Easy 30/60/90 Degree Quilt Square - 4 Squares, 4 Cuts - Inspired by Architecture!

Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back to the channel!
Today I'm taking some inspiration from my favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, and using 4 simple cuts from a 30/60/90 degree triangle to turn 4 squares into a unique and unusual quilt square.
You'll need:
4 different fabrics (8" square of each)
Thread
Sewing Machine
Rotary Cutter
Ruler with 30/60/90 degree lines
Pins or clips
This was a lot of fun to create and I can't wait to make a bunch more of these squares and put together a small quilt to show you the versatility of this simple block!

I also love Frank Lloyd Wright. My dad loved Frank's work too. When I was very young we visited one of Wright's home's while on a trip to dad's AMA meetings. It might have been Falling Rock. I remember a cave like feel. Thank you for this video.😊

Very beautiful. You’ve invented a new block that you should name! Love the colors you chose. You need to get enough to do a whole quilt and possibly use a sashing between the blocks with an anchor block in the corner if having that design looks too busy once they are side-by-side. Sometimes with a very busy design you can lose the original block design without the sashing. Then again it becomes a scrappy quilt without the sashing even if there are only a few prints. Thanks for sharing this new block. Do name it though.

I’m so glad you like my videos! I try very hard to make sure they are easy to follow. Something I trash whole videos that aren’t good enough, but I just film again and it works better. Im glad you notice my work.

I love this! I'm curious though...does this not work out if you added the seam allowance? Can you start with 8.5" pieces so you have your .25" allowance or does it goof up the angles?

You can use whatever size squares you want. I wasn’t aiming for any specific end size.
