I was thinking about doing a current coatings video, I plan on calculating the current cost for tax reasons I may be able to get a rough idea and then do a video

Short answer at this stage. No I wouldn’t do this project first, I would have done something slightly easier first.

I went to a wrecking yard and had a good look, I’m almost certain I’ll be fine and there’s plenty in the way. On final install I’ll cut any extra length of the threads to be sure.

That little plate was 2 days, longer if you count the thought and engineering to get it cleared. Thanks for the comment and hoping you enjoy the shorter videos

I had to goto a steering expert who then talks to my other engineer, I’ve been advised that as long as I don’t go over 25nm I won’t disrupt the brake away capsule for the collapsing steering column

He doesn't show it well in the video, but the part he is fixing to the chassis is the rail that guilds the upper steering column as it telescopes over the lower section, its designed to be fixed but as he said the torque spec on the upper mounting bolts is very important as this controls the breakaway force at which the column starts to collapse by sliding down the fixed rail.

Bolt straight on, still new to make sure your gaps are right but they’re factory fitment
