A Sewalong for the easiest dress ever for a child- no zips, no buttons, no bias binding - just elastic around the neck for an easy fit, full of hints & tips to make it even easier. Made for the #ProjectDressAGirl but can be made at anytime for anyone. This dress comes together in no time & is a free pattern from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom - linked below. The amount of fabric needed will differ for different sizes & detailed on the website.

What a great tip to turn your seam allowance and press the casing in place prior to sewing it up. I also use the same color coding pin trick. Always, two different colored pins where I need to leave a gap. Awesome tutorial!

Hi Sam, I received the labels today Thank You so much. The confusion around my name stems from childhood. I was Christened one name then called by another at home in school and by friends. Crazy makers. 🤣😂🤣

Thanks for the “Sew Through”, but I’m wondering if it might have been easier to complete the sewing of the neckline channel BEFORE you sewed the side seams (while the garment was still flat), running the neck elastic as the last step of the garment. In the same vein, I might be tempted to sew the SLEEVE casings and run the elastic through before sewing up the sides, and even anchoring the elastic of the bottom of the sleeves at the same time as sewing the side seams . My old faithful Singer doesn’t have a detachable deck, so the more I can do in a flat format, the easier it is for me!
