Easiest way of replacing tie rod ends and rack ends! 

YOU NEED TO ADD THE THICKNESS OF THE LOCKING PLATE TO THE MEASUREMENT OF THE RACK END TO TIE ROD END DISTANCE. IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU WILL BE THAT AMOUNT ON BOTH SIDES OUT.

It's called a castellated nut because it has castle-like features. The word castellated itself means castle-like more specifically having ridges similar to battlements.

And if someone dislikes your method, you can tell them to "Rack OFF!!" perhaps :) With that extra grease you are protecting the metal and joint from rust, when you replace it again years later, it should be easy to do. i see nothing wrong with that.

Just wondering why you don’t spread out an old sheet or tarp to take all that dirt out of the equation.

Had to service the transmission on mums VS we thought it was buggered, bloody bolts on the pan were loose and fluid leaked out

Hay man my tie rod keeps spinning as I try to thread the nut on and the locking pliers won't hold it. What a situation . Should they spin or is it stuffed.

I know this is an old video, but how hard was it to undo the rack end. I'm in the process of doing mine and having dramas undoing it.
