I'm still convinced that a lot of people born/bred in the free state / ROI hate people from N.I and its absurd, Catholics in the north all suffered at the hands of the brits whether they were republican or not, if you want to hate unionists from the north be my guest but Catholics from N.I are as Irish as anyone from the ROI, id almost argue more Irish in a way as we all went through misery, as a child i was dumb and i would approach the British army on the streets and ask to hold their gun, i was maybe 5, they would let me so in my Naivety i would then argue they were okay, i realized years later the Ira were potentially in there area and the brits were fully aware of this and were essentially using all use children as human shields or as a deterrent from gunfire, the brits were extremely sinister and we had them in our towns and cities for years whilst people lived in peace in the free state, so why the hatred? we were the oppressed, i even had a guy in the ROI call me a Brit cause i was from n.i, its insane.

Their appearance was clear proof we had won the battle, that the RUC was beaten. That was welcomed. But there was confusion as to what the proper attitude to the soldiers might be. I think he's a bit optimistic, there are FBI and other US security service's posted at Mi5 and GCHQ, Irish American's that serve in the highest posts in US politics are not in the least bit on the same page as us at all. In fact they're all in the Neocon camp as far as I can tell. The future lies in the East not the West as I see it.

***** If they did it wasn't because they had the IRA's best interests at heart. When a conflict starts the British government ask the BOE to create an amount of money out thin air which the taxpayer pays back with interest. The British government had a dilemma back then, they were sucking forces back home from various parts of the globe, that was a huge problem for the US&UK 'special relationship'. You really think people like Peter King was on our side? Have you heard this guy speak? No mate, the IRA was kept going for the sake of having a 'threat' that all these countries depend on for emergency legislation and increased secrecy. That way they can work on their property portfolio without an awkward questions.

Great piece of footage of Eamon Dunphy talking sense and about what Irish people should seriously be thinking about come the next general election and voting Sinn Féin, it's the only real solution to defending Ireland's corner in the E.U. and I think they would be able to get bankers debt and the public debt as separate issues and have a write down of the bankers debt that we shouldn't have to pay to save the €euro and once that's out of the way,we will have enough cash reserves to pay for the unification of Ireland. 26/11/2014. Irish time 21:51 . Wednesday.

It's difficult to see where we will be come the next general election. Fine Gael are shite, Fianna Fáil are shite, and Sinn Féin are hard to read. So we really don't have many options. I've been thinking Sinn Féin recently but I'm not too clear on their position with the EU. Also, they have never had a chance in government but who's to say they won't be the same as the rest with empty promises. I can see them not taxing the rich in the end after all their talk about taxing them.
@pauldunneska
@pauldunneska 10 лет назад
oisind1234 the only way to really know is to vote them in,I can really see them keeping their promises because they are so passionately Irish and they have been euro sceptic but seem pro euro now, but the way I see it they will defend Ireland stronger than other political parties from Ireland because they are the only party who represent all 32 counties of Ireland,they are after all the richest political party in Europe, so that says alot about them running a country because they can manage their own affairs so well unlike Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael and Labour parties who are all in debt,so if those parties can't even run their own political parties without going into debt how do they expect to run a country. Sinn Féin into power and make Ireland the best small country in the world and United and prosperous after the Irish border referendum within ten years.

Eamon makes very valid and salient points here. I think someone like Gerry Adams who has seen and been through it all could really bring something positive to the table if he ever became Taoiseach. I don't see him becoming as corrupted by corporatism and the bankers being a hardline nationalist and patriot. Ireland never hated Britain or its people, just the Empire and the ruling class who subjugated Ireland and one quarter of the rest of the planet. Point is if Sinn Fein were the ruling party I think they would want to secure healthy relationships with the rest of the world while wanting to secure Ireland's borders and maybe eventually pull Ireland out of the EU and maintain a solid relationship with Britain after Brexit and it's unique relationship with America. I think it could be the start of something good. Gerry Adams was no more a murderer than Winston Churchill or Abraham Lincoln depending on your point of view. While we should never forget, we should still not let that prevent us from moving forward and therefore taking the stigma out of nationalism. Hope I'm sort of making sense here!
@TheSubpremeState
@TheSubpremeState 4 года назад
Would you trust Adams? Who knows where he's interests are.
@padmac8176
@padmac8176 4 года назад
@@TheSubpremeState I think he should be given a chance. You can apply the same argument with Yasser Arafat and Muammar Gaddafi as well. Both former "terrorists" (Arafat for sure) and then they became effective leadership. Arafat got worldwide recognition for negotiating peace deals with Israel and Gaddafi in Libya wanted to introduce a gold backed dinar currency for the African continent to stand up to the Rothschild owned central banks which keep most of the planet in a state of debt. Both were considered monsters by the mainstream media for years but they had their countries interests at heart. Libya was prosperous and peaceful and friends with the West under Gaddafi. Now it's an empty vacuum of chaos with slave markets and controlled by CIA backed terrorists. All I'm saying is Adams should be given a chance to prove himself and the good thing about Ireland's proportional representation system is he could probably become elected quite easily. Sinn Fein have become popular in recent years now they have become a mainstream party so I think it's quite possible.

Brendan Hughes says he saw the British Army radio receiver in the McConville's flat and that she had been warned once already by Republicans not to inform. I think the British Army saw her as a win/win in that if she gave them information that would be great and if she was killed by the IRA then it allows the IRA to be seen in the worst possible light as she was a widow with 10 children and a Protestant. Denials about her helping the British absolve them of playing any part in the situation. The rise of the drug culture coincided with the rise of the Provos. The gun may be gone from Irish politics but it most certainly is not gone from Irish society.

I became a member of Sinn Fein few months ago, because under the other parties Ireland’s homeless problem continues to worsen, this country is a goldmine we have some of the richest waters off our coast yet our fisheries our oil and gas are being sold off without the peoples knowing, instead of being a rich nation previous governments have sold us out to the corrupt bankers and our great grandchildren will still be paying of that debt, drives me fuckin insane

I can only imagine how the UK would react to Gerry Adams becoming Taoiseach. Whether Ireland likes it or not, it is still intertwined with the British economy. Also what hope would there be for support for a united Ireland in unionist NI with Gerry Adams at the helm? I think Mr Dunphy has been hitting the whiskey too hard.
