I guess you didn’t catch the part where Jared and Mike devised a plan in hopes to increase THEIR odds of bringing Marino down to the ground. Mike even had been staying off the farm so that Jared could harvest him. Mike just got the luck of the draw this time around. That deer was doing what was natural to it and he was harvested. I really believe these guys are selfless and are great buddies regardless who harvests what deer. If there’s one thing I personally know is there are no guarantees in hunting and once you start thinking about how you get the short end or that was “my deer” you’re not going to have many hunting buddies that want to hunt or own property with you. I can’t speak for Jared but he probably came across a great piece of property and by selling his part of the River farm to Mike he’d be able to acquire this piece.

Also you do realize that that deer come on his personality owed property. Not the shared piece. True buddies are okay with how that played out.

She loves every second of it! Youth season is right around the corner and she is already chomping at the bit!

That's the way it goes sometimes. It bums me out for Jared. But I've followed extensively and one has to wonder if that's a deciding factor in jared selling his portion of the river bottom farm? Either way they have been buddy's so long it's unlikely a deer could come between them.

That’s how hunting free range animals goes. It was both of their property. Not one person owned that deer. I guarantee Jared was bummed out but I can imagine he was happy for his good friend. I’ve chased lots of deer that get killed by other people.. it sucks! But all you can do is congratulate them and shake their hand and chase the next one
