I love sharing techniques that I´ve learned with you all. Some may look complicated but in reality are fairly simple. As always, you have to get the right consistency, and I show you exactly how to acheive that.
Marbled cookies are classic. There are so many possibilities you can do and each and every cookie comes out unique. Mix any colours, start with any base colour, and add as much or little colour as you want. It´s reall up to you. And the best part is, they are quick to do yet look like you spent tons of time getting that look!
If you´re in need of a great icing recipe, check out mine here:
• The Best Royal Icing R...
If you need a great no spread method to make cookies, check out my video here:

I have other great tutuorials as well, make sure to check out my channel to see them all!
Thanks so much for watching and Happy Baking & Decorating!

I am brand new to cookie decorating and have been exploring the range of decorating methods. This marbling seemed like a quick and easy way to start. Using pink, green, and black with a white base turned out beautifully. I was amazed at how they turned out. And, the range of cookie colors from black-white to bright pink-green was fantastic. Having practiced making the cookies and creating colored icings previously, this process was pretty quick to complete. Will keep this in my repertoire. Thanks very much for your well-presented videos!

I am really happy that I saw this one. These are stunningly beautiful cookies!!! I want to try this technique on some cookies for Turkey Day. I always think that giving Christmas Cookies on Thanksgiving is too early. I also don’t want My Family and Friends to think that they are their Christmas Gift. I just want to share something with Them for a small Thanksgiving Day Gift. I could just drop off a package of them with The Social Distancing right now. Thank You again. Happy Turkey Day!!! 😊👍🏼👋🏼❤️🦃🍗👋🏼

love this video - thank you for sharing. The one I saw a couple of years ago added straight gel colors into the icing and it works but sometimes I got pockets of the gel and it didn't dry as well as I'd like. I like your way better. The colors mix easier...can't wait to try these.

A nice hack to use while thinning down your royal icing, is to use a spray bottle with water that way you are less likely to put too much water.

Once they're fully dry, you can put them in cello bags, or a container or you can freeze them if you won't have them for a while!

@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 3 года назад
Thank you!! They last about weeks or so freshness wise if they are just sitting out in a container (I've had them a month later and they're still fine just sometime a little more crisp, but nothing a little dip in coffee didn't solve). I would say if you can heat seal them, or maybe have them in a ziploc freezer bag or an airtight container would be your best bet to keep them as fresh as possible for a couple weeks!

Looks awesome! I’ll have to try. Do most people like more burned cookies? I prefer mine to be not burned at all. What do others seem to like?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 2 года назад
Yes, it's so much fun! Most people lately like they're cookies to be white and slightly undercooked. I use brown sugar in my recipe so that adds to the colour of mine but if you use regular sugar or powdered sugar then cookies are lighter in colour. I like my cookies to have a nice brown colour, I find it more flavorful but I do forget them in the oven sometimes and over bake them 🤣 but I still use them for videos! Happens to the best of us.

@LittleCookieCo

Sometimes if im taking too long or doing lots and not adding enoug icing to jt, it may start to. But if you have a damp paper towel with you and every so often cover it just to let it absorb some of the moisture and prevent it from crusting

I would love to try this! Do you think I could just use liquid food coloring to get the effect? The kind that comes in little dropper bottles?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 2 года назад
It may work, but they aren't normally as concentrated as the gel ones and if you use too much it may thin down the icing too much. Maybe try with a bit thicker icing just in case!

I love your Channel and all your tips are amazing! Thank you so much! I have a question about royal icing. How do you know if RI is no longer good to use? I have mixed colours sealed in bags in the fridge since Thanksgiving (October 2021), would it be too old to re-use? Thank you.
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 2 года назад
Thank you!! I would say it's probably too old. I don't think it necessarily goes bad (usually a taste test will tell you if it's gone bad) because the amount of sugar in it acts like a preservative. However I don't like using icing that's older than a week or so in my fridge because it doesn't have the same consistency. I prefer freezing my icing then k know it's good for a few months. I also find my icing gets gummy and separates and can't be massaged back together when it's too old!

Can you do this with any cookie type ?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo Год назад
If you mean shape... yes! If you mean like a chocolate chip cookie or shortbread etc, it depends. It has to he a somewhat sturdy cookie, because when you dip it in the icing it creates a bit of a suction and may break the cookie if it's too soft.

@coffeecake8835

Is there any reason to swirl in colored icing vs just swirling in the food coloring directly?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 3 года назад
I've never tried it that way, and maybe it could be done like that. But from my experience coloring icing, the gel colours are very concentrated and so you'd want to stir it in quite well because you wouldn't want a big blob of gel color on your cookie. And not sure if you stirred it in well enough if you would still have a marbled look in your icing. But there's no wrong way, if it works then why not!!
@coffeecake8835
@coffeecake8835 3 года назад
@@LittleCookieCo Thanks for your reply 🙂. I've actually done this technique with buttercream, and it turns out quite well....but royal icing is a different animal. Thanks for your fantastic videos!
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 3 года назад
Oh how cool! Yeah I feel like it would work better with buttercream because the consistency I imagine would be thicker so would give that marbeled look when mixed. But I wouldn't be surprised if it would work with RI too!

Did royal icing always have corn starch?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 2 года назад
Did you mean corn syrup? They call it frankenfrosting, a mix between glaze and royal icing. Glaze has a soft bite but doesn't hold shape well, royal icing holds shape well but has a hard bite so together they are just perfect!
@sophiadapas6403

Do you have to put them In the oven for a shinier finish after dipping them?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 2 года назад
I'm not a fan of oven drying because my oven is too warm, but you can put a fan to blow on them and that helps with shine as well as adding corn syrup to your icing!
@sophiadapas6403
@sophiadapas6403 2 года назад
@@LittleCookieCo Ok thanks! Would I just leave them at the fan for about 20 minutes?
@LittleCookieCo
@LittleCookieCo 2 года назад
I like to leave it for as long as the cookies take to crust over, so could be up to 30/40 minutes. I personally use a dehydrator at a very low heat setting and fan and leave them in there while I work on different steps!
