@@RecoFlexthe fact is he’s right. I have an iPhone and it’s not Android that makes the pictures look like shit it’s our iPhones. We use technology from like over a decade ago on the iPhone. That’s why we need WiFi, Androids can use WiFi or cellular. It’s not being a hater it’s just a fact that iPhones are way behind in tech.

why doesnt iphones just let you select the original files. So annoying. I send the original jpg files with gps location, original quality/size/pixels, date and all other info over whatsapp or telegram or whatever app with my android. Iphone always has to be difficult.

iPhone loves making things complicated for anyone not in it's privileged community or making perfectly working devices obsolete because they can't update. They just want your husband's money, so tell him to get more online storage or a newer phone. Because that evil corp has lost it's moral compass along with Steve jobs. They only care about depleting the world of it's natural resources through child slavery, sweatshops and corruption.

"Copy iCloud Link" comes in later versions of the iPhone software so you might need to update your phone software. When you go into Settings -> General -> About, what version do you see there and what phone model do you have?

It's a limitation of SMS / cellular texting... cell phone providers could definitely fix this! Even Whatsapp will butcher the quality of images unless you carefully send a link to full quality files. - Lucas

My apple user friends often have an error message that says icloud storage full when they try and use the link. Is this an easy fix on their end? Also, is there any way to get airdrop or something similar between android and apple users?

I don't have the Android to iPhone shortcuts yet but I should! And if your Apple users are not paying for iCloud storage then they would just need to "Download" the photos using the browser on their Mac, into a folder. Likely they already have their iCloud too full and needing to pay which is their problem to solve, not yours.

My husband's iPhone 14 pro doesn't give him the "Copy iCloud Link" option. Is there another step to take for him to get that? I have a Samsung Galaxy s24+ and I'm firmly entrenched.

Hi But this does not help in saving the photos in android device when u share the iCloud link, does it? I have tried and i see no option to save in android device Please help!

I actually don't know how to help with that... I only did it once on my brother in law's phone. My vague memory is on the Android you click the link and it opens in a web browser view, then you have the option to Download the photos and save them where you want. But you need to choose where to save them. Sorry I am an iPhone and Mac guy and totally ignorant about Android! - Lucas

Hey man, nice video. Can u explain to me, even if i send the full 25mb photo from iPhone 14 pro to, iPhone 10 ( airdrop, iMessage, iCloud link ) the photo isn’t like i see it on my 14 pro, when sent, it seems a basic photo on the other phone and same if i check it on imessage etc… 🙏🏻 I’ll appreciate a reply

You would need to set AirDrop to send with full quality... I made a video about that recently. AirDrop full quality photos.

@@lucasmacinhome no, if you have the possibility and the time, please do a photo with an iphone 14 pro and after airdrop that photo on an iphone 10-11-12-13, the photo doesn’t look the same. It has the same amount of ( mb ) but they look different, I would love to show u what I mean but I tried to upload the photo on my pc and is the same thing. The only reason I can think of is, because photos are made in raw mode and no any other device supports that ? 🤷🏻‍♂️ ( I watched that video before sending u the first comment 🤗 )

Will this make photos lose their "date taken" when saved in Android? or do you have any advice as to how or what can I use to transfer all photos from iphone to android without losing "date taken from photos?

The date taken / metadata is preserved when you share photos this way!

@@TroyArchAngel That would be an issue with the photos themselves in that case… IE they’re already missing metadata before you do that iCloud link thing. Where did those photos come from?

@@lucasmacinhome okay there are some that are from facebook and those are definitely gonna have their dates updated. But there are others that are straight iphone photos with location. I even tried extracting the icloud zip to the camera folder, nothing seem to work. What's crazy is that we are in 2023 and there is not a single tool or app to do this perfectly without an issue. I tried a bunch of apps and methods nothing seem to work, even the cable from iphone to Android wire transfer, same issue. I would greatly appreciate it if you know about a tool or app that works perfectly.

@@lucasmacinhome haha I've been on iphone since 2007, made the change to OnePlus Open after years of being scared of the change. It's actually super easy and there's wasnt even much from iOS that I absolutely needed... Don't know why in my mind it was like I had millions of stuff stuck to iOS, actually not the case!

This problem, of course, is intentionally caused by Apple. When sending photos between Android devices by MMS, the quality is just fine, it's only iPhone to Android that's bad, because Apple wants it to be bad. Trying to make Android users 'not part of the cool kids club' is a big part of iPhones value proposition, so it's this and Green vs Blue bubbles, etc.

Ok so apparently I'm Phil because can' afford an expensive Iphone. My son on vaca in Maui sent me pics from his iphone. Of course they are in yhe iCloud. Tried to download to my a droid phone that is 3 yrs old. I have recieved photis from him before bc in mu gallery there are iCloud photos that are downloaded. Don't understand why I can't do it this time. Did something change with Apple? Which I hate btw. They are expensive and sorry use slave labor.

Funny.... Android can send hi res images to apple without any extra steps.... Its almost like apple is purposely making it hard to share with android. Or maybe they just haven't figured out the tech yet, they certainly have fallen behind Android in recent years
