it means you can reposition it during the process of application it means it doesn't dry so fast that you can't move whatever it is you're glueing something to. like if your gluing a piece of trim to a piece of wood and you don't have it in the right place you can move it because the glue isn't going to dry or be that tacky that you can't move the piece of trim it doesn't mean that once it's dry and cured that you can remove whatever it is you've glued. like your card you stuck it to a cabinet or whatever and it's stuck to the cabinet and that's where it's going to stay it's a good glue because nothing's going to move once you've put it where you wanted it and it's cured. that's why it said it's washable for fabric because once it's glued to the fabric and cured and you go to wash and dry it it's not going to come off because the glue is such a good adhesive.
No judgement on your medicine cabinet--I think it's artsy and cool. Thanks for the reviews--I had not seen either of these and I would probably have gotten them just to try them. I like the "repositionable" one and will probably get it. I love that you have the Weller heat gun. I love mine and it's got to be going on 20 years since I got it. Mine's covered with paint, glue, gel medium and who knows what else. It is such a workhorse, but I remember being mocked for spending so much for a heat gun.
Judy Corona It was SO worth it, right? I've never regretted the expense since it gets so much hotter than most craft heat tools and clearly the thing is built to last!
Crafty Come Lately, the spray E6000 is completely different from the stuff in the gray tube. Regular E6000 is solvent based and very toxic. The spray is latex based and has virtually no odor and no harmful chemicals whatsover. It's completely safe for indoor use but it doesn't work worth a crap so there ya go! ;)
Thanks for the review! I appreciate finding out what products actually do before buying them, and totally love both the Beacon decoupage and Yes paste that you recommended before. :)
What I like about it is the gold leafing possibilities! But also, you mentioned that with paper to paper gluing if it seeps out by the edges, it will stay sticky forever, but if you have some cornstarch (i put mine in a fabric sack to use as an embossing buddy) and patted where it was sticky, it wouldnt stay sticky. Obviously the white from the cornstarch would show up some on black but if you're using any other color you wouldnt see it
Pink Poodle Crafts I use Baby Powder with cornstarch in it for that. For some reason it doesn't leave as much white behind as plain cornstarch. Plus it smells good. Like a baby. :)
The repositionable glue is pretty impressive, I would definitely buy it to glue with, but not for the repositioning. As for the washable part.....I wonder if they mean you can wash off the stuff that stuck fast. I have the spray, but haven't used it. Love your medicine cabinet....and the tree topper on the wall....perfect!
Thanks for the great info. Now I love the medicine idea. It looks so nice and it is organized. Mine is a mess. I love the tags you made. You have more talents. Organizing being yet another one of them. TFS We are now in MO one more long day of driving. :( I can't wait to get home. Hugs, Linda
Wow, Shannon! What a creative, beautiful way to handle your meds. You are so organized. I'm jealous or maybe it's that I'm too "busy" to label things...lol...I like the second glue, too. Have you tried it with fabric to see how that works? I've seen the spray stuff before but didn't buy it. Glad I didn't. Thanks for the info.
Susan Leslie I haven't tried it with fabric but E6000 has another one (in a tube just like this one) that is specifically for fabrics. There's 2 or 3 others that I haven't tried yet. And now E6000 has their own line of paints that I haven't tried either! I can't keep up!
Shannon Green Yeah, they're always coming up with more stuff to take your money! You really have to be vigilant which is why I appreciate this type of video so much!
Hi Shannon, Have you use the long tube one on adhering metal embellishments and things like rhinestones or other things like that. I purchased this glue not knowing it was different from the regular E-600 and thought that the product change was all about the packaging since I have my cap of my other tube glued shut and can't find any pliers in the house.. maybe you know. Thanks so much!
Wondering if the extreme tack glue (in the tube) has an oder? I'm super sensitive to smells and have a hard time using the regular e6000. I am really interested in trying this glue. My walmart carries it, so thanks for the review! Blessings!
JJsJoyfulCreations The one in the tube has almost no odor at all. Maybe a slight gluey smell but definitely nothing close to the solvent smell of regular E6000.
I love the E6000 spray adhesive but it does have a learning curve. I use for just about everything, but really like it for paper piecing. When using, don't be so close. Back up and put a fine even coat of mist on the paper.. Then let it sit for 10 seconds, then stick it down (it will be tacky). Yes, you might have to hold it for a few seconds but it will hold. If it is a slick surface spray both sides of the paper and then stick the glue to glue sides together. I love being able to spray inside the house w/o a lot of overspray. Make sure to wipe off the nozzle after each use as it will clog, just like any will. Just my thoughts on how it worked for me.
Tcee E I'm so glad it worked for you but it's just giving me fits. I've tried spraying thick, thin, both sides, one side, stick it down immediately, wait a few seconds and then stick it down, stood on my head and stuck out my tongue, etc. Nothing works for me!
Shannon Green you are so funny...at least you gave it your all, and got some exercise too. Maybe it depends on where you live. I live in a very low humidity area.
Thank you for the review. I was at Walmart the other day and I was reading the label on the tube and it wasn't making much scene to me so I decided not to buy it. Next time I go to Walmart I will pick up a tube. Looks strong, durable, and flexible.
Thanks Shannon for the review. Are you sure that this E6000 spray form is safe to spray in a regular room? I have the regular E6000 glue and since it has so many warnings about cancer and danger, I have it in another room by a window for when I use it. But since it's so far away, I rarely use it. I wound up using Glossy Accents for beads and quick things (I don't have a functional hot glue gun either). Double check the label to make sure the spray is safer than the sticky glue.
My E6000 spray sucks. Brand new bottle and it pumps in a little baby Stream. Took everything out cleaned it up and still dribbles out. Very upset since I paid 12 bucks for this bottle. Mine must be defective because yours sprays much better than mine.
Thanks for during this Shannon. It really helps. I don't tend to buy a lot of glues. I stick with a few of the same ones but at least I know what does what if I need something different. I appreciate it. :-)
Has anyone used the E6000 stitchless on fabric, and if so what kind of projects? I am legally blind and would like to use the stitchless on pillows and maybe a blanket. Suggestions?
+psal23v I can't reply to your RU-vid comments but if you'd like to fix that here's how: In the top right hand corner of any RU-vid page you will see a bell shaped icon. That's where your Google+ notifications show up. If you click on the bell you'll see a gear icon at the top left. Click on that gear icon and it will show you your notification settings. The word "Settings" will be highlighted in blue...click on it. Your Google+ settings will open in a new tab. The first 2 options are settings for who can interact with you and your posts. Set both of those options to "Anyone". That will insure that any time you comment on a RU-vid video, your comment can be responded to.
I usually use 3M 777 spray for my glue up projects but it is messy stuff and hard to clean up. This looked really great when I found it in WalMart. After a dozen pumps the pump stopped working. I poured some out into a disposable dish and found chunks. The sandpaper that got some on it didn't stick. At all. not even for a second. What a waste of money. Made in the USA but someone screwed up. Don't bother.
When I misplace something, I will wait for a while before replacing it... but as soon as I replace it, it will finely show its face.. So I say go out a get a new corner rounder and cropadile and save the receipt so you can take them back when the old ones show up. Just Saying!!! Love the medicine cabinet!!
Tammy Pluskett That's probably what I'll end up doing. Ya know how back in the old days you had to have an actual airline ticket in order to fly? One time I bought 3 way in advance to get a good price then proceeded to lose them 2 weeks before the trip. Replacing them cost more than the original tickets but I had no choice. Then 2 days later I found the original tickets. That was 20 years ago and I'm still traumatized over it.
Hi Shannon! Thanks for the review, I had seen the spray before but really was not sure if I wanted to buy it. Now I don't think I want to lol!! =) But the super sticky one I think I am going to give it a go =)
+psal23v Regular E6000 in the grey tube! Rough up the areas to be glued first, add a tiny bit to both surfaces, stick together and let cure for at least 24 hours!
E6000 is one of those glues that you have to have glue on both sides of the object that you need to glue...kind of like rubber cement...maybe it is the same for that spray glue...might need some on both sides...just a thought
Dorothy Burt According to the manufacturer, you only spray 1 side when gluing paper, photos, cardboard, etc. I did try spraying both sides and it still didn't work. :(
Charlie Whelan There are lots of different types of E6000 but the ones I mentioned in this video really don't lend themselves to being spread with a brush. The original E6000 in the gray tube is just too darn thick. The super sticky one in the skinny tube could probably be spread with a brush but it would ruin your brush. The spray glue could definitely be spread with a brush but there's really no reason to do that since it doesn't work!
Thank you for this interesting review. =) That sort of Reposition-able glue, seems pretty good. .. =) I love the labels you made for the medicines. Your cabinet looks really cool. *LOL!* I thought that was a cat... (Jason's "Soprano moment"). ;)
Do you all have good luck with the regular E6000? I can't get that stuff to stick anything. At. ALL! Is there some special way to use it that I am not aware of? I've had several tubes. None of it would stick anything.
maybe the tubes I have had have been old. Do you put it on both sides, wait and then stick them together after a couple of minutes or so? I have not done that.
For non-porous items, yes you put a thin layer on each side, wait a couple of minutes then stick them together. Also, if you're using it on a really slick surface it helps to rough up the surface with a little sand paper.
+Joey Rodriguez Well...yes and no :) It depends on what you're trying to remove it from. Sometimes you can get it to let go if you use a strong solvent, something like Goof Off.
I was wondering how you were going to talk about E6000 for 25 minutes. I shouldn't have doubted you. If anyone can ramble on about glue and yada yada...it's you. Entertaining as usual.
