I have something simple and quick for today's video! It's easy and suited for beginners. I've had a few requests for hibiscus flowers in the past and I decided to give it a go and hopefully you guys are happy with the method and how it came out! Happy painting everyone!

I tried a hibiscus a few weeks ago without success. Watching you paint this piece I discovered a couple of techniques that would fix the issues I had, particularly with the stamins. Thanks for sharing. 🥰

Such a beautiful and quick painting! It's really helpful how you show how to sketch the correct angles of the petals. Would love to see the reference photo as you're painting, or even just a quick glance at it. Can't wait to try this one 👍

Glad it was helpful. I didn't use a reference photo for this one, I simply went to pinterest to glance through the feed and study the shapes, which is why I was able to change the angles :)

I am having a bit of trouble making my petals have the unevenness. I either have too much paint or too much water I think. I’ve tried taking some off with the brush but I think since I have cheap paints it doesn’t take off well. Granted I’m a beginner lol. Any suggestions? Also requesting bluebonnets and daffodils pls! Your can try painting this on scrap paper first without worrying about the petals just to study the consistency and brush load :))

I don't really have an intensive drawing course but I do have a couple of beginner technique videos on my skillshare which might help? But this would also depend on your drawing level, because a lot of times the realism comes from how the image is constructed prior to painting, with things like the fundamentals like form and values (which I'm still struggling with myself xD)

@@Nianiani yesss. i tried repainting from your coffee tutorial and the froth looks like choco chips 😭 it looked weird. i would love to learn painting and drawing (my drawing skill is nearly zero). yes i look up your courses on skillshare. i even bought the same brush as yours (winsor sceptre?) so i can do details better. tried using liner brush cause that’s what i’m accustomed with gouache, but it came out wobbly 🙈 thank you for existinggg you’re a great teacher 🥰🥰🥰

Check out Jenna Rainey. She is a much looser style than Nia but she just did jellyfish recently.

Because I need a break just like any other human being as I've mentioned in the video? Easy painting also doesn't make it fast to make because I still needed to find an easy approach for everyone to follow, film, edit, script, voice over, etc 😊 of course skillwise I know I cn do better but sometimes time just doesn't allow. You'll hopefully learn of this concept as you grow and have 3-4jobs at once as well as a health condition to uphold 😉
