Here i take a look at a chair, which i recently bought. The FOX EOS 1. I will thoroughly test by using this for a long time to see how it holds up. Bill
Hi, I've only just seen your great video. I've also ordered the FOX EOS 1 Chair and I can't wait to see what it's like. I hope you are doing well! Greetings from Germany. Anglers stick together. Dear Ingo
You are a wonder Bill. We cannot fish but we can talk of fishing and fishing kit, of which there is an infinite supply. My trout fishing is not going ahead this season sadly, so I am busy going through my kit as well, which will keep me amused as will your vids. Thank You. Alan
Keep safe an and well mate us old not quite so fit boys will be there at the end of all this sadness to take care of the youngster's ... All the best Bill take good care. Rob
My Chubb chair cost me £25 around 15 years ago and has no plastic on it. Plastic goes brittle after a few years then cracks and breaks. But were in a world of plastic now. I'm also in the high risk category but I have plenty to do. Keep your chin up and stay safe.
All the best Bill, don't let the cabin fever get you down and stay safe.. also keep the videos coming as it's content like yours that brings a bit of normality back into our lives 👍
Hi Bill I can sympathise with you have had the same stay indoors for 12 weeks letter from my local hospital. I bought a Terry Hearn Chub Chair years ago now that is very light to carry and still doing a great job for me today. The only downside was that the back legs gradually worked forward as I moved and would then collapse suddenly! I curred this by drilling trough the sides and chair tubing and fixing pins so that it couldn't move once up, the pins were taped to the legs so they didn't get lost.
Hi Bill love your videos especially the ones on using the whip which you have inspired me to have go at once lockdown is over. The course fishing down in England looks second to none with plenty of venues and quality fish. Thanks bill for sharing your wisdom and joy of fishing with us all, it's times like this we realise how precious life and freedom really is.
Hi thank you for the positive comment. I will be posting more video's featuring the whip. The one positive thing that has come out of this crisis is that people have learnt how much freedom means, who knows how long that will last? Bill
Great upload as always Bill....most important bit though is you and the Mrs keeping safe in these dark times..like you say with all your hailments and age its a must you isolate. Stay safe.
Thanks for the video bill good enough chair no doubt good to see you back no fishing here in northern Ireland either of course so all just hoping this passes quickly with not too much trouble but who knows hope you and yours stay safe and well 15 weeks is a long time I know but better safe than sorry best wishes bill
Wishing you and family all the best from the N East , shame about the fishing, no one around here for miles on the reservoir , but rules are rules , Tightlines Bill 🎣🎣🎣🎣, have a similar chair, very comfy 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Ive got a cheap and cheerful seat which has a handy cup holder. It was only about £10 or maybe £15 from argos or ebay I can't remember but ive had it for ages and havent got the heart toreplace it haha, plus i havent seen more expensive models with a cup holder. Its a fold out type of seat that comes with a bag. Good vids!
Thanks for a great review Bill. I'm not in the Prime of life and have come to need a chair that I can get out of easily enough. My current one doesn't have arms. Best wishes to you and your family to stay healthy.
Nice chair , about two weeks ago my wife bought me a garden trolley 4 wheeler, from Costco, it folds up flat ,is very sturdy holds all my gear, and it says on it has 300lbs capacity .Cost less than 60 pounds sterling, its a good value, used it just once up to now. easy pull along and hope ? to use it soon. stay safe all david
Great video. I bought one of those small folding Shakespeare chairs at Christmas following your advice on an earlier video. It's proven to be a great chair; easy to carry & get off with duff knees etc. I'm always interested in your long term tests, especially if they save me buying the wrong stuff!
Hi i am glad to help. I only have two problems with this little chair. One, a lack of adjustability on the legs because on anything other than dead level ground it can be wobbly. Years ago i used to carry a small gardening trowel to get chairs level! Second there is no way to add attachments ie baitwaiters etc. But if you can live with the drawbacks it is a great cheap little lightweight chair. ill
I hear ya brother. I am high risk, and going stir crazy. I have a fox chair, just folds out, and thats it, so simple. Brilliant chair, no good for pole though. Due to the arms 😭 keep well.
One of my favourite swims is a good 25 minute walk from the car park. Carrying a JRC steel chair is hard enough on the way to the bank, on the return trip at dusk it is totally exhausting. A barrow might be an answer, but there are three stiles to negotiate each way. I'm currently looking at aluminium alternatives. Stay well!
Hi well the lightest seat i have found is the Korum ultra lightweight chair or the Fox version but neither are cheap and i looked at the Korum model but it was far too low. Bill
Hi Bill looks a very nice sturdy chair just right when I out crow and pigeon shooting in a hide will go and get one when I am let out like you got to stay in due to chest problems, please look after yourself.
Looking for a comfortable affordable chair? This may fit your needs. It’s comfortable, reasonably light and reasonably cheap. My wife even gave it the thumbs up. It will be used as often as possible and I will report on how it stands up to abuse.
Hi Bill Good to see and hear you. I have a similar chair and also the Octoplus setup the same as you. I find it best to use a bank stick and bait tray so it is independent of the chair or Octoplus seat both of which become unstable if you attach staff to them. I found the system best when fishing canals and rivers. For commercials I have the seatbox with attachments and trolley. Any how that’s just what I do.
Hi well i have no problems with my box, other than the hard seat, and with the footplate or rollover bar it is stable enough because it then has 6 legs. Regards Bill
Hi Bill love watching your videos do you ever relax and watch your own fishing films that give so many people so much pleasure ? Always notice the picture at side of your sofa . Take care 🐼
Hi Heather, i do watch my own video's but just to see my own mistakes and to work out how to improve them! But i do watch plenty of other RU-vid video's for pleasure. Thank you for noticing the picture of my daughter, she is the light of my life! Bill
Wish I had some magnets bill. I'd make some little fishes and tiny rod and fish in my living room. Bloody virous I'm decorating, now so when it's over I'm freeeeeee. I bet every lake canal river will be rammed wen it's over.
Hello Bill, it is lovely to see you, and I hope both you and your wife are doing well. I have a question about the chair, which I hope you can answer. I have peripheral neuropathy in both of my legs from the knee down, which makes it difficult to get up from a low position, as I cannot feel the lower half of those limbs. I am 5' 11", so quite tall, which only makes the matter worse. Do you think the Fox EOS 1 would be a suitable choice for myself? I am sure you have realised that a 3 month quarantine would coincide with June16 :-D . As I have heart and lung problems too, I can quite empathise what you are gooing through, Bill. In the mean time, keep yourself, your wife and your family as saafe as possible, and get through this unscathed. Looking forward as always to your next instalment, and best wishes from Surrey.
Hi Emma i'm sorry to hear of your health problems! It might be worth checking out the Korum models as the have long legs and can be extended further. for comfort i have never found anything to match the big korum super deluxe chair! Kindest regards Bill
Hi Bill got a canal by me where the toe path is the other side and I know after fishing there for over 20 years no one walks on the side I fish so I think I would be more isolated than going to the shop .But can I still go what do you think
Paul Cole , sorry Paul, as Bill said “rules is rules “! So no you should NOT go fishing it’s a unnecessary outing and doesn’t fit the exercise definition of a walk, jog or cycle ride, and on top of that we should stay at home venturing out only for supplies, medication or to go to work if you can’t work from home and of course if your work is in the right category! Don’t forget, stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives. If you have read as far as this it’s now time to WASH YOUR HANDS 😂 stay safe, kind regards From deepest Dorset
Hi no they don't but they are prevented from unfolding when you carry it, whether that's by holding the frame or using a carry strap, because it has a scissor type of folding leg. Bill
Am looking for a chair that is light , portable and compact when folded to be able to fit into my Ruck sack .. as i carry all my gear in my Rucksack .. and travel by Bike as i don't have a car or motorbike when i go fishing ..
Hi i don,t know any that will fit in a rucksack but the smallest one is the little folding Shakespeare model you will have seen me seated on in loads of my video's and you have my sympathy as i used to cycle everywhere with my tackle then at 16 i got a moped which helped. Bill
Hi apparently yes in answer to your question! It does not make sense to me! you are in the fresh air, on your own so no social distancing to worry about. Great for your mental health and even the government acknowledge that!!! You cant catch the virus sitting fishing or transmit it to others!! Bill
