@@markmcc21 You could see the way it handled when he flew it and if it is like the real SR-71 then it is designed to fly high, fast and be invisible. Don't get me wrong, it would be cool model to fly, just don't expect to do acrobatics with it.

@@cruddyjayvlogs7911 I'm just expressing an opinion, not stopping anyone from buying the model. Do you think I am omnipotent with the ability to STOP someone from buying a model? I think it is a cool plane to own and fly, just so long as people realize it is not an acrobatic plane. The SR-71 is not a fighter plane, nor are bombers for that matter, but people still fly them.

@wayneyadams yeh mate I was just joking. Id never buy this model foe the exact reason you stated. Its heavy, small wings, too small, umx junk servos, can't fly slow, can't take off from grass, only does scale and not aerobatic. Just isn't my style.

The gear are super small, but to add it would have added a TON of weight, and this thing is already heavy. As for the LED's - yep.

You won't be disappointed when you hold it, but you might wish she "did more" in the air...but to be fair, it only flies FAST, just like the big one ;)

Honesty is everything.

Get a roll of Blenderm tape. It's very light and makes amazing for reinforcement in thinner areas.

Yep, she can fly a bit wiggly, but that's because we were flying in SOME wind. Calm conditions do help a lot, but with the AS3X and SAFE working very well, it almost won't let you crash it...but you can ACTIVELY crash it ;) Just keep your speed up, and enjoy the absolutely gorgeous silhouette. Bring her home and display her over a lamp, mounted like a Top Gun plaque - wish they'd include the plaque for mounting this on the wall!

I ordered the new futura 64mm jets. (Two actually!) Should be great inexpensive fun! :) hope to see you do a review on one soon!

I don't disagree with your findings. This plane is a real looker, but it's not going to win any awards for being the most high performance model we've ever seen. Still glad I've got this beauty to look at as I walk past ;) Happy flying! P.S. She'll slow down, but I'd wait till you have some wind down the strip...or high alpha over some grass ;) She'll do it...even somewhat slow!

It flies easy, now that I have a few flights in, but you're spot on...harder to see than some planes. If you fly in the right light, like our hand launch flight (first one in the video), you'll have a good chance of seeing what you want and need to see.

Sure, but if you know you're going to be in the hobby for a while, first, this is probabaly not a good "Beginner plane" unless you're getting it as a cool lookin model that CAN fly...and you don't really plan to fly it...BUT if you want a simpler transmitter that would be JUST for this plane, you could for sure get the NX7e, or even the DX6e...but I wouldn't suggest the DX anything for someone who'll be flying for a while, as they are about to lose support. They are about "spent" in their capabilities, and eventually Spektrum will drop their updates and that sort of thing...which is why we say, get the best you can afford if you're "in it for the long haul" - this is always cheaper. NX10 is not the ONLY way to go, but if you know you're in it for say 5 planes, you won't limit what planes you can get with that choice. Hope this helps - not just trying to talk you into more spending...but more the OPPOSITE...we don't want you to waste a lot of money on a DX6e, then a DX8e, then a NX7e, then an NX8, then an NX10, then an NX20 - see what I mean ;) Good luck, and here's a link when you're ready to start looking - bprc.me/Tx P.S. Thickness. Strength. If you get a 9 gram servo in there, I bet you could have made a plastic shell whereas the servo body made up the TOP and BOTTOM of the wing...but then maybe a black decal on the top and bottom??? I know a lot of people have issue with these linear servos, and I too have had a few, but they are powerful and small....but they if get hairs, grass, leaves, or anything small in there...they're useless. Wish they'd be sealed up with a removable cover (not glued) for better serviceability. If you want to make them MORE reliable, set your max throws to 97-98% or less. This will stop the possibility of over-shoot, which can get them stuck at the end of the throws.

@@BrianPhillipsRC I heard that from you on one of you're other vids I set all my umxs to 97% travel a long time ago. I havent had any problems with them yet. They make sense on a tiny umx but this is a good sized bird.
