A spoon is an easy fishing lure that even a beginner can go fishing with and catch bass. Cast it out, real it in with a few twitches, and you too can catch bass. I am using a Kastmaster spoon to mimic bait fish in the area and it totally saved the day. After fishing deep with live bait and striking out, I tied on a spoon and started catching fish. I caught a couple of bass, a drum, striper, and a yellow bass. This technique is easy enough for beginners so maybe try fishing with a spoon and catch a few bass.

I actually will sometimes “figure 8” like I’m Musky fishing when I’m pond fishing for Bass. You would be surprised at how many times it actually works!

I will always have a blue and silver kastmaster spoon in my tackle box. When nothing else is working it always seems to come through. It's not always a must use but it's always a must have.

After a slow start you crushed the multi species at the end with that spoon! I love throwing spoons and in line spinners they are my go to when the fish aren't biting any other baits!

Kastmasters are awesome. I catch trout, bass, and bluegill on them. Definitely a productive lure. They come in several sizes and they cast far!

Kastmasters are some of my favorite lures and what I catch most of my fish on. They're simple, and effective. You can't really beat a shiny spoon for just about any predatory fish in fresh water.

Drum are one of my favorite to catch! I've never encountered a yellow bass didn't know they existed till now. I caught a fish called a Mooneye I thought it was a huge shad 😅. I have a gold spoon almost willow style spoon that has black scales painted on it, never used it before. I'm actually in the process of making my own lures right now. I'm making spinner blades by hand using smashed pennies. I think you've inspired me to make my own spoons too now. Smashed penny, in between two dinner table spoons with a c clamp for curve, then maybe shine it on a wire wheel, then a felt tip in the dremel, then a letter punch for scale like detail...yeah I think I'll try it...thanks for the inspiration!

I made my own spoons with the ends of a couple spoons from the dollar tree, pack of 5 for 1$ and the pack of treble hooks from walmart I bought the red for color. They are easy and simple to make also they work very effectively and they are cheap to make total cost 6$ for 5. I added colors with acrylic nail polish that my wife had so no cost there.👍

I need to pick up a few more styles of spoons. I have been using the War Eagle ones and having pretty good luck with them and they are pretty cheap to be so solid and a two pack, but it's tons of them on the market with different finishes and colors now. Great lures for all sorts of fish though.

I have been using these LI holographic silver spoons, with the shiny sticker I have caught everything on it including catfish, even in the winter, I have several colors gold and silver, I also use inline spinners, meps, or panther martin's.

Awesome to see the boat getting out more on the lake 👍🏻 One of the first lures I used to catch a trout was something called a Zona Lures Z-Ray. It’s similar to a spoon but honestly looks like a bent piece of misshaped metal with a hook attached. But damn did that lure catch trout. They stopped selling them years and years ago but I think they’re coming back. They have no stable motion in the water, they just flip, flop and zig zag everywhere and trout love ‘em.

I was at a neighbor's pond using a classic red and white spoon and I was at the end of the pond and basically a second after the spoon hit the water, a bass got it but got off before I could get him out

Looks like a tough day ended up being decent there at the last spot. Good variety. I went fishing Thursday and it started slow, but I ended up catching 3 small bass, a 1lb 14oz bass, a couple 8ish inch shellcracker, and a bluegill that damn near reached 10 inches. The nearly 2 lb bass alone made it a successful trip to me and the big bluegill was a nice bonus.

Nice going. I like to use some small spoons sometimes. I also like to make my own out of spinner blades, and scrap metal. I got some really nice cheap lots, of chinese spoons from ebay. They work great. I kind of wonder, if you would have got some more fish to bite, if you threw a weedless spoon around the weeds by that island.

Great video with some nice fish. Have not had a whole lot of success on spoons except for on the Phoebe variety in streams on bass,trout and panfish. I'm sure you got some in your tackle aresenal, if not give them a try, they work pretty good.

Another great video Realistic Fishing, you were on fire!! Just a quick tip, you may want to use a barrel swivel when using those spoons or inline spinners, to drastically reduce line twist on your spinning gear. Keep it up man!

While inline spinners do cause massive amounts of line twist, spoons arent as bad when fished correctly. The rock back and forth and dont twirl as much.

We have them in the next lake over, they are taller and shaped more like a football. I don't think they cross breed in the wild so they have to be stocked.

Spooooooon! Great video! What did that little yellow bass think it was going to do to that spoon, 🤣🤣 Have you tried the Johnson Silver Minnow spoons, with the weed wire? I like the little ones for panfish when the water's too murky for grubs (I tread a tiny grub on the spoon hook,) but I bet the bigger ones would work great for your bass in the weed edges.
