This was my mother's favorite cake she would make them every year for our church revival. Sometimes she bake about 10 to 15 cakes and this was always the favorite one.
One way to have a smooth cutting cake. Separate eggs. Whip egg white to fluffy egg whites with hand mixer add to the end after everything else is mixed up. Add the yokes in with butter and sugar mixed. Like I said add whites at very end but fold it into batter with spatula, put in Bundt pan or layer pan whatever you use to bake with, and you cake will cut so beautifully smooth no crumbs.

Yummy. When I was 12 years old my girl friend and I baked a homemade pound cake three time a week. This gave us something to do. All the ingredients were inexpensive too.
I made this cake, it was good, made it on a Tuesday night and it was gone Wednesday evening. It was very dense and heavy. I only used 2cups of sugar which was perfect. I will be making it again soon.

Great cake! That one really had a beautiful color and the inside looks so pretty and moist. Never used condensed milk in a cake before but then again, why not? You must be my cousin. 🤣🤣🤣 My mother used PET milk in her coffee and we would put it in our cereal. I would always eat oatmeal when we ran out of milk.

Hi Ms. Donna. If you use unsalted butter, why do you add salt? Why not use salted butter? What does adding salt (or not) do to the flavor of the cake? ☺
To answer your question, adding salt to a cake does what salt normally does to food. Salted butter has a different and, to many, less flavorful taste than the unsalted kind. Also, you can control the final saltiness of the cake if you add salt to the batter, rather than relying on salted butter alone. Similarly, it's hard to control cake saltiness if you add both salted butter and salt.

Hello Mz Donna! Well, I gotta say thanks to you and old schoolz , y’all are the first that I Learned about the crème bouquet and I love love it! It almost similar “ Fiori de Sicilia” it too has a citrus 🍊 flavor and when I say it only takes a drop! Only a drop. Oh! I also gave you a big shout out in my video. I had to tell my cooker’s fam how I learned about the time in creaming the butter and sugar for 12 mins. I never heard that before, but Mz Donna, it changed my texture and everything. You need a oven caliber or get a pan of hot water and put on the bottom rack and the stream will help bake it evenly and make it super moist my auntie taught me that trick sometimes your oven might be cooking to fast the water bath will help it
