[E148] 2013-2018 Toyota RAV4 Driver and Passenger Door Actuator Replacement

After having these door lock actuators sit in garage for eight months, I finally found the time to install them. Door actuator motors are always in use so naturally in time they will wear out and will need to be replaced.
For my wife’s car it started out with the driver side then eventually the front passenger side went out. There’s a feature that activates the door lock actuator. Once you’re about to drive off the RAV4 has a feature where it automatically locks the door. After installing these new door lock actuators, I decided to disable that automatic locking feature. This should decrease the wear out time on these newer actuators.

Thanks for watching the video… Sorry it’s been a while, but on the 23 second mark if you pause it it’ll show the part number which is 69040-42250… Now the question is which side is it? sorry but it’s been over three years since I had the part ordered, they took me quite some time to get the time to be able to do the work. I tried calling the dealer earlier, but I was on a nice long hold then I got disconnected. Lol you could always try your local dealer and see if they could provide you with the part number that you may need for your application. It’s always best to go by VINNanyway.

Our 2017 Rav4 driver's door lock is not working with the remote, and the passenger side is also starting to act funny. Thank you for the helpful video as I'll likely have to do this soon. Lame Toyota, lame.

Absolutely! Thanks for checking out the video. It’s not just a Toyota thing, but most manufacturers have the same type motor in their actuators. Since it’s a highly used component, it eventually will crap out specially if you use the autolock feature and that’s why I disabled it for my wife’s RAV4.
