I install mine on our wall.

Just had a refurbished dyson V8 delivered via mail from dyson.com internet site. Was almost a $400.00 savings. Paid almost $300.00 and put it on a credit card with 6 (6 month offer) payments. Will pay interest of some $23.00 total for interest. Got wall mount, charging cord, large vacuum head, small vacuum head, crevice head, slanted brush head, oval brush head. No screws, wall anchors, or instructions included for wall mount. For me that was not a big deal. Very limited 6 month warranty then there is no warranty at all. I’ll let you know what we think later. Doing 3 hour charge right now and looking forward to your review on instruction booklet. I am going to be thankful for your explanation of machine THEN I can use it.

Thank you so very, very much! I didn’t realize that was hardware taped! Bought new ones thinking it was missing! Lol. I thought it was adhesive once tape was removed. Your video was so very, very helpful to this inexperienced, mechanically challenged lady!

Good vid! Absolutely agree the power being on bottom is a much better design than the previous versions where the vac has to be guided up and into a top-mounted pwr supp.

Hi there, Nice video, I did notice you were installing the wall plate upside down. Then again, haven't we all done that, at some point? I have been researching the never Dyson V-series recently and wanted to give a correction to something you said in the video. I use a Dyson V7, which I believe is 1 model newer than your older one. As it turns out, the V series attachment click-connection configuration was changed on the V7, the one I have and it is the same one they use on all the V-series models, all the way up to the V15. All the attachments do fit. With that said, with changes in the motors, batteries and power output, newer powered attachments should only be used with same or newer powerheads, or older powerheads that at one generation removed. For example, a V11 powered attachment could be used on a V10 but trying to use it with an old model would probably cause problem with suction or battery life. A V11 can use any attachment made for a V7 or newer. Also, V slim models are not compatible with V-series models. I know they both have "V" in the name but the are different! Here's a great site that I found while researching the stuff, I am not connected to the site, I just found it useful. I used a 6mm drill bit, then hammered in the plugs. Worked great. The 120cm height is a tad bit high. If I would do it again I would probably go closer to 110-115, at least for my v12.

Wall anchors are not needed unless you are drilling thru concrete, cement board or a real hard wood that requires a carbide drill bit.

You can't without breaking it! Then you'd have to buy a new one (over £20 on Amazon!). Dyson have been sneaky and designed it in such a way that they get more money off you if you want to move the charger to a different position. Note that if this guy had attached the great bit to the clear backing plate before he realised it was upside down, he would now be £20 worse off!!

I'm thinking about purchasing a Dyson. Where do you recommend I place the outlet for the power cord, up high near light switch height or closer to the floor? In the video, I did not see the power cord from the charger to the power source. Thanks!

Highly recommend it. At 9:50-ish in the video you can see the cord hanging down. We have a power strip underneath the shelf that it is next to and that is where it is plugged in.

WOW!!!! Thanks for leaving the WRONG WAY to install the mounting bracket on your video as I followed along and installed it upside down!!!! Super easy fix to remove it, but why after 1yr+ would you not edit that part out of the video???? I assume a lot of people watch all the way through before following, which I clearly don't as I would assume (don't go there) you would take out your OOPS! and have clean install video??????

I installed mine too low because I didn’t want it falling on my kids if they decided to grab it. But i will have to take it apart every time after vacuuming. I think i will have to take it apart anyway to empty it right?

Yes. You have to take the stick off to empty it. Sometimes I don't empty if it is just a quick clean up. Also since you have to lift up on it, our 2 year old can't take it off the rack.

basic screws at your hardware big box store. By the packages that come with screws+anchors+drill bit. They're meant for mounting things on the wall and will fit the holes fine.

The prescribed 47 1/4" hanging height seems a little high to me. I believe I could hang the docking station at about 36 1/2" and it would be closer to the floor. It still is not touching the floor. I'm curious of any re-precautions about hanging the unit lower?

without the dyson hanging on the mount it's 2 1/2 inches. With the Dyson hanging it's 10 inches. HOpe that helps.

It would be easier. He didn’t need the wall anchor plugs because he’s in a stud.

A stud finder is used to find wooden poles in the drywall. If you live in a house, it is recommended to use one to check if you're hitting drywall or wood. (Nail with the anchor is for drywall whereas nail alone is for wood). Hope that helps

Someone in another video, who did use the anchors, mentioned 7 or 8 mm bit, which would be just under 1/4 inch. He felt it better to go with the 7 mm bit, since the hole tends to be slightly larger than the bit size. That was for a slightly different model of Dyson, though, but the wall bracket looked the same.

I installed the wall mount for my Dyson V11 Torque Drive vacuum using just the screws and not the anchors. However, there is no stud behind the wall and while I am able to mount the canister and a small tool, the top of the mount is just a tad away from the wall. I am concerned about whether this will hold. Has anyone else installed a wall mount without the anchors/stud and was the wall mount able to adhere to the wall and not break away?

My thoughts are that if Dyson sent the anchors, you should use them. I would also love to know if anyone has had any success without the anchor/stud.

The weight and constant use will definitely cause the bracket to detach without the anchors. Remember Murphy’s Law.

If you can't use a wall plug , Get those double sided sticky tapes , but once you got it stuck leave it for 3 days before using it , just to make sure the tape has stuck completely.
