Maiden flight of my new (to me) V1200. When I installed the battery, I was shocked at the weight! But the maiden proved that this plane is actually not as wild as it seemed.

Great landing! I've had my eye on this one for a while also. The main thing holding me back is the light blue color. If I got one, I would for sure have to repaint it. Why they went with that color scheme baffles me... I've read that the landing gear bends fairly easily on rough landings. This plane for sure is meant for experienced pilots. I suspect it wouldn't last long in the hands of someone without enough experience to handle the speed, and to land it properly.

It certainly disappears! Even in the cloudy sky, I could see it fairly well despite the colors. It's when the plane is head-on that it disappears. Thin wing and fuse. Not sure if other colors would help that. I might put a florescent strip on the leading edge and see if that helps.

My best friend bought this & v900. 900 he flies regularly. 1200 we setup (safe). As always, i get the privilege of maidening. We fly on the equivalent of a 4 football field, field. After trimming, i grew a pr & punched it. AFTER i quit shaking, i slowed down & landed it safe, on a grass field. Ive not seen it since 🤷‍♂️😂.

Lol! I get it! A plane can get intimidating. For me, the plane doesn't have bad habits and flies real easy once you are used to speed. You gotta nail the landings though as the gear is a bit weak.

Wow, that was a very smooth flight! The audio was somehow strange. I suppose because there´s the audio from the camera and the micro?

I don't hear the strange audio? It's external mics, but it turns off the internal one. Two mics... maybe phasing when we are near each other? Honestly don't hear an issue.

Crazy that no one tells you how bad the stickers are. Im on my 4th V1200 every one had stickers that are peeling off out of the box. Stickers peel the paint with it Also. The landing gear does not bend easily if they do you landed way to hard. Not a grass plane. Also can set up reverse thrust to stop it sooner after landing as it weighs almost 7lbs woth a 6000mah 6s. Love the plane hate the stickers color isnt bad unless its slightly foggy

Sounds like this is not a good one for the grass?

Yeah, not really. The main wheels might have been able to handle manicured grass but the legs are pretty thin and the actual retract is small. I think they chose the retract for it's size so it would fit in the thin wing.

is it possible to hand launch and belly land this plane if the main gear is removed ?

I never tried it but i dont see why not. Its got a ton of torque and thin wings so finding the amount of power for take off is important. I probably wouldnt go full throttle... perhaps 3/4 throttle and maybe safe on if you have it with a good huck.

I use a 10x10 with 5000 6C. Flys great the gear sucks however.

Yeah... that's the impression I get as well. I was gonna wait before passing judgment on the gear until a few more flights, but it does seem pretty weak.
