I think I know what you mean, there's more bass and kind of more energy in the music, and earls flow seems a tad bit energetic as opposed to IDLSIDGO where it felt like he was just talking into the mic, good album tho
yeah as well as the trippy and vintage sounding samples through out his beats like this beat, the only song with a beat even close to this was AM//Radio. also i think that the way earl has a slow monotone flow is probably one of my favorite parts about these type of tracks
the feel on this song reminds me of Wind in my Sails, Solace and Mirrors by him as well, which all were released after IDLSIDGO. Could definitely bump an Earl album with these lo fi, sample heavy tracks.
Those are all great tracks and i totally agree about the sample heavy tracks, very excited to see where earl will take his sound in his next full project.

The reason the song is so short is because he's hinting at death. If he were to die now, he would have lived a short life, and everyone would feel the same way this song does, wanting more. "Tell grandma I'll be with her shortly, I won't panic when they send her for me" and "She asked me if I'm smoking again, I told her that I probably gotta go in a bit" he's thinking he'll die soon
I still think that this is one of the most impressive rap songs I've heard. How can somebody make a minute and twenty seconds song about the feelings of loss, the inability to be vulnerable, the struggle to change for the better, and a disillusionment with your childhood memories, all the while rhyming like every second word? it's incredible
