Yes! I am happy with the EASE of using the Loctite, but it's also great not having unwanted glue oozing all over creation. :)

Here’s a tip for E6000. Remember you mentioned how when you open it , the glue practically gushes out. Well, you can take a little sandwich bag, squirt your glue into the corner. Seal the bag, squeezing out the air. Take a tiny scissor and snip off a teeny tiny point of the corner and squeeze it out of there. Plus your glue won’t be wasted and can be saved for a while.
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 4 года назад
so you only put enough in the bag for one use? Otherwise how would you seal the little hole in the tip?
@bettireagan
@bettireagan 4 года назад
Yes One use. But any unused glue will last in the bag for a while. Just fold over the hole and seal or something.

Awesome video, Lolly. Thank you. I'm going to try the Loctite when I use up my E6000. E6000 instructions say to allow 24 hours for glue to cure. Maximum bond may not be reached until the 72 hour mark. You only allowed 4 hours before your experiment. I feel the E6000 would have blown viewers away at its maximum bond strength.

I thought the same too. There are also other glues you might want to try, like Barge Cement and Gorilla Glue, if you don't already know them. Super glue is cyanoacrylate, which is a beast of its own and has its own advantages and disadvantages.

I disagree. The loctite is without a doubt the strongest glue there. Loctites main use is mechanical. I use it to glue nuts and bolts together on my harley.

Lolly, thanks for this nice video. I am using Loctite and I recently purchased E6000 3.7 oz. I did not open it yet since It scares me. :) I believe when I open it it will push a lot of glue out and create a mess and I will waste some. I watched several videos that after 36 hours E6000's bond strength is far better than others. I believe that is why it is called jewelery glue. And thanks for others (Crafter's Pick & Diamond Glaze) I won't purchase any of them.

Lolly, thank you for this information. The rice tip was great. What do you recommend to permanently attach transparency film/acetate to paper or cardstock as a window? Everything I've tried so far releases once it is dry. I haven't tried the Loctite or E6000 (which is the search that led to this video). If you've tried this, I'd love to know. Also, I have done some of the one side laminating (love it) but have mailed cards with flowers or other embellishments which arrived unattached from the laminated side of the paper. So, your information will be great for this, too. Thanks, Lolly.

This was a great help, Thank u. I will try the loctite. I would really like some advice please. I have some very finely cut out pieces of wood that is being glues as flower details onto canvas, I really dont want the glue showing around the edges when I press it down to be glues down. I started off trying extra strong permanent double sides tape to keep the project clean but I have a bad idea that maybe a few months time the tape will dry out on the canvas and the wood will just fall off... even though its only very tiny pieces. It worked but I am worried as I will be selling the finished piece. Is Loctite my best option ? I need a small nozzle as I need to apply really fine details pieces. Thanks for your help.

Hi.. I ordered the loctite... and the glue itself is great ! The only word of warning I made the silly mistake of not checking how much glue was inside this nice looking bottle, there is only 3g! so this will only be for very very small projects, the glue I have been using had 70g. The glue is amazing, but will only last a few times even of used very sparingly. I just wish there was more inside... the bottle looks and works great though : )

luminor007 I tend to use only a drop here and there, for gluing on small items.
@luminor0077
@luminor0077 7 лет назад
Hi Lolly, Just an update for u... I have now tried another new loctite called Super Glue Precision Max, it has 10g and cost the same as the 3g Gel in your video. The tip is even more precise (as u dont have to push so hard on the sides and the nozzel is longer and you can see more clearly how much you have in the bottle) and it doesn't run everywhere as you can add such a small drop with i and it will be stuck solid after just 15 seconds. I used it on very small pieces of wood and canvas. So really you get 10g bottle and it does the same thing and costs the same. Hope this helps. (I have also ordered some other 50g bottle glue I will let you know how that works also as it will be thicker glue more like a gel if that's what you need)

No, you just don't want to use it in a small, closed up room. Use it in a well ventilated room. It's mostly about the smell.

Cyanoacrylate -- aka Super Glue also referred to here as Loctite is not a good gap filler. It works best for parts that fit very tightly together. Imagine if the ruler in your experiment had a tiny trough cut in it to match the diameter and path of the wire. The contact area would go way up. E6000 is able to skirt that problem because the glob of adhesive envelopes the part being held.

yes, the glob helps.

Hello, I am 2 years late but I am about to start making Jewelry Christmas Trees, is loctite the way to go?
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 5 лет назад
I like it, but it dries up too quickly. It does have a fine point though, which helps. I use a lot of BETTER Ultimate Adhesive as well now, because it's permanent but non toxic tinyurl.com/y44bcodl

Are the E6000 and Loctite glues waterproof? Like to reglue a foam insole in a water shoe? 😊

Vickie Byrd loctite might not be a good choice, since it's for tiny areas, and I haven't tried it on porous surfaces. Try E6000 though. It's a marvel

Check out the videos of people who renovate shoes and sneakers. They mostly use Barge cement - "All Purpose" or "Infinity". Cobblers seem to use professional-oriented cements like Master brand

I have used E6000 and Gorilla Glue. My fingers aren't strong so I can't get any glue out of the tube. I ned to go with a good glue that is easy to squeeze. I will try the Locktite and hope that is better. I have spent a lot of money on glye that I can't squeeze out of the tube.
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 4 года назад
I hear you! I had to give up on many glues because I can no longer squeeze the tubes. I use this a lot now, and it's less toxic than E6000: www.etsy.com/listing/607271634/better-ultimate-adhesive-clear-non-toxic

Great video. I feel loctite has unfair advantage here as its main purpose is mechanical. Ie sticking auto parts together. I guess using it as a crafts glue obviously works but at some point i would expect it to eat straight through some mediums. I love loctite, But only when absolutely necessary.
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 4 года назад
it may have an advantage, but I've used E6000 for metal-to-metal for years. My application is actually paper clip art, so that's why I needed to use paper clips

You need to try the uv cure glues that are available. It stays liquid untill you shine a uv torch onto it, then it sets rock hard almost instantly, you have total control over the setting instant and it's transparent. The set product feels like set 2 part epoxy glue....very hard....give it a try its cheap too!

I just took a class from Judikins, and they have a UV activated resin

Random guy here, know nothing about this art. If you want maximum strength, take a look at metal epoxies. JB Weld original is a good one, rated at ~4000 psi. But the E6000 is impressive itself, rated at 3500 psi (www.e6000.com.au/specifications.html). Super glue isn't meant to be a structural adhesive, it's quite brittle, but probably fine for these applications. I would personally go with a UV cure adhesive (high end), or super glue (cheap). The UV features instant controllable cure, with no toxic fumes.

Because of the unique non-toxic sealant qualities of crafter's pick, you should allow for it's drying time before judging it. Just my 2c.
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 5 лет назад
Like I said in the video, in the past I've let it dry for 24 hours and it still did not create a permanent hold. How long is the drying time, then, if not 24 hours? What materials have you glued successuflly? Paper clips are a tough item to glue. Such a small surface area, plus being metal.

Just a "note" the result of using "hot glue" is very much depending on the "stick" that You put in the "gun". They come in different varients, so without knowing what "stick" You were using it really doesn't give any "firm information" as to how good or bad using a glue gun is. Best regards.

Loctite glue is horrible and it's the same thing you can get a 3 pack of those squeeze tubes for a buck that's all it is is one of those for $5. Total rip off lol. I personally don't think it any better then the superglue gell just 15x the price lol

@my2centz196
@my2centz196 5 лет назад
@@LollyPalooza yeah I had high expectations when I purchased it but found out it was no better then the 3pks actually worse because ⅓ of the tube gets wasted unless you remove it from the plastic. I like the T8000, clear gorilla glue if you have 24hrs to cure or regular super glue and baking soda. I'm not saying the loctite if horrible I'm just saying it's a rip off. Compare it to regular super glue gel then when empty take it apart and you will see how that big piece of plastic is hiding a tiny squeeze tube lol.

Not to be sharp with the question but why didn’t you allow the adhesives time to cure so we can get an idea how good the products are or not? Anyway, testimony; Jesus delivered me from meth, adderall, alcohol, cigs and bunch of other stuff back in September 2014, no rehab or any other outside help. Just the Lord and His Word. Eternal life through Jesus Christ alone. Put your trust in and abide in Him.
