Chain shrunk approx 60" not 30" I apologize, I sometimes get confused with all the numbers... so remember to make a huge chain 60" longer than what you want
As I watched this video, I couldn’t help but notice your beautiful hands! Your skin is so smooth and wrinkle free😊you could have been a hand model! Thank you for choosing to share your crochet skills with us; this pattern is beautiful.
Crystal! 🙏🏻 I appreciate your tutorials very much because there is no distracting nail art/nail polish and finger jewelry. I can focus purely on the hook/yarn and your soothing voice as I crochet along with you. 😊Thank you very much. ❤❤❤
I love this so much. It is so different from others. I love the sharpness of the chevrons but then the rounded appearance of the actual stitches makes it even better. The color combo is gorgeous too.
When I first started crocheting, probably 40 some years ago, chevrons blankets were all I knew how to do. Just a basic double crochet ones though This is beautiful
I made myself a chevron afghan when I was in high school in 1972. Orange, brown, gold, & avacado. So 70s!!! I loved it but now I hate chevron patterns. When you showed this afghan the other day, I loved it. And the steep ripples are amazing. I've never seen a pattern within a chevron pattern. I bought this yarn in several colors from JoAnns. Thank you for this GORGEOUS pattern. TFS! Austin TX USA
@@alicehathaway1377 Exactly. I'm just finishing #2. But I have yarn for 9 more blankets. So I'll be busy for a while. Hardest part is picking which pattern to use!!! Glad to meet another Texas crocher!
My mother had a sharp chevron afghan that was her grand mother's when I was growing up. It was beautiful and lost many many years ago. I ha e always wanted another one. Thank you for this tutorial!
That's so interesting.... It reminds 'me' of the woodsy leaves in the Fall 🍂🍁🍂🍁 We must be both drawn to the Seasons 😍 Now we just need to Crochet the other Seasons ! Wouldn't that be cool ! Have a Great Day...GOD Bless 💜
Yes, 5 total... but the first one only had a chain1 before it, the others were a chain two, so I couldn't, but the first one in the repeat when I said repeat 4x... it would have been wrong..
Thank you Crystal gor a stunning chevron pattern. I don't ever use bulky yarns, sometimes I use 4 weight. I will make this pattern in #4 yarn right after I finishe the last shawl pattern
You've definitely got my attention on this one. It reminds me of an Amish pattern from years ago. You explain it so well and I appreciate it very much. 🩷🩷🩷
I really like the colours you've chosen for this blanket. If I were to put a border on this one (which I probably won't) I think I'd begin and end the blanket in the same colour, say grey, and then just do single crochets down was side in the grey. I'd leave the top and bottom edges because they look great as they are.
I love this! I’m going to make a blanket for my son next. Thanks for being such an amazing teacher. I seriously would not have been able to learn how to crochet 2 years ago without you. Love everything you do ❤
No one ever shows just how many peaks are in the afgahn they are making, could you tell me how many peaks are in this afgahn so i know how many it made for the amount of chains you did please. Also i always like it when an afgahn is started with the peak like you do. I don't like it shen people start with the valley. Great video Chrystal!!!
Ohhhh man, you had me until you said sc all the way through. My ADHD doesn't allow me to do an entire blanket in sc's. Dang it! I'll go look at one of your other ones.
Thank you for a beautiful pattern! I have a math question for the math folks out there. If Crystal went from a 98 inch (roughly 100) chain to a 38 inch (roughly 40) width blanket, is it accurate to say that my starting chain should be about 2.5 times as long as the desired width of the blanket? TIA. 🤔
So loving this pattern...I may have done something wrong on the ends but kept it consistent so it worked out ok... I've found crochet can be forgiving 😉 as long as it's consistent!
Crystal, i don't know if its Me, My cellphone settings or RU-vid but RU-vid won't let Me select a higher resolution picture quality on ALL your video's. I've tested this over and over on other content video's and Yours. I can set higher picture quality on every video except Yours. Ive went into RU-vid picture quality settings adjusted like it said but it still will not allow me to select a setting higher than 480p resolution. They are making Your video's blurry for some reason and I'm trying to figure it out. No matter what, I'm going to keep watching 🦋
So, dumb question. I am horrible at math. Using regular 4 wt. Caron yarn with 6mm hook, how many chains would a 50 inch wide need? Or is that possible to figure out?
Thanks for this chevron/ripple pattern. I’ve never enjoyed doing these (even though they’re supposedly beginner patterns) because of the constant counting. This is so much easier working in V stitches. This will definitely be one of my go to’s in the future ❤
I have had trouble with chevron because of the 7 stitches. I have added and it is hard for me to follow patterns The cut-up pattern in 1s, 2s, and 3s. Makes it so easy for me to follow. Now, my issue is waiting to get enough yarn to make it. Fixed income only allows $10 to $20 each month to spend. I can't quit crocheting. I give all my projects to those in need or people like me can't spend the money to get one of caps or scarfs
your verbal instructions can be confusing..to me. You do the V stitch once, and REPEAT it 3 times, not 4.... that is a TOTAL of 4 V stitches in the one stitch. Correct?
I really love this. I’m planning on doing a Bluey family color scheme blanket (for myself 😅) and I’ve been looking for a good chevron pattern to be reminiscent of their ears. 😂
you must have read my mind! I was going to make a Chevron blanket next! Will you be doing a written pattern for this one? Thanks Crystal for all you do for us!!!
hey Crystal, So idk if you've already done this if you have I hadn't seen it. Iv been looking for a good Diagonal Chevron pattern. I see regular ones but i would love a diagonal one. Unfortunately the only pattern i see on youtube is from a dead channel. Sadly she never finished the entire pattern only making the starting rows and not showing how to close those rows. Her video is also not really clean and the only comments says they couldn't figure it out the way she explained it. I got most of it but I think others would love to see it done as well. Anyways Ill come back to this vid when I want to make this pattern
This is beautiful! I am not a fan of afghans they take way too long I have a short attention span but this is gorgeous so I may have to try. Question though what about the same v-stitch along the sides, I love the lacy look of this so I was thinking the v-stitch might look good?
That is absolutely beautiful. Have you ever used a sharp chevron like this to make a sweater or top? I think that would be so fun! I may just have to give it a try and see how it comes out.
I think this is wonderful, but how do you handle the changes of colour? Do you carry the colours up the side, or cut them off at the end of the second row and darn the ends in? Help!
😂 sometimes hear Crystal's voice in my head with different types of V stitches... After the the first 2 stitches and chains I hear: "Aaaand two more doubles"
I just saw this yesterday and fell in love with this blanket. I placed my order with JoAnn's today. I cannot wait to make this. Everything I have crocheted over the past few years I have given away or donated. This lovely work of art I will be keeping for myself !
Crystal, this is truly a labor of love and patience. The outcome is simply gorgeous. This is to be made for someone you love. I will try out this pattern by making a scarf. Thanks for all your hard work.
Oh this is wonderful! Thank you for this tutorial. You've given us so many gorgeous patterns to play with. Can't wait to work on a chevron blanket with this pattern.
I love the Chevron stitch. I also love the colors you chose, as always. We have the same taste, so naturally I will always love what you create. Hope you have a Super happy rest of your week and always remember that I "Love You Bunches"!
