Too early to make any conclusion. The Starting pitching is still not championship caliber without Cole. If he cannot return I dont think they can win in the playoffs. Offense is better but there will be days when they will struggle to score runs until Judge and Stanton start hitting for power consistently. DJ Lemieux will be missed but not greatly since Yanks picked up Birdi from the Marlins... DJ expected back in late June. No question that SOTO helps the Yanks score runs in close games that they could not do last year. Winning one run games is the difference between a good team and a bad one.

They are not great yet the league is lame so they look good. How does the closer line up with Mariano ?
