Great video I hope you have or had an amazing time. You are correct it's trips like these that we get to truly put all of those skills to work. I look forward to the rest of the trip. Thanks for bringing me along for the ride.
Very cool! I fly from 15G so TSO is a usual breakfast haunt of ours. Also interesting to see you stop at IUA, I looked at a plane there but ultimately bought a 1959 172 locally. I like watching your travels as our planes have similar performance. Thanks for the great content.
Wow! Am I ever envious of you! My Tri Pacer days are 50 years ago. Your avionics were not even dreamt of back then. It was a big deal when I got an Escort 110 by Narco. Looking forward to the next segment! By the way, you and your wife are very courageous to strike out on those scooters! I see kids in our neighborhood using them a lot, but never the adults! Looks like fun on neighborhood streets, but not sure about the highways. LOL
Thanks so much! We really do love our Tri-Pacer and while the new avionics seem overkill I am really glad we have them on adventures like this. At 50 years old those scooters are sure convenient but we both bit the dust once each on this trip. Nothing crazy but somehow when you get older you loose your balance. :)
I still have the original Narco Superhomer VHT 3 coffee grinder 13 crystal set in the hangar. It also came with the Narco low-frequency radio range set. I upgraded to a terrible Narco Mark 3 Omni gator. All this off of a 20 amp generator. You needed about 1700 RPM to receive and transmit. But flew all over including up to Quebec City , down south toTexas for a couple years in the seventies. N8843D. I'm just north in Michigan from you it's great to see tri-pacer action!
Carlos M. Not bad at all. I do wish I had auto pilot for the longer flights in IMC. I’m glad I made the upgrades. I have used the in the real world a few times recently.
ETWOW scooters? It looks like I have the same one. They are awesome. Just don't have the scooter stop suddenly from high speed on soft ground like I did. Full on superman for me and I was lucky not to break both arms. :-)
PA22-135 Charlie Sierra yes! They are awesome but you are right. My wife and I both bit it once on this trip. They don’t like going down a 5” curb. Gets stuck on the bottom and off you go. Other than that they are super handy.
