The ones I have are a 6 bolt and bolt up to the adapters. Part number is exactly the same as the 6 cylinder. Might be different for the manual version though, they might be 8 bolt
You're going so deep into this, At ~2:13:00 you say thanks to some guy named Ean? Do they have a channel? Id like to watch more crazy rare panel repairs that are in depth!
Yeah I went in a little blind on how much effort it takes to build a Ute. Edan is the guy who helped me pull out the engine, he doesn’t have his own channel although he probably should.
@@blacknightcreations i started My own performance shop this week. Things are going épic. And remember it was all off a suddent. hi lewis a little trick for putting the teflon seals on the rack is cut up a coke can wrap it around the shaft and slide the seal on straight up to the groove then slide the coke can back to the next groove then slide on the next seal and so on little trick the old man showed me can you see the light at the end of the tunnel yet cheers glenn
Ohh yeah that would work really well wouldn’t it, having come from the mining industry I’m use to putting on giant teflon seals so these were pretty fiddly
11:03 I wonder if a bit of heat on the aluminum housing could have potentially helped. Mind you not blistering hot but enough to expand that aluminum. Well played. I just found a couple Z3 racks for my Mercedes project on the cheap.
Definitely could have, my goal was to work out how to do it with basic tools so anyone watching could hopefully replicate it. Ohh nice they’re like hens teeth over in Australia and people who sell them don’t sell them cheap
Removing that washer your 99% there but you would be good to use threaded bar and wind it out, weld a nut to the end or double nut it and slowly wind it out 👍🏻
@@blacknightcreations if it’s not a factory option I don’t see it fitting with where your going. Just thought I would throw some VAG group comments into your video
@paulpobsanderson6219 well thank you! Yeah there’s definitely options do to something in that spare space. You’re in luck because I have to use the genuine bumper and normal exhaust.
I'm just about to go buy a shirt, fella, great content. You've really come a long way, mate. I'm looking forward to the rest of your build and future content once you've finished this build! It is inspirational and gives me the confidence to do more myself! Even though I have no real idea what I'm doing but hey, you need to push yourself to grow. Just changed the head on my Toyota Surf and about to lift it, which, without you guys doing this on RU-vid, I'd pay someone else to do.
Hell yes brother! It’s soo cool to read comments like this saying I’ve inspired someone to go beyond their comfort zone. Awesome man, love seeing the notifications of a new purchase. Thank you so much for the support.
