I have racked up to $3,000 in EZ pass tickets. Due to violation fees, since the pandemic began. It's frustrating to say the least. My tickets aren't even half the amount, I've gotten charged 50-100 dollar fees on 5.00 tolls or less. There's no one to reach, no covid relief, nothing to do but watch my credit score decrease. I am disgusted with EZ pass NY, and NJ. We need to protest this.
I just went to New Jersey last week, I don’t have EZ pass and just assumed I’d get the bill in the mail… TOLL was $9.95 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE…$150.00 this country breaks its citizens and takes care of other countries… shame !!!!
I just drove thru a toll booth on the 26th of October; my bill is $6.45 with an added $50.00 fee yikes 😲 It's cashless so I had no option 🤷 true highway robbery.

@@Mike-wn7oh I had two bills I paid the the toll fee on one & they waived the admin fee (cause I made a complaint). But the other one they wouldn’t waive the fee so I paid the extra $50. I think it goes back to what you just said they only waive one fee a year.
so I would have to pull over on the turnpike, get out try not to get ran over to cover plates with something, go thru and than pull over to uncover plates, alsom how does that work when the police are park there watching everybody. um no thanks but appreciate your advice.
@dojo1249 they have a cover you can put over your LP that would obscure the numbers.....not sure if it's legal.....but I've seen it. Probably get ticketed if caught tho
Just received a toll ticket from NJ. It was 2 tolls $4.10 and $0.70 and $50 admin fee on top of each. Really $50. fee on $0.70? so called them and explained that I'm no E-ZPass customer and full service window was closed. Agent said that it's not true and best she can do for me it's remove one $50 fee. So in the end I paid $50 fee on $0.70 toll. pure madness

I currently "owe" several thousand dollars because of "administrative fees". Some are $50 and others are $100. Seriously? WTF? I am now on the phone waiting to talk to a rep at EZ Pass. These fees are criminal.
2023. nope, NJ is still stealing from drivers. I pay cash and drove up to the toll booth that said it was opened but no person was inside, I waited for about 2 minutes, honk my horn and still nobody and no place to pull over and contact anyone. I had to go thru because of cars behind me and I knew I would get the toll bill in the mail as NJ states. The toll is $3.63 cents but they charged me for the wrong toll/exit price and than they tacked on an admin fee of $50=$54 and change=NJ rips people off and governor Murphy wont put a stop to it meaning he is in on it.
I really wish all the EZ-Pass and similar corporate toll scams would just die off. Back in their early days, I turned in their transponder and was told I had to wait 30 days for the refund of my remaining balance to be returned (I was no longer working in PA and didn't need to cross the river twice a day). On of their Camden NJ office employees, instead of disabling the transponder and cutting a check, took the transponder and ran my balance down to nothing. I had no clue until bills from those jerks started showing up. Not only did it take THREE YEARS to get them to stop hassling me about tolls I couldn't be responsible for (I still have that receipt proving I turned in the transponder), but I also never saw a dime of my money returned.
I took my daughter to La Guardia Airport on the 29 the of November & paid the toll . Guess what ? These bastards billed me three times for ONE TRIP !!!!
Their roads are paid off and yet they get to continually raise their prices and charge $50 admin fees even when their cash lanes are closed! This is entrapment.

@@SSMenace49 Best thing you can do is just open an EZ pass account and ask that they wave all the administrative fees which should significantly reduce your remaining balance. Then pay what’s left. I opened an EZ pass account and ended up paying less than $300 total. Better than $1300+. It’s a scam to push u to get an EZ Pass
Good thing you didn't! We signed up, big mistake! We can't even get out of it, we closed our account but the closure is still "pending" after two weeks. And we're still getting charges! Bunch of crooks! We wished we never signed up.

I dispute every toll violation I get. I have ez pass & I always have money on my account BUT sometimes THEIR toll booths don’t read my ez pass or are working properly! How is that our fault?? Tolls are dumb and unnecessary.
If you don't enter the exact date of the day you traveled on an ez pass toll, the ez pass website won't tell you have an unpaid toll. Eventually you will be mailed the 100 late fee for the 5.00 to 10 dollar toll because you didn't know you have an outstanding toll. You simply can't look up a toll on the website without knowing the travel date. To me this is abominable that you can't look up your toll by license plate without knowing the exact date of travel. Why does the system need the exact date. What if you forgot the day you traveled, what if you forgot you traveled that day at all - sometimes traveling is a blur. I don't write down dates of travel. Isn't ezpass supposed to make life easier, not harder?

I need help. I owe supposedly 56,000 dollars on EZ PASS, plus I also got a later from New Jersey ezpass saying I also owe another 2 - 3 thousand. I was paying all my tolls with someone else ezpass. Now my vehicle is suspended. I hired a lawyer, but not getting any answers from him either. I called the ezpass department of suspension, and they said they cannot give me a date to appeal these fees. I don’t know where to go for help. Someone please help me.
Same happened to me. I live in New. Castle, Delaware, but my cats’ vet is in Middletown. I drove 301 4 times from January to May because of emergency. Never got a single ticket via mail until May. They charged my like 50 bucks because of the late fees. I NEVER GOT ANYTHING IN MY MAIL IN ALMOST 5 months! Not my fault they don’t mail in time. You never hear anything from them if you Appeal!

I live in NJ, but I haven’t drove on a toll road in a while in Jersey. I usually get tolls bills when I go to NY, and they are just the toll charge unless you missed the payment date, then you get hit with a admin fee. But on December 30th I went to pick up a relative from the Newark Airport and I made a wrong turn due to a lane being closed because of construction on the road and I ended up on the NJTP. I passed 3 tolls trying to get back on the right road back home, which I didn’t paid much attention to it because I’m think it was just like the tolls in NY that you get a bill in the mail and you pay it and that’s that. But these tolls in NJ come with an automatic $50 administrative fee. So for a three tolls totally $9.45 I got a bill for $159.45. That’s just insane. I understand charging me a fee if I was late, but I just got the bill this was less than 20 days from the day of the incident. Is the fee automatically added to the toll fee or was this a mistake? Because this is not right. They are better of just saying that the tolls are $50 dollars and get it over with. Can someone clarify this fee to me? Thanks. I’m mad as hell🤬🤬🤬🤬

After many weeks, I finally got to speak to a supervisor. She said that she will fix everything, remove the violations and get them out of collections. I haven't gotten to verify if it was all done yet but I'm hoping this is the end if it.
I had ezpass it has been suspended for 2 months for non reason I’m uber driver by the way new comer immigrant I went thru Holland tonnel. EZ-Pass Fines and Penalties are easily discharged in bankruptcy. I have a 100% success record in discharging them in Bankruptcy. If you are in NJ or NY I can help you. EZ Pass does not really negotiate. If you drive with suspended registration, your vehicle will be impounded and those fees are not dischargable in bankruptcy.

@@leonardboyer1218 The court clerk said parking tickets ez pass balance were not dischargble. EZPass also never received any notice related to my filing.
I got $180 worth of toll bills in the mail at the same for this. I logged in the website last week and there were $180 worth of violations to pay. Today I logged in and all the same violations are "CLOSED" and it says I owe $0, so I wonder if they fixed this. Hopefully!

No, that happened to me until I received a collections notice. They don't update your tickets to their system most of the time, until it's too late and the fee is added onto it.

What's a Pennsylvania Turnpike Authority never heard of that agency but I have heard of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commissions. Also this confesses me because your saying their getting ezpaas bills no that's called a toll by plate, ezpass doesn't bill you it gets taking out of an online account you set up using a Transponder, usual the till is deducted as soon as your Transponder reads.
