Find the correct position halfway to the ball and it will be easy to hit the ball straight with a lot of power.
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook. How to swing a golf club need to be adjusted to your skill level and experience.
Long and straight is the goal for everyone but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers.
We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can get better.
Find what inspires you. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

Today my 2nd on course day incorporating your instruction, my playing buddies thought i was channeling some unknown golf guru the way I was playing. Not every shot was great but the majority were spot on, now playing to the ‘draw’ will take getting used to…can you speak to developing the mind set of playing with the draw? Thanks for the uncomplicated instructions!

I'm new to your channel but it's absolutely fantastic...thank you. I took your relaxed swing to the range at the weekend and just took three clubs ...my 54' wedge is normally a 60/75 yard club ..with my regular "straight lead arm " swing....but...with the new improved Marcus edition I was shocked to see time after time I was hitting the 100 yd marker...! As you say.. working over time to make changes this winter..the early release with the driver was ace too.... really impressed 👍

Good morning Marcus, and thank you so much for your rapid response. Now I see why my ball keeps hanging out to the right because I gripped it open. Sometimes our eyes can give us false information. This is good information to have. So it's back to the range today. Luckily for me here in lower Alabama its 60 degrees outside.

Something that helped me avoid coming in from the outside was to stand further away from the ball and to widen my stance a bit, especially for the longer clubs. On the other hand as I continue to improve I find that it’s okay to come in slightly from the outside with wedges and shorter irons. A slightly out to in path compensates for hitting down on the ball since hitting down encourages a push for me

Could you do a video on your setup with body and ball position along with your alignment to show your ball flight You deliver a lot of power to the ball and your body size is one reason but the way you create the swing and contact…that would be good to see

Hello again Marcus and I’m loving your videos and working on your concepts with some success and I’m finally to the point where I can stop thinking about what I’m doing and just tryst it and try to accelerate to the finish. Anyway my question is, is the ball position in this video actually behind your trail foot ? It sure looks like it. I know that I should just go to the range and experiment to find what ball position works for me but I’m curious about yours and wondering where most of your students place the ball for a wedge and for a driver ? Thanks again 👍😁
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 10 месяцев назад
Hi Paul. I would say that the ball is between my trail foot and the middle. Camera angles can make it hard to see. I'm further back than normal but not behind the foot. 😁

" ...this is important, I really think so..." Agreed, Marcus. This is actually a secret of top pros controlling the timing so well striking the golf ball just three feet or so to the ground all out to full finish. Nothing saved in between. This movement of the golf club could be resembled to playing Bowling Ball hand movement. You lift the bowling ball up and high to your chest, drop your hand to your waist level, then through the ball out to the bowling alley with your upper body slightly bent forward, and lower body balanced. Just saying.

Marcus, getting back into golf after 20 years off, and thanks to your videos, I am seeing a draw/hook ball flight for the first time in my life. Question: I bought two sets of second hand irons, of different lengths. I'm tall like you (6'3), and going back and forth between the PW/9 from each set, I find it much more difficult to release the shorter shaft length irons on time. Most instruction suggests the shorter the club, the later the release. How does the shaft length effect that? How can the ball flight (the real teacher) tell you if your club length is wrong? Thanks again!
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 10 месяцев назад
Hi Michael. Mostly the pro looks at a chart that's telling them at 6'3 you should have this length of clubs but there are so much more things that matter. The most important part is that we don't want the toe or heel to dig in the ground. We want the lie angle to be correct. After that it's more looking at the swing. I'm 6'1 but my arms are longer than normal and that makes it perfect for me to have standard length clubs. If the clubs are identical it's easier to release a short club because the weight of the club head is closer to your hands and it makes it easier to move. Ok?

Marcus, I enjoy your instruction, and never miss a video, but I wonder why at the start of your swing, you lift the club up a few inches as you move your weight to the left. Is this simply something you've always done, or is it done deliberately for a particular reason? I can't thank you enough for sharing your insights.

Marcus, my irons increased 10-15yds carry since i shifted to your methods.. 9iron is now at 145 carry from 128.. but with the wedges.. the shots are floaty and spin.. like my 50 degree sometimes would not even reach 100 yds, when solidly struck.. at 8o-85 mph it should easily carry.. i get alot of turf and it feels compressed.. but it seems like the ball just goes high.. how do you fix this?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Месяц назад
If you really were compressing the ball with good impact it would start low not high. There is a misunderstanding somewhere? The ball NEVER lies.

Marcus, thank you for your instructions. I am working on it. My question is this, when you say you like 5 degrees open club face at address, do you grip the club face square and then open at your address, or do you actually grip the club open with your hands. If you start pushing when you transition from back swing to forward you create all the power you need. It doesn't matter how long the back swing is. Your open club face that give you a push is a timing issue. Watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BAIwlOgMPLo.htmlsi=5DAJHN0a27BqG-vC
