Good ham and Gruyère cheese make the most delicious sandwich in the world. Mustard is delicious with it, but some people don’t like it. And the baguette is the bread to make this sandwich with. I love Seth, I love the old clips of him and Martha. Now I have to put on my face mask, get my purse and get the ingredients to make this sandwich!

I found a place in NorCal that is run by a French chef....and seriously his Jambon Beurre is so amazing I will not divulge the location, they are already busy enough and I don't want it to be impossible to go there. Sometimes when the word gets out, it makes it impossible to go back when the lines are down the block.

I don't know the timing of it all, but one of the other times Seth was on, he made a joke about how the celebrities don't actually cook much on the show, and then said, something like "what will it be next time, ham sandwiches?". I wonder if this was in retaliation for that.

Who the hell put Dijon mustard on a ham and gruyere sandwich ? Even the use of salted butter is only in certain regions. Martha sliced the baguette in 2 parts : wrong

Now that's how you ruin a classic French ham sandwich. No mustard and no cheese. Must use a wooden knife to spread the butter to avoid metallic taste.

Really? I live in Harlem NY aka the hood and my local super market has Gruyere cheese.

i guess i have to look more carefully. they have so much of the parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella. i think harlem is in manhattan though and nyc has specialty cheeses.
