Although it doesn't happen a lot these days, there is still a chance of it happening - your reel not spooling the line in an even stack. In this video, I show you how to address this issue.
It's very easy to fix and although all the reel manufacturers need an official video for this, there aren't any for any brand - sadly. So this video explains how to fix the line lay issue on some spinning reels and how to fix it. There are shims sent out with the reel including instructions on how you put them on. The problem is, people tend to forget about this. I also talk about why you need to fix this line lay issue for spinning reels. The loose loops on top causes wind knots because the line will get on your spool loose, and the loops on the bottom of the stack will sometimes get pushed by the loops on top - causing a wind knot. Originally, I didn't really have an issue with the tapering line lay on this reel, but it might be me tightening the drag when I clean the reel with water - maybe. There are instructions in the box and the parts are also supplied for this - in the box - this is a very common problem and the manufacturers send the fix in the box, just in case. Anyway, I hope this video helps people - I know this isn't common these days, but it still happens, especially on lower end reels where the manufacturing process isn't as refined, but it still happens, as you can see with the example, the reel isn't exactly just "mid end".
