It looks like he has a 4 pin sight. I wonder if the 30 and 50 pins are the same color. In the heat of the moment and you know the deer is alert so the red pin is 30 and if that 50 is red too then if that is on the shoulder at 30 it would go just over the back like that. After the shot you would be sure it was the 30 but in the moment when your adrenaline is going and you just had a problem with drawing the bow and you rush some. Or you drop your arm instead of bending at the waist to adjust your aim point that can make you shoot high. I've done that myself

His arrow ricochet off the tree branch. You can see the branch shaking after his arrow hit it. Heart breaking. But like he said, that's hunting. Unfortunately that happens. Best off luck in the future hunts. I felt his pain...ugh
