Replace the worst valances in the RV industry, standardize a porcelain toilet, a decent bathroom fan and some solar, offer an option for a 12 volt fridge and some comfortable theater seating instead of that dinette and you’d have a perfect couple’s motorhome👍👍
@@larrycox6614 It's not rocket science lol! For over $100,000 I definitely don't want a cheap plastic toilet, a $5 bathroom fan and a back-breaking booth dinette👍
I'm not a huge Class C fan. However, this one has an awesome floor plan. I would make a couple changes: 12V frig, a convection oven, a flip up/flush countertop (so it creates an L in the kitchen space), a more comfortable couch (that couch looks like a couple pieces of wood with fabric stretched over it...) and I change it get rid of the valances... they don't match the farm house look. Other than those things, I really like this camper. LOVE the farm house decor!
Your first statement "I'm not a huge Class C fan. However, this one has an awesome floor plan" is almost exactly how I feel as well. I've never had that interest in motorized like I have in towable for whatever reason. But this one spoke to me somehow
Very nice Murphy Bed, for a short coach it packs a good punch. Very workable layout. I love seeing Jayco doing what Jayco does best. Keep'em coming Josh. My wife misses "Best wishes from Bish's". as your sign off 🙂.
My wife and I saw this model last week and fell in love. It checked all of our boxes except for the refrigerator and shower door. We definitely would prefer the 12v compressor fridge and a glass shower door. Love your honest reviews and keep up the great work.
Yes to the 12 volt fridge and solar. I would like to see the 29XK. Before we had a camper, I really thought I would get a class c. We ended up with a travel trailer. We think we want a 5'th. wheel now, but class c is not out of the picture. Thanks Nerd.
I love this model. It has everything that we are looking for in a class C. 1st time I've seen one that meets all of my wants. Looks like I'll be making a trip to your Longview facility to check out what they have on the lot. Thanks for the video!!
OMG! Kids in the Hall! 😁 I think an option for a couch instead of a big u dinette would be great. For something small it has a good amount of storage! That Murphy bed couch looks a bit uncomfortable. I may have missed it but it doesn't seem that it had an enclosed wet bay. Deal breaker for me. A flip up counter to give more space in kitchen, a convention microwave and a 12 volt fridge...all a yes. Thanks, Josh! Like seeing the motorhomes!
Love the model. Great floor plan but Jayco should offer electric refrigerator, induction cooktop and/or convection microwave options. Side opening doors with slam-latch maybe too much to ask for. Thanks Josh for another great video.
I'm guessing too early to ask price, also, love the video, and YES to 12 volt and solar please once again nice video and roomy for single person like me.
Nice Floorplan! Lots of space when the Murphy bed has been stowed. You are right about us bigger people not having enough room in the drivers compartment. In my opinion the E450 chassis also has about the stiffest suspension around. If you are only going to drive a 100 miles or so, you would probably be fine, but if you decide to drive across the country, you will likely be very sore at the end of each day. You will feel every bump you go over. It would probably be OK for your Uncle Gary though!!!!!
I really like this Josh. It's making me reconsider a class B camper van for my upcoming retirement. The main reason for my leaning towards class B vans is the wider availability of lithium power systems for quiet or stealth off grid camping. Hopefully Jayco will offer their awesome Li package on class C's in the future (assuming the E450 chassis/7.3 can accommodate the second 48v alternator). But this is now, so things I would change: Things that could be done now. Yes to the 12 volt fridge. Upgrade the existing optional solar package to (2) Battleborn lithium (or similar) batteries, a compatible charge controller and at least a 1,000 watt inverter driving a couple of the 110v outlets. Add the shower miser system and switch to a Truma heat system. Upgrade the vent fan to a covered Fantastic fan. Edit - Lose the 110v mini fridge, add a 12v receptacle and add a small Dometic 12v fridge to the outside kitchen. Future state change suggestions: Option A) Go full electric with the awesome 48V Li system. No propane or generator. Bonus points for a two burner induction cooktop and counter space for a toaster oven, Instantpot etc. Keep the outdoor kitchen space with just 12v and 110v outlets. Add exterior 110v and usb charging outlets. Make the empty generator and propane spaces storage compartments. 12v fridge and convection microwave. Edit - The onboard air compressor From the Terrain. Option B) My personal preference, a hybrid if you will. Both the 48v Li system and propane. Keep the gas cooking appliances, including the outdoor gas kitchen grill but with an electric mini 12/110v Dometic or similar fridge. 12v fridge and conventional or convection microwave. Edit - No generator and the onboard air compressor From the Terrain. Option C) The "ok I'm dreaming now" package available with option A and B. A factory 4x4 conversion with a 2" inch lift. Quigley conversion. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for the great review as always, you rock dude.
Thank you so much. I feel like more and more focus is being applied to 12 all systems. I don’t think it’s unrealistic that we’ll see more things like what you’re describing in the next couple of years
Yes, 12 volt fridge!!! Single faucet in bathroom would save some space with the small sink. ? porcelain toilet...Also window or windows in bunk above cab! Agree that convection microwave would be nice and sofa doesn't look super comfy. Love the outdoor kitchen. Having an extra fridge is very handy!
Hi Josh, Thank you for the video, couple thoughts. 1) 12 VDC fridge YES 2) 12 VDC TV with DVD player upfront for my three knuckleheads from dinette while driving. (I love my grandsons)
12 volt fridge YES!!! Like this rig a lot Josh. Thanks for the tour and feedback. We have a Rockwood Roo 235s (2022) and at some point will be moving to a class C for more extended travel in retirement. wasn’t thinking about a Murphy bed but this power option is terrific! I wonder about the mattress question? Best, Barret
Hi Josh, Thx for video! I see they added DC frig as standard in 2024. Please pass a few suggestions to Jayco: (1) Add privacy curtain for bed (Chateau/4Winds #25M has similar murphy bed layout w/ curtain), (2) Use porcelain toilet (or offer as upgrade), (3) pull-out sprayer in kitchen faucet.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Hi again Josh, it would be nice to do video on 2024 Redhawk 26M. Do you have any in stock? Also, the 2024 brochure link below implies the swivel chairs are no longer in 26M model. Is this true? Lastly, do you know the sleeping length of 80" U-dinette? I imagine it's well under 80" due to sides of dinette. My son is 6'2" tall. assets-cdn.interactcp.com/interactrv/brand_brochure/brand_brochure_202306270544342904382154.pdf?modified=0627202317445013Something
I learned something today! Did not know that the rvs had seatbelts at the tables. Makes one wonder why school buses don’t have them. Other than fire escape time
Seems to me they missed the boat with exterior storage with this one. And YES I personally would lime to see the one next door as a video! Keep sendin em and we will keep on watchin brother!!
Cool beans, great developments in Class C’s. Definitely not my parent’s old RV anymore. Electric Murphy bed is nice as long as it’s got the ability for manual operation, I’m not completely trusting in electrical mechanisms. 2 a/c’s, shower headroom and nice sized bathroom are great. Entertainment center with tootsie toaster is awesome too.
I really like it but as a few have mentioned would like to see the 12v fridge, solar instead of generator, and step up from the plastic stuff. Otherwise very, very nice. 🎉🎉
i agree 100% with you on the smurf blue lights. bugs LOVE the color blue! and, we have owned two different wolf line rigs. in the second one, we cut out the blue light on the awning, and replaced it with red lights. puts out enough light that you can still sit and talk at a table, but not bright enough to play games. but, the bugs are not nearly as bad! wolf's are a great line, and we love our alpha! but c'mon, figure this one out.
Wow I really love this! Please let Jayco know that we would really prefer a DC fridge rather than an RV fridge. If that were an option we would definitely take the DC option.
love it, just needs tv in typical bunk spot for dinnete area and bunk to watch, and 12v fridge, more solar. nothing a buyer could not add later except 12v fridge
Wow, this is the floorplan! The one I thought I'd never see in a class C, it has everything on my list! Good cargo capacity, rear full width bath, the murphy bed AND a cabover with a decent load rating, a dinette to rip out and replace with an office space, bathroom, bed (cabover), AND fridge access with the slide closed for perfect accessibility when "stealth" camping (as much as one can with a class C anyway), a generator, a fireplace, a nice TV *with STORAGE*, and dual ACs for extra pup safety, and all under 30 feet! I thought I'd have to get a travel trailer to fit all that stuff in 30ft! First time I've EVER seen one tick off all the boxes in a class C! And the camp kitchen? Not on my list of must haves but definitely a plus! If I were being nitpicky, my only complaint is the step up on the slide, shame they couldn't make that a smoother transition, and of course a 12V fridge would be nicer!
I get what you're saying on the slide but then I remember the money Newmar has spent creating floor flush slides in their big, expensive units. Then, I look at the price tag on this and go "yeah.. ok.. I can deal with that" lol :)
Other than the gas mileage and the loud A/C (Which is just one of my pet peeves) that's a nice RV. Seem to me they are stepping it up. Well done Jayco. Peace out Josh.
Probably my favorite Class C design. Only issues is the cab is a little tight and definitely needs a 12V fridge. Dealer told me they could add one, but should be standard now days.
I like almost everything. I hate Murphy beds. Would rather have the bed down all the time. Make the dinette a sofa with portable table. Then it would be perfect. I'd even be okay with a bendy bed (with the bendy part at the head) while in travel mode.
Need the 12 Volt Refrigerator!!! Jayco needs to change out those valances - they don’t fit the decor. Should offer a couch and/or recliner in place of the U-dinette.
I love these smaller C's. I've got to admit I'm partial to Leisure Vans as they offer the ability to use the murphy bed with the slide in. Jayco has been upping their game on these. Something to keep an eye on though.
@@JoshtheRVNerd True, I admit it's my dream RV but probably won't happen. Other companies are upping their game so it will be interesting to see where they go. I don't plan on buying for another few years so things could change.
@@JoshtheRVNerd The real problem is there is a 2 year wait time to get one. 12v fridge is the way to go, more room and gets cold much quicker. With solar and some decent batteries juice is not a problem.
Impressive! I have occasionally looked at Class C RVs and usually reject them for various reasons. But this is a real looker! The tow package seems adequate to meet some of my secondary storage concerns! I'm really impressed! (Sorry I'm looking around Ember! LOL)
Wow, I was wondering when Jayco was going to borrow the Winnebago View floorplan, put it on the E450 chassis, stretch it to almost 29', and put in an outdoor kitchen!!! Now, you did not mention the OCCC (shame, shame), but I would buy it if they offered a 12-volt compressor fridge, "IF" they allowed me to yank out that terrible group 24 L.A. battery and install my own dual Group 27 Battleborn LIFEPO4 lithium batteries. The 190-watt solar panel is great, I would add a 2nd solar panel with a Victron 30-amp B.T. MPPT controller and then add a 2nd 30-amp Victron controller so my ground-mounted 400-watts of solar can get me a speedy recharge. Often the canyons we camp host offer unlimited beauty, but sometimes just 3-4 hours of peak solar charging before either the sun disappears over the canyon wall or the afternoon hail and thunder rain everything out. Since I would have a 25' cell pole velcro-strapped to the rear ladder (with high-gain log periodic antenna), I need to add my own inverter also since Jayco doesn't think camp hosts spend 4-6 months serving the public and like to run their printers to print out reservation updates, etc. So Red Hawk and Odyssey both need to offer Inverter options (I know one group 24 lead acid battery won't support a 1000-watt inverter, but LEAD IS DEAD and LIFEPO4 is so common today I get so tired of having to explain it to CEOs). So, in order for me to dump my Lance travel trailer and go to the Redhawk or Odyssey (whoever has stock), I expect these changes to be manifested ASAP so I will quit looking at that Winnebago floorplan that I have been drooling over for years and years (I hate the Sprinter chassis). Josh, keep up the good work, buddy!!!!!! Dave (The other RV Nerd with the specs of every RV memorized so I can drive RV Salesmen crazy so they can't wait to hand me over to the "NEW" guy)
Love this rig. I think all rigs should be using 12v. I don’t mind a solid mattress Murphy bed. How thick is this mattress? How heavy can the mattress be? Because if this mattress sucks, it has to be replaced.
I do not have answers for how thick the mattress could be as that's not something I can really test for nor are we provided from the MFG. Apologies for the lack of info, but I also didn't want to just make something up
Definitely a step up from the Class C I had years ago. I like the Murphy setup. Hard to believe they cheaped out with a plastic toilet and a 1940s toilet. Not a fan of the dinette personally. We had a couple of Class Cs and then a motor home. I don't think I want a motorized RV again. With what these things cost now I can buy a nice 5th wheel and a nice F250. That way I have a camper AND a truck.
I like the idea of a 12 volt refrigerator supported with solar panels and a couple of batteries, but, unfortunately class C coaches don’t usually offer enough room for extra batteries.
We both like this model. Our wish would be 12V fridge and the sofa would be theatre seating below the Murphy bed. I do like the curve shower door, leaves more elbow room.
I really like this one. It would be good with the 12v. I am not as up to date on the motorized versions since there aren't many shown. Do they use a material like Azdel for the walls or roof? With these what is the off road looking like?
@@JoshtheRVNerd When I take delivery of my class c next month one of the first things I am going to do is take it to Quigley in PA and have the 4X4 conversion done. They swap of the E series drive components for F series 4wd.
Love it. I tried to order one from "another dealership" / national chain ... Not Bish's. I just could not reconcile the $5,000 order deposit (non-refundable) and $20k mandatory down payment. I was surprised that the dealership I spoke with would not allow me to decide what I wanted to do as a down payment. I hope the drivable industry levels out soon.
That’s not indicative of the industry at large but rather that place’s operations. A non-refundable down payment on a special order isn’t uncommon though. And reasonable if you understood how the dealership is on the hook for that RV
@@JoshtheRVNerd I agree. My concern was mostly with the total deposit. Even if I have the money I just don't love to put that much down. I think my real issue was with my choice of dealer and sales person. They very much made me feel like a commodity and not a customer. They basically said they didn't need my business. I am guessing Bish's would be a different experience. I would welcome a dealership in WA.
@@jonverda All I can tell is that a LENDER may require a certain amount down but a dealership really has no actual say in what you put down And if they really try to force that issue then.. I mean there's plenty of other places Understand I HIGHLY recommend putting as much money down as you can, but that's YOUR decision and not mine you know?
I have a question about the storage area where the solar plug and outlet are, outside. It looks like there isn't a way for cords to exit, so the door would have to stay open? I don't usually care for outside kitchens. This one bends that thought. I really like that it's done with a grill top (looked like it?) and that it had that narrow storage next to it. Great place to keep grill stuff, and it looked like it might fit paper plates on their side. Grilling isn't something I can do in the regular kitchen, and means I don't have to carry a separate grill. If I'm wrong and it wasn't a grill...then meh.
Hey Uncle Josh I really love this Jayco Redhawk 26M. I would love to see a 12volt refrigerator in it, with it having a generator an solar on it. I was wondering if you could order a teddy bear mattress for the bunk over the cab? The space in this unit is out of this world. They done a great job on this class c motorhome.!!!!
In terms of mattresses they only come with what they come with basically -- from the factory. Aftermarket you could get whatever was available So if another supplier offers that kind of bedding, then it could be done
First the valances have to go...I like to reclining seats in Murphy bed area such as used in Unity rv. Reduce the dinette and provide king Murphy bed. Get rid of plastic toilet and cheap fan. This unit would be truly a couple camper. I would love to see ability for the bed to be used while in transit.
I love it...for a ritired trucker I could live in this for long periods of time I just don't know if I could afford the fuel to get out of driveway or backyard...did I miss the MPG? I have won awards getting 8 mpg out trucks fuel tank capacity?
This is a very nice unit. Jayco, Southwest valances are a No go. They not only don't go with farmhouse decor, they have looked bad for the last few years. Josh, I do like the 👍U shape dinette, 👍 large bunk over cab and the rear bath!
Hard Pass on the 12v fridge. But as we have discussed, I’m jaded by my experience with the big full-size 12V fridge in my Wolfpack. One the size of this fridge could be entirely different ball game
