Brilliant acting. Brilliant script. This IS how a tv soap drama SHOULD be. The rubbish the actors have to work with today is shockingly lacking in atmosphere, character, emotional growth ect. Bring back the good old days please! Thanks for saving this classic. xx
What gets me is all these over paid temperamental hollywoods stars who cant actually act and rely on looks to get fame!! they cannot cry or show any real emotion.. you can never beat the acting in this. Tiffany and Grant together really was iconic their whole dynamic was toxic and messed up but there was just something about these two, they had so much chemistry.
I was 20 years old and life was so good back then, ive now had 15 year of hell on Earth since 2005 after loseing my Son to a gold digger and a lier. Ive since lost everything even nearly loseing my Earthly life after now batteling suicidal thoughts for 3 years now. So these trips down memory lane watching these old Eastenders Episodes are makeing me smile after 15 year of utter hell on Earth that ive wrongly been subjected to since loseing my Son on 01.01.2005 so thanks for the uploading of these Eastenders Videos that are reminding me of kinder Earthly times that i had back then. Sanjay and Gita get in there lol. These old Eastenders were fucking brilliant what happened to Eastenders its got so crap. Needs a compleate over hall, with the old school characters staying. But Eastenders must get alot more new blood brought in. Characters Modeled on a few of these old school characters that are not in the soap any more the David Wicks the Steve Owens the Phils and Grants the Nick Cottons the Ricky Biancas Tiffanys Pats Kathys. CHARACTERS but now its just way badly put together. Yeah Eastenders has way lost its way some time ago the current Eastenders can't touch old Eastenders these old episodes are quality

The Hills-Raymond clan was SO underrated. Irene and Terry were comedy gold yet complex characters, Simon and Tony clashing with their in-laws, and of course the iconic Tiffany.
Great couple / actors - funny as hoot. Irene (Roberta Taylor) was Inspector Gold in the BILL, another actor (Michael (Russell Floyd) - Market Inspector was in the Bill too. Irene had an affair with their lodger, lol (great storyline). This was in 1997, nearly 23 years ago. Coincided with the passing of Princess Diane (31/08/1997), remember the day like it was yesterday. I was in Blackpool on a lads weekend. So wish we were back then in the 90s or earlier 😃
Even better when it started in the 80,'s..much better than todays crap..im watching the classic eàstnders at mo when if started in 1985. That year was when i furst watched it..it was good

Phil never really got over losing Kathy. He became far darker and more psychotic after Grant betrayed him and left and Kathy and Ben moved to South Africa.
At 237:46 Tiffany Saying ever think what we'd be like in 20 years time. Such a shame she didnt stay in Eastenders and shame that Grant Didnt Either. This was the real time eastenders went downhill after about 2000 afyer 15 years from the first episode
Are u kidding? EastEnders was great until 2007/08.. After that it became a bit depressing and went downhill like u would call it.. But until the mid 2000's that show was amazing

They were bonkers killing her off - the most popular younger character in Eastenders history - at least leaving the character alive there was the slim chance she would come back in years to come

I started watching EastEnders in Seattle . similar climates..the surrogate drama btwn Kate moss look alike was so suspense ful.. it is confusing..the PBS episodes from three years ago..were.?
In these pandemic times it's great to rewatch this. You almost feel happy after watching all these miserable faces. Imagine if you went on holiday in such a mood and expected it to turn out nicely.

Those saying 'It was better in the 80's, better in the 90's, better in the early '00's, you're all wrong in my opinion lol, its ALWAYS been awesome, had its crap storylines & characters ( Della & Binny, Dellas voice was so whiney!), had its amazing storylines like Cindy trying to bump off Ian (who wouldn't!) or the Evil Archie Mitchell & Janine kicking Peggy out of the Vic... But the difference between then and now isn't that its gotten worse, its that it was easier to enjoy back then because we didn't have a Govt. trying to shred our Country up to line their own pockets, doling out peerages like Polo mints amongst your mates, and generally leaving our Country depressed and miserable.... Basically, imo, Easties was better back then because LIFE was better back then, and we are looking back with slightly rose tinted glasses.... This is from a sad old lass who has watched it from the very beginning! lol x

Liked the eastenders goes to paris and Diane was upset twice she was having problems with her partner Thomas. Don't think his not good enough for her. He was packing his bag and Diane, her son jacques both came home. Diane wasn't happy that her partner Thomas he took everything of his stuff and he left her. Diane was upset and she giving her son jacques a cuddle.

@@tankdrives2 to be fair she was only young here about 19/20 so she had less experience, but she had a soft tone to her voice that’s probably why it came across that way.
honestly if Tiffany did that with Phil like Grant did with Kathy, grant would have something to say he was such a hypocrite but then expected Tiffany to stay faithful and she did because she loved him, but the thing with Grant was is that he saw women as damsel in distress
**sighs** I meant I liked them on screen together! They were always interesting to watch and I liked that they had great on screen chemistry that kept me and many others intruiged by them.. MUCH more than Grant and Sharon, or, well... Any other partner he had! And no, I don't approve of the abuse but Grant wasn't always like that and Tiff wasn't always the victim of it between the two of them.
MJ's Queen Lex i always thought Sharon and grant had far more chemistry but each to their own I suppose. Just for clarification they don’t have to be always abusive for it to be an abusive relationship.
