Good review. I have to agree with you on Eastern Music. They are a solid company with great customer service. So far I have their Ref. 54 copy, a solid silver neck, and 3 Fatboy copy mouthpieces. All excellent. I have a Mk. VI copy on order, which should be arriving within a week. BTW, my sax repairman, who happens to be an excellent player, was impressed with my Ref. 54 copy.
Sorry, no. I decided the Mk VI copy is a little too focused and sweet sounding. The Ref 54 copy sound is more of what I prefer right now. The Mk VI copy is definitely more refined and easier to play.
Great! I am curious to know your thoughts on the Solid Silver neck. I have not had a chance to try one yet. But I am really interested to know how it plays, sounds, feels etc?
The solid silver neck is very similar to the Yamaha neck I once owned, and it's a few hundred dollars less than the Yamaha. I actually have two of them. Definitely worth getting, if you want the very best setup.

Thanks for the review. I'm in the market for a bari, and I was going to buy a Singer's Day bari with my upcoming tax return. I just discovered Eastern Music today while looking through Ebay. Even though I haven't found any bari reviews, the alto and tenor reviews I've seen (including yours) make it seem like it's a pretty good brand for the amount of money that I am able to drop on it (which isn't much). And their designs are based on the best of the best and then they tweak them to make them even better. You will get a great sax for a fraction of the cost when you get one from Eastern Music. I can’t believe you use that neck strap with tenor, I feel like it’d cut through my neck 😂 This company and another one called taishan was recommended to me. You sound great though. Is that a v16? What reed?

Good video bro'!..........I too have a worn out mk6 tenor and another beat up Yamaha 875 but I'm ready to retire both! My question is, are these horns indistinguishable I playability from a mark 6and are they light weight just like a 6? ......Oh and does the metal seem softer?
Hello my brother! The horn feels solid in my hands. I was wondering at first if it would be soft metal when I ordered it. But it is not. It’s sturdy and I believe that the horn will last a life time. For me the intonation is better than my Mark VI. The response is better and more immediate than my VI. And the tone is full and has core. I do not want to speak negatively about any company because there are many great saxes out there. But for me I will never again spend 3k again for a saxophone. I can get a wonderful sax that plays great for less than 1k. And the horn is made to my specifications with my name on it. @@kennethhollinstv oh, I was scrounging thenet to find more about these horns and I just stumbled upon the repairman out of new York and he is selling horns for almost five grand and the neck brace looks exactly like the eastern music saxophones! The site is called "JL Woodwinds"!
Hello Will. It was custom made. The wonderful thing about Eastern Music is that you can request them to build you a saxophone to specific specifications. This is what I did. The brass quality is good! I have the major brands and still have a few now. My EM is my main horn now. Because I can get the closest to the sound and feel that I want with it. My neck is a copper power neck by EM. I believe that most of the sound quality of a sax comes from the neck. Many of the vintage saxes that many people love in terms of their sound quality has a higher copper content in the brass. Giving it a richness and warmth to the sound. The EM has a core and warmth. Pair it with the right mouthpiece. And you have a setup that will rival anything that is out there. The horn is inexpensive. It is far from being cheap! In my opinion there is a difference between the two.
