I have tied my bow ties one way, and one way only since the age of 15. 63 and still learning. This www. Thing is really catching on. There is hope for aspiring gentleman.
My bow tie doesn't come apart into two pieces ARRGH. I am going to buy one of yours just because of this video the next time I have a black tie event coming up. I get beyond frustrated trying to tie mine.
Appreciate the tutorial. I normally tie my bowties around my neck...but I bought the oversized bowtie and after about 5 times or so of watching... finally got it! Thank you for the instruction! 💯✊🏿🔥
I’m going to have to try this method. I have struggled for years trying to tie my own bow ties without success. I prefer the bow over a long tie and if I can get a black bow tie that comes apart, I’ll try to learn this method. That way my tuxedos will look o so much better. I have pre-tied bows that do look absolutely perfect but I have to try this method to see if I can make it work for me. By the way, I like my bow ties tight as well. They look really nice when they’re tight around the neck.
@hespokestyle I went through like almost ten YT videos before finding this (should have come to you first) and it was the only one that helped me for my black tie event. Thanks, Brian~
2nd nice video; the ones i watched before showcased ties that are one piece, unlike this one! by the way, i am very keen to know what are the layers you would put on when dressing UP in sub zero, freezing weather? cheers man!
One piece bow ties are generally nicer since you have to get them made in your size and that adds cost to manufacturing. I own both types and just think this is plain cool.
There's no difference between one- and two--piece bow and having them made to your own size. You can do the same with a two-piece bow. I had Nicholas cut me a bespoke size for my wedding.
I like to tie it around my neck because it ends up uneven and I like a little wabi-sabi on my bow tie. That being said, I’ll definitely try this method next time to see the results.
Oh man, thanks for making this video. My wedding reception is the day after tomorrow and I couldn't figure out this bloody thing from any other video or diagrams online. Thanks Brian!
Brian, Great Video. I've been looking for a satin jumbo bow tie. Can you also provide recommended brands for burgundy/red jumbo satin and velvet bowties?
You're welcome. My recommendation would be to contact Nicholas from Le Noeud Papillon. He can do anything you want! If we carried them in the HSS Shop, I'd send you there but I don't know if there is a big enough appetite.
Saved my arse! Getting married Saturday and my bespoke suit came with a tie exactly like this. Following your instructions, I had it down in about 3 goes!
3 for 3 in about 30 minutes. Thanks for the great explanation and detailed video. They have been sitting in my closet untied for years. I now have 3 new ties.
Brian I'm really enjoying your channel. Am I going to need to tie a bowtie anytime soon? Naahhh.....but I still enjoy your videos and your content. Keep up the great work.
Great content as always! I wanted to ask you about something a bit off topic, maybe you could talk about it in your next Q and A. What are your favorite music artists and albums? I fell in love with a Joshua Redmond's album you briefly mentioned in one of your videos. Thank you very much!
