The details are were the difference comes in, Andrew and the great team at EastonMade find all the weak points and do the best they can to make them all the more robust and as strong as possible given the function. Videos like this highlight the R and D EastonMade does to find the weak points, fix them, test them, prove them out, and keep improving. Competition is part of it, forces a company to keep getting better on all fronts. Great video Andrew in all aspects. Your explanation of why you and your team do to make the great splitters you make is great. Keep up the great work and the great videos coming. 👍🏻👍🏻

Morning Andrew! An excellent video to explain the build components and reasons why they are important to the use and wear of the machine. It's really helpful to folks to understand these important attributes of the build quality that underpins the investment in one of these machines. As I was told growing up, if you are going to do something, be the best at it. If you aren't going to be the best, then do something else Cheers and thanks!

The top 4 brands of commercial grade log splitters in no particular order are Eastonmade, Wolfe Ridge, All Wood, and Brute Force. When people ask what splitter is good for them, I always answer with check out several models, and most of us are more than happy to do a demo run for people. For me it came down to Eastonmade and Wolfe Ridge. Went with WR because of shipping cost and getting a Honda instead of a Briggs engine at the time. If had tried out the Axis before ordering my WR, would've bought an Axis. I absolutely love the precision of a vertical and minimal mess from splitting with the single wedge.
@clarkharms
@clarkharms Месяц назад
Those are poor reasons to choose wolf ridge. Shipping cost is a one time fee and the engine IF total junk compared to a Honda (it isn’t but that is the common perception from the uninformed) can easily be swapped out. The machine itself is what you need to pay close attention to. The mutt mountain machine is not built to the same level as eastonmade.
@thefirewooddoctor
@thefirewooddoctor Месяц назад
@clarkharms WR is only a 165mi drive for me, so it is super easy to get any parts or take it to the factory for someone major. And who is this "mutt mountain" machine? You have to nitpick features and stuff to make the best decision for you. If I had tried the Axis before ordering my WR, I would've bought the Axis.

Great video on an incredible machine Andrew, i think you guys really knocked it out of the park with the bigger engine , engine idle and rotating conveyor! Great job. I do have a question for you personally about my 22-28 that I'm going to pick up in a few months. I've asked Jeremy but he says it's out of his hands. Why not offer a set of Grizzly bars for the 22-28 or 37D with attached conveyor directly from the factory? Except for Dan (who made a slip n slash) every channel that you've sent one of these to have had to custom make a set of Grizzly bars. As your customer myself, I'd happily pay for the option to have a set of factory made Grizzly bars rather than get to the woodyard with my splitter then have to f around and custom engineer them. As I'm positive a lot of other customers would too. What do you think of that?

Andrew, you do a lot of things better than your competition including the internet! The only real reason I got to looking at the Multitek 3040 XP2 is that it can cut 32 inch log diameter. They also have no price for their equipment like you do.. How does that machine compare to the Eastonmade 60C that can cut a 24 inch log diameter? Most of the logs are not that big but the speed of processing the bigger logs is a lot slower and a lot more manual effort if they can't go through the firewood processor. so my thought was to just have a bigger firewood processor. It would be an interesting comparison, to me anyway. I love that new and improved AXIS !!!

This video would be helpful to people who want to make an informed comparison. When you put stress on steel it does have a permanent effect on the steel. The springs on an old car do not hold that car up as tall as they once did. Then they can break. Farm machinery normally has many grease fittings. Plastic bushings are newer. How long have you been building splitters? I have been seeing chemtrails in your sky.

I don't know if we will ever get into that or not. My thought is that you would need to have a pile of rounds as tall as the pile of split wood to make it effective. If not you are still bringing the wood to machine rendering the feature of driving redundant in most applications.
